Launchscreen rotation not working on iPhone 6s and smaller screens

I have a launchscreen storyboard with an ImageView and two labels all with some constraints to align the objects relative to the size of the screen.
When i choose a device with a screensize of an iPhone 6s or smaller in the simulator and rotate the device in landscape mode the view is not rotated.
When selecting an device with a larger screensize, e.g. an iPhone 6S Plus, the launchscreen is rotated correctly in landscape mode. Also when running it on an iPhone 6 the launchscreen is not rotated.
Any suggestions how to resolve this?
Maybe got a little bit closer to the cause. When rotating an iPhone 6 Plus or larger to the left in the Simulator, the dock icons are rotated. These are not rotated when rotating a device with a screen size equal or smaller than the iPhone 6.
I do not believe it is possible to rotate the LaunchScreen.
On the Apple Developer site: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/UIKit/Reference/UIViewController_Class/ in the section on "Handling View Rotations" there was this line:
At launch time, apps should always set up their interface in a portrait orientation. After the application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions: method returns, the app uses the view controller rotation mechanism described above to rotate the views to the appropriate orientation prior to showing the window.
So it looks like your main storyboard will get invoked before orientation can be taken into account.

How to disable portrait orientation for Ipad in swift 2 and xcode 7

I have been having this issue with the layout orientations specifically with ipads. In xcode, I clicked on the project itself in the left panel and disabled portrait layout. This worked for iphones and ipods but not ipads. The application is run on any ipad, the portrait mode is enabled. When turned to the portrait orientation in an ipad, my layout gets squished together and looks very bad. Is there anyway I would be able to only allow the devise orientation to be landscape on every device?
Here is a screenshot of the settings I have

Cordova ipad app 100% height issue

I just made an ios app through cordova, iphone app looks fine because I am using always portrait mode for iphones but for ipads I am using always landscape mode with locked rotation. The problem is when I ma build an app and run it on my ipad the landscape works fine the rotation is locked but the main issue is that I have set 100% height on body, and somehow its not working on iPad landscape. Looks like that 100% doesnt detect landscape mode and automatically was set 1024px for height because if I am set 768px height for body in inspect then the whole app looks fine as should.
Any ideas what can be the issue there ?
Don't set width and height if you set the scale
From apple doc
You do not need to set every viewport property. If only a subset of
the properties are set, then Safari on iOS infers the other values.
For example, if you set the scale to 1.0, Safari assumes the width is
device-width in portrait and device-height in landscape orientation.

Xamarin.Forms ListView not properly resizing (only on iOS)

I'm using a ListView in Xamarin.Forms. I have a problem with the resizing of the rows. When I start my application on portrait mode, the width of the rows fill the screen (as intended), but when I rotate to landscape mode they become wider. So far so good, but when I switch back to portrait again the rows stays the width as they were on landscape mode. This behaviour is not seen on an Android application with exactly the same code.
I've only tested this on the iOS simulator so far. It has the same behaviour on the iPad and the iPhone simulator.
Have I encountered a bug?

iOS8 lock view controller orientation

I have 2 root view controllers ViewController1 and TabBarController1(there are reasons for making 2 root view-controllers). ViewController1 only supports Portrait mode and TabBarController1 supports all orientations. ViewController1 appears first after launch. I am locking the orientation of ViewController1 using the following method.
- (NSUInteger)supportedInterfaceOrientations
{
return UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortrait;
}
The app launch and orientation worked fine with iOS7.
When building the app through Xcode 6 in iPad(iOS8) following change is observed:
- When app is launched in landscape mode, ViewController1 with orientation locked into portrait mode appears with half black screen and when TabBarController1 appears which supports all orientations, doesn't resize with proper dimensions on changing orientations.
I have also tried overriding the above method in TabBarController1 to support all orientation but nothing works fine.
This problem is not observed when launching the app on iPad in portrait mode.
There is no problem when launching the app on iPhone as iPhone launches only in Portrait mode.
What is the issue when working with iOS8 ?
I am a newbie, so don't judge..
In ios8, apple changed 2 things :
1-
[[UIscreen mainscreen] bounds].size
This used to be a fixed value for portrait and landscape, now it is not.
When u change from landscape to portrait the width and height switch.
2-What is happening with you. You cannot force a viewcontroller to be in portrait only if you set portrait and landscape in project settings, do not know why, so you maybe have to set portrait only in project settings for example..
This is happening on iPads and iphone 6+ only.
Hope this helped..
