Visual Studio Team Services - how to change language? - tfs

I use Visual Studio Team Services. I goto - My Profile - Locale - choose another language. But the language in the browser there is in English. How to change language in Visual Team Services?

From Brian Harry's Blog Post about Microsoft's first non-US hosted instance of Visual Studio Online:
Although we have our first instance in a non-US, non-English speaking
region, we do not yet support a localized experience for VS Online.
You can enter data in any language you wish but the UI for VS Online
is currently English only. This is something we expect to begin
addressing sometime next year.
Emphasis mine.

I had a problem where my TFS online was displaying in French rather than English even though other sites that I had been on were displayed in English. I discovered that my language had been set to French in Chrome and when I changed it back to English TFS also changed. So basically if you want to change the language of TFS online just change the default language in your browser!
The reason this works is that a lot of new web applications which are localised will look at the language settings for your browser and use that information to decide what language the website should be displayed in.
Source: I work with web applications that use this technique.

You can manage VS Team Explorer locales here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\Common7\IDE\CommonExtensions\Microsoft\TeamFoundation\Team Explorer
For example, you can rename folder with current team explorer locale to anything else (be sure to shutdown VS). After that locale will be switched to default (en-us).

Running Visual Studio with a ASP .NET application, but where can I change the validation language in the website?

I'm running an ASP .NET application with individual authentication on the visual studio. When I check with the validation, the error sentences are showen in Chinese. I check the controller, viewer and some JS file. I couldn't find any Chinese words. I want these error sentences to be English.
Is this because my computer system or chrome version are Chinese? Where can I change the language?
Look at this first...
In Visual Studio
Click Tools->Options->Environment->Internations Settings->Language.
Look at this second...
In Windows Settings (Windows + I) select Time and language and click language.
Finally...
Open Chrome->Settings->advanced->
Select the three dots next to preferred language.
Uncheck Offer to translate pages in this language

How to change Visual Studio Code error language?

I have Win 10 language set to Czech (I live there) and VS Code to English. But the errors (Problems panel) still show in Czech. Errors in the problems panel How do I change it to English? I tried deleting some language files in the .NET Framework folder or in the VS Code installation folder.

How can I get started with Xamarin from Visual Studio 2013?

I want to port a Compact Framework/Windows CE app to Xamarin to create Android and IOS (and possibly Windows Phone) "versions." I reckon I need Windows 8 for Windows Phone (8) but for now I thought I could get started with Android and IOS in moving this prehistoric app into the 21st century.
According to this article, I first need "Project linker" and can NuGet it, but searching for it via Tools > Extensions and Updates in VS 2013 returns no search results.
That article says you need VS 2012 or better; the direct link to "Project Linker," though, says it supports VS 2010.
Where do I go from here?
UPDATE
I went here, and am in the processing of downloading.
UPDATE 2
Here, it says, "Modern Integrated Development Environment (IDE) – Xamarin uses Xamarin Studio on Mac OS X, and also Xamarin Studio or Visual Studio 2010 on Windows."
Yet in VS 2013, I do have project types now for Android and IOS*, so I reckon that's just a typo (hasn't been updated)?
although I don't have a Mac, so that is not possible for me right now; also, since I'm still on Windows 7 at work, Windows 8 Phone apps are not yet a possibility, either. So at present, Xamarin within Visual Studio is simply a replacement for Eclipse/Java in the creation of Android apps.
UPDATE 3
I've been waiting for something better than PhoneGap, and I think maybe I've found it. If MS were to buy this company and bake Xamarin into Visual Studio -- voila!/yowza/wow! The cats in Cupertino will have to reach for the Pepto-Bismol!
That's a bit outdated and there's a much better approach available today.
You can use Portable Class Libraries (PCL) to share code across project spanning iOS, Android, Windows (Phones) and even OSX.
See this article (and where it leads) for more details.
I certainly agree with #poupou that PCL's are the way to go (if possible). I would recommend James Montemagno's app on github. He just created this for channel9 using VS 2013. I just created a cross-platform app based off of this and it worked out well. I would only use the file-linking for the platform specific implementations with compiler directives. This can be seen in his ServiceRegistrar class in said app.
This SO answer actually explains how to get the 2012 Project Linker to work with 2013 if you still want to go that route and gives a link to the extension.
Also, you may want to check out MvvmCross. It is open-source, has a large user-base and following, and really helps with maximum code re-use. Best part, it uses PCLs and all of it's features (plugins) are available via nuget.
I would recommend reading the article #poupou posted, watching James' channel9 videos on his github page, and (if you want to check out mvvmcross) watch #slodge's N+1 videos on mvvmcross.

Multilingual App Toolkit for web applications

I have come across this very interesting tool for Visual Studio 2012 development of windows apps called Multilingual App Toolkit - further information here
This is very clever how it generates resources based on selected languages etc.
Being a web application developer who develops multi lingual applications, I would love something similar, with same functionality available. For example, I am currently developing an MVC4 application for a client who has a requirement to support multiple languages. Is such a tool available to assist me with this? Or is there away to use the Multilingual App Toolkit for such web sites? Any other similar tools available?
The Multilingual App Toolkit v3.0 now supports ASP.NET MVC projects. See the blog announcement: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/matdev/archive/2014/04/14/announcing-multilingual-app-toolkit-v3-0.aspx
You simply need to do what the Visual Studio extension would otherwise do for you in a Windows Phone / Windows Store project. The extension puts some MSBuild imports in your project file and sets-up your existing resource files so the are generated by the use of the XLIFF files.

how to set up windows phone develop environment and using F# to develop application?

I have already download the windows phone develop tools but I don't know how to using F# to developing the app, currently it's C#.
Installing a template for 'F# and Windows Phone' into Visual Studio makes life a little easier. If you open Visual Studio and go to Tools->Extension Manager it will open the Extension Manager dialog. From there, if you select the online gallery and type 'F# Windows Phone' into the search box you can find a couple of templates that should help you get started. Most of them were written by Daniel Mohl. His blog can be found here Daniel Mohl
