I have just downloaded Tableau on my iPad.
However it asks me for a server at start.
What should I use?
I know there is a free tableau server. What is it?
After I entered will I be able to open my tableau files designed on my mac?
Thank you!!!
Tableau Public is the free version of Tableau Server:http://www.tableausoftware.com/tableau-public-ipad
No. The Tableau mobile app is essentially a reskinned mobile browser optimised for use with published Tableau workbooks, and thus can only be used in conjunction with Tableau Public, Tableau Online (a SaaS version of Tableau Server) or an on-premise installation of Tableau Server

I have a requirement that I need to fetch login credentials input from another desktop server and currently we are using Appium for iOS mobile app automation . How to integrate this with Appium? Is this possible? Or any alternative ways along with Appium? Any internet example could be great help.
You would have your language of choice read the variable from a file or stream. How you get it to those places is up to you and outside the realm of Appium per se and dependent on how your server functions. Without more detail, no more help can be provided.
I need to connect my cell phone to the IoT sensors (Say BLEs) and collect the data which needs to be sent or stored into Azure. How can I do that? Is there any App (preferably mobile App) through which I can handle my IoT devices and push the data to MS Azure using any gateways? If yes, how can I do that? Links of any articles or materials and videos related to this will be helpful. Thanks.
Currently there is no such out of box mobile app to use.
If you like to develop an app by yourself you need connect to sensors and collect data and connect mobile device to Azure IoT Hub and send Device-To-Cloud message.
Also here is a Azure IoT and Mobile sample application: MyDriving. It is a typical Internet of Things (IoT) solution that gathers telemetry from devices, processes that data in the cloud. You can customize for your deployment.
I'm a software engineer looking for a multi mobile platform SDK (Surface Pro, Surface RT, iOS) to develop an application for merchant navy.
To make things short:
the mariners are application users and will carry a device all day long (12h) on their vessel in order to fill their daily check list.
The check list is uploaded to application on the mobile device at start of day.
To get this daily check list, the end user will connect the mobile device to onboard computer (USB,Wifi,Bluetooth?)
When the day is done, the end user will connect back to onboard computer and start pushing back the user data to a local database or storage.
Any tips would be appreciated on what mobile technology and SDK I should start on.
Look at MS visual studio - create a hybrid mobile -HTML5 / JS (AngularJS) along with WINJS to target mulitple devices
I had installed tableau server and tableau desktop in my pc. I created a workbook in tableau desktop and published in tableau server. Now i am able to see my workbook from tableau server & browser also. But i am not able to to see it from my ipad tableau mobile app or from ipad browser also because "localhost:8080" is the domain name. My question is why the url is not coming like xx.xxx.xx.xx:yyyy this. I guess if it is coming like this, then i am able to access it from my ipad app. Is my understanding right? Do i need to set any other configurations in tableau server. Please help me.
The first thing to check is whether it is possible to view the Tableau Server site using http://SERVERHOSTNAME:8080 on your PC, then to confirm that port 8080 is open to external access.
Once that is done, it should be possible to connect to your Tableau Server from your iPad (using the Tableau mobile app, or Safari) using that same URL.
I am working on a Default phonebook contacts application, In my app i m trying to transfer my BB contacts to Iphone device. Currently doing R & D on this task.
Please let me know, as blackberry is known for its security, after that, is this task possible?
Thanxx i advance.
There is a simple way to transfer contacts between different mobile devices. This way does not involve programming skills and does not need any special custom software installed.
Connect your blackberry to your computer and synchronize contacts with your mail client, let say Outlook.
Disconnect blackberry, and connect iPhone to your computer and synchronize contacts with Outlook again.
That's it.
There is no way to transfer contacts directly using your application unless you have documentation on the formats and synchronization protocols for both of the platforms.
