I want to use social login feature of Gigya SDk in my iOS app.
But when user logs in using Gigya SDK from my mobile application, how come my server will get notified about this event?
The question is really to broad to answer. The Gigya SDKs are just a layer that sits atop the Gigya REST API. It's a simple request/response scheme that you use as a service that is consumed. If you need Gigya data sent to another 3rd party source, then you must facilitate that with your own code. The mobile SDK and Gigya API in general doesn't push data to 3rd party sources.

I am creating a web portal that controls the devices (like switching it on/off), visualize the data sent by those devices(endpoints). I have generated a java sdk. Do i use that sdk in my web portal or is it just for a device that sends telemetry data?
It is desirable to use generated sdk only for device that sends telemetry data.
There is no point in attaching sdk to your web application, as far as this part of the system doesn't treated as endpoint. It is bad practice to include endpoint sdk into the places, where lion's share of functionality would be ignored.
Is it possible to use the AWS mobile services (Cognito, Analytics, etc) without linking all the SDK in an Xcode project?
Background:
* While I am not new to AWS nor mobile programming, the following case is challenging:
We are shipping a mobile "framework" (not app) that uses our AWS for some parts (Authentication, logs).
And, as the AWS SDK has to be linked in the app project itself, this will require us asking all the clients (developers) to download and link it in their own projects.
What is used in the framework is just one request for authentication and one for logging (success/failure, disconnection), so no need for all the SDK.
I wonder if there is a possibility to request AWS services without linking against the SDK?
I know it's possible to put then under an umbrella SDK, or do some cherry picking from their git repository, but both of these seem like overkill.
As the request itself is a simple URL with Get/Post, is there a possibility (or tutorial) on constructing the request manually via NSURLConnexion/NSURLSession, etc?
Thank you
Talking to the AWS APIs is actually not that hard. The main difficulty is signing your http requests, and that's not nearly as bad as it sounds. Which leaves xml parsing accounting for most of the unpleasantness.
I've done it in go. The most informative part is probably the signing tests.
Indeed, it is possible. You will have to code calls to AWS at the REST level. Everything you need is in the documentation of AWS.
For instance, if you needed to execute actions on EC2, here's what you'd have to code:
http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/APIReference/Query-Requests.html#structure-of-a-get-request
You can call the HTTP APIs directly. Since the AWS Mobile SDK for iOS and Android are open source, you can look at them directly. Find the AWS Mobile SDK for iOS Source on Github, and the AWS Mobile SDK for Android on Github. Since you mentioned you need authentication request on iOS I am guessing you're looking for the Cognito Identity in AWSCore source.
I want to use Firebase with a BlackBerry 10 Native + Cascades App.
The problem is Firebase has no libraries for BlackBerry 10. I have done some research saying that I can use the REST API, but I cannot find anywhere on how to do email or facebook login via pure REST. Everything involves downloading the Javascript API which I cannot do as QML support with JS is giving me issues.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
By definition, you can't do authentication via REST. It requires that a user log into a third party service and enter credentials (not possible without a UI). You could create your own UI for authentication and generate your own custom tokens.
Once you have a token, you can pass that to the REST API by adding ?auth= to the URL.
I have a appcelerator titanium app, and I would like to use the same users and password for other apps, not related to appcelerator ACS or titanium, the question is: can I use appcelerator ACS as oauth for other applications?
I'm not familiar with ACS to much but from documentation I can find below:
it is not proffered as the ACS mention in its documentation
Your app must prove that it is allowed to talk to ACS. This keeps your
data secure by preventing anyone from making requests to ACS that
impersonate your app.
but you can create new app with new client-id as in ACS mention that:
You can integrate ACS into your application using the REST API, the
Titanium SDK, or the ACS native iOS and Android SDKs.

Google released nice feature called Over-The-Air Installs. But documentation has example only for google's sign-in button.
Checked Google API PHP Client and it doesn't have anything related. Tried adding apppackagename and app_package_name to authorization url - didn't help. Another problem is that Google doesn't enable this feature for all clients.
Is it possible to use it via oauth triggered on server-side? Does Google somehow indicate that you're allowed to use this feature?
It is currently not possible to trigger Over-The-Air Installs using the server-side flow. It is recommended that you use the client-server flow as described and demonstrated in the quick-start sample apps instead of using a server-side flow.
You can direct users to install the app at the conclusion of your install by linking to your app in the play store. From the play store, the user could still install your app directly to their device, it would just not happen in the sign-in dialog.
Even hybrid client-server flow needs to implement the "sign-in button" to your page...

Don't know why Google is doing this way!
