IOS Facebook SDK, fetch user info - ios

is it possible, using the Facebook SDK, to get the user info from his user id? An important note is that the user would have approved the application and its permissions before the app make the request.
If it is possible, what is the right way to achieve this? I am trying using this code:
[FBRequestConnection startWithGraphPath:#"/100007046299250"
parameters:nil
HTTPMethod:#"GET"
completionHandler:^(
FBRequestConnection *connection,
id result,
NSError *error
) {
/* handle the result */
}];
But I get the following error message:
Error for request to endpoint '/100007046299250': An open FBSession must be specified for calls to this endpoint.
Thanks

After login authentication, you can get details from active FBSession like below
if (FBSession.activeSession.isOpen) {
[[FBRequest requestForMe] startWithCompletionHandler:
^(FBRequestConnection *connection,
NSDictionary<FBGraphUser> *user,
NSError *error) {
if (!error) {
NSString *firstName = user.first_name;
NSString *lastName = user.last_name;
NSString *facebookId = user.id;
NSString *email = [user objectForKey:#"email"];
NSString *imageUrl = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat: #"http://graph.facebook.com/%#/picture?type=large", facebookId];
}
}];
}

Sorting Through Graph API of Facebook Page on iOS

I am using:
if ([FBSDKAccessToken currentAccessToken]) {
[[[FBSDKGraphRequest alloc] initWithGraphPath:#"/v2.3/ID/feed" parameters:nil]
startWithCompletionHandler:^(FBSDKGraphRequestConnection *connection, id result, NSError *error) {
if (!error) {
NSLog(#"fetched user:%#", result);
}
}];
}
This gives me a JSON string of ALL data (AND I MEAN ALL) from a Facebook Page. It gives me the posts, IDs of those who liked the posts, every comment, every person who shared. I really just need the post itself, which is listed as 'message' in the JSON result. Is there a way I can do this in the API call, or does it have to be done after?
Also,
Is there any way to get it to pull the pictures that are associated with each post? I know how to get photos posted to page, but I just want to view the posts made to the page, and have it also pull up the picture.
You can filter out feed response as below
if ([FBSDKAccessToken currentAccessToken]) {
[[[FBSDKGraphRequest alloc] initWithGraphPath:#"/v2.3/ID/feed" parameters:[NSMutableDictionary dictionaryWithObject:#"id, message, link.picture" forKey:#"fields"]]
startWithCompletionHandler:^(FBSDKGraphRequestConnection *connection, id result, NSError *error) {
if (!error) {
NSLog(#"fetched user:%#", result);
}
}];
}
As you can check, I've mentioned the parameters which I information I requires to get filter out.
NOTE: You can filter out things according to your requirement.
Please check below link for available filter possibilities on facebook SDK.
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/v2.3/user/feed
I hope it will help you, Not sure about the picture you want to pull up but may be 'link.picture' in 'fields' will help you the picture you want to get.
Use
/{page_id}/feed?fields=id,message
With Graph API v2.4 this will be the standard usage that you have to specify each field.
this, it's the variable of NSString "link" that you want:
if ([FBSDKAccessToken currentAccessToken]) {
FBSDKGraphRequest *request = [[FBSDKGraphRequest alloc] initWithGraphPath:#"me" parameters:nil];
[request startWithCompletionHandler:^(FBSDKGraphRequestConnection *connection, id result, NSError *error) {
if (!error) {
NSDictionary *userData = (NSDictionary *)result;
NSString *facebookID = userData[#"id"];
NSString *link = userData[#"link"];
NSString *locale = userData[#"locale"];
NSString *timezone = userData[#"timezone"];
NSString *last_name = userData[#"last_name"];
NSString *email = userData[#"email"];
NSString *gender = userData[#"gender"];
NSString *first_name = userData[#"first_name"];
} else if (error) {
//tbd
}
}];
} else if (![FBSDKAccessToken currentAccessToken]) {
//tbd
}

ios facebook sdk get and display username

I have been working with the facebook sdk and parse and I am trying to retrieve a users facebook name but the documentation doesn't give me sufficient help and most tutorials on the net are out dated.
Can anyone tell how I can get a users name from the facebook sdk to display as a text label ? This would be greatly appreciated thanks.
You need to implement following FBLoginViewDelegate
- (void)loginViewFetchedUserInfo:(FBLoginView *)loginView user:(id<FBGraphUser>)user
{
NSLog(#"user is %# %#", [user objectForKey:#"email"], user.name);
}
You can retrieve it in this way:
FBRequest *request = [[FBRequest alloc] initWithSession:FBSession.activeSession graphPath:#"me"];
[request startWithCompletionHandler: ^(FBRequestConnection *connection,
NSDictionary < FBGraphUser > *my,
NSError *error)
{
NSString *username = my[#"username"];
}
I finally figured it out, you have to request the current users profile information than set your label with a "key" which in this case is called "name"
FBSDKGraphRequest *request = [[FBSDKGraphRequest alloc] initWithGraphPath:#"me"
parameters:nil];
[request startWithCompletionHandler:^(FBSDKGraphRequestConnection *connection, id result, NSError *error) {
NSLog(#"fetched user:%#", result);
_usernameText.text = result[#"name"];
}];

How to get large picture size from Facebook graph API for news feed

I am stuck with getting picture from Facebook Graph API for news feed with small size. This is the url I get https://fbcdn-photos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/t1.0-0/10363492_10202184985725870_7374705736674502849_s.jpg. Not sure how will get the picture with size o.jpg
Finally, figured it out. Here is what I did.
NSString *query = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"SELECT pid, object_id, src_big, src_big_width, src_big_height FROM photo WHERE object_id = %#", wallPost[#"object_id"]]; //begins from SELECT........
NSMutableDictionary * params = [NSMutableDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:
query, #"q",
nil];
[FBRequestConnection startWithGraphPath:#"/fql" parameters:params HTTPMethod:#"GET" completionHandler:^(FBRequestConnection *connection,
id result,
NSError *error) {
//do your stuff
if (!error) {
NSArray *photo = [result objectForKey:#"data"];
NSString *photoString = [[photo valueForKey:#"src_big"]componentsJoinedByString:#""];
//NSLog(#"result %# %#", photoString);
}
}];

Request infomation from facebook account iOS

I am making an app login feature with Facebook account. I have the Facebook tokenkey by running this command: appDelegate.session.accessTokenData.accessToken. Then I take username and user_ID like this:
FBRequest *request = [FBRequest requestForMe];
[request startWithCompletionHandler:^(FBRequestConnection *connection, id result, NSError *error) {
if (error == nil) {
// result is a dictionary with the user's Facebook data
NSDictionary *userData = (NSDictionary *)result;
NSString *facebookID = userData[#"id"];
NSLog(#"facebookID = %#",facebookID);
or
if (FBSession.activeSession.isOpen) {
[[FBRequest requestForMe] startWithCompletionHandler:
^(FBRequestConnection *connection,
NSDictionary<FBGraphUser> *user,
NSError *error) {
if (!error) {
self.userNameLabel.text = user.name;
self.userProfileImage.profileID = user.id;
}
}];
}
the result is the same and when I debug It always jump up in if(!error).
Where does this error come from?

Facebook iOS sdk to take user id

a question about Facebook sdk for iOS.
If I have an active session how can I get only the user ID?
Is there a simple way to obtain this id without use this example code?
if (FBSession.activeSession.isOpen) {
[[FBRequest requestForMe] startWithCompletionHandler:
^(FBRequestConnection *connection, NSDictionary<FBGraphUser> *aUser, NSError *error) {
if (!error) {
// I can take the user id..
}
}];
}
+ (NSString *)activeUserId {
return [FBSDKAccessToken currentAccessToken].userID;
}
if you are already logged in on facebook.
This is best way to take user id, instead of directly access using dot.
[[FBRequest requestForMe] startWithCompletionHandler:
^(FBRequestConnection *connection, NSDictionary<FBGraphUser> *aUser, NSError *error) {
if (!error) {
NSLog(#"User id %#",[aUser objectForKey:#"id"]);
}
}];
[FBRequestConnection startWithGraphPath:#"/me"
parameters:nil
HTTPMethod:#"GET"
completionHandler:^(
FBRequestConnection *connection,
NSDictionary *result,
NSError *error
) {
/* handle the result */
_fbId = [result objectForKey:#"id"];
}];
