I'm trying to get an RSS feed for the most recent videos uploaded to YouTube. Not by a specific user or that contains a specific keyword - I'm looking for a feed link that will show all the most recent videos in the order they're published.
Here's what I got so far but it's definitely missing a ton:

Does anyone know a link to YouTube's most recent uploads RSS feed?
You can no longer get the most recent that was deprecated on the 12th September 2013. The only feed you can now get seems to be most_popular if you check YouTube Feeds Docs and scroll down to standard feeds you will find a note that states that it was deprecated.
Not sure what you are doing with the link you have given though as that seems to give you the most recent videos with the latest at the top sorted at date when I tried it. If you can be a bit more specific as to what you are trying to do I may be able to help further.

What is going wrong?
In case you are looking to get the latest videos of a channel:
Get the channels upload playlist from Channels
Get the latest videos in the channels upload playlist from PlaylistItems
Alternatively, you can use the channels RSS feed:
https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id={ChannelId}
https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?user={User}
This does not replace the full search sorted by date function however.
Thanks YouTube for making me work on a Sunday, all I wanted was to watch the latest videos from my favorite channels. At least I don't have to wait for a fix anymore, good luck to those less lucky!

I want to get the latest video posted to a playlist using Youtube Data Api.
If I do this
GET https://www.googleapis.com/youtube/v3/playlistItems?playlistId=<id>
It will get the videos from the list sorted from oldest to newest and paginated. If I want to get the latest all that I can think of is iterating over the pages until I get to the last one and picking the last item in the last page.
Anybody knows a better way to do this?

I don't believe you can do this with the current api version. A workaround might be to instead perform a search such that your request looks like this:

I am working with a Wordpress Plugin that can display a Youtube Search Results into Video Playlist.
My settings are:

Author
Content- channel/keyword
My first Approach was this:
with this api as reference,
search for the keyword > display the relevant results according to the author as playlist
*I'm in doubt if I this is possible, coding 30%
*I'm not sure where could I use my settings for Content
but then when my coding is in progress I recently bumped an article that says Youtube Search is differrent on Searching a Youtube Playlist
Now I can't continue my coding because I'm not sure If I'm doing it
right. Can you give me some advise with this situation or show me some
similar project/examples?
You don't have to write any YouTube Data API code for this; it's a built-in feature of the YouTube Player.
This blog post has an example of loading a list player that takes its content from the recent uploads of a channel. You can do something similar by setting listType=search&list=SEARCH_TERM, where SEARCH_TERM is whatever string you want to search for (be sure to URL escape it). You can read more in the documentation.
As pointed out in the question How do I fetch comments in version 3 of the YouTube API?, there is currently no way of fetching video comments using version 3 of the YouTube API. Now I'm trying to figure it out using version 2 instead.
What I want is the latest comment on any of my uploaded videos, in other words the latest comment in the "aggregated" comment feed of all my videos.
It seems like the only way to do this is too fetch all videos, and then make a call for each of them to get the comments. With a few hundred uploaded videos, this becomes very expensive in terms of number of API calls and total time for completion.
Is there a simpler and/or better way?
There's no way to be "notified" via the API when a video gets a new comment, so you're going to have to do some polling. The comments feed for a given video id, e.g. https://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos/fhWaJi1Hsfo/comments?v=2 for video id fhWaJi1Hsfo, is sorted in reverse-chronological order by default, so the last comment added should always be first in the list of entries.
Making a request for the comments feed of several hundred videos, even if you do that a couple of times a day, doesn't sound like an unreasonable amount of traffic. You should follow the best practices outlined in this blog post if you do run into any quota issues, though.
A long time ago, I developed a chrome extension that is able to scrobble the songs you listen to on youtube (via your last.fm account). What I did was simply taking the title of the video and assuming it had the proper format: "Artist - Track name" (obviously, I would send a request to last.fm, confirming it was a proper artist/song pair, before scrobbling). Recently (well, probably a couple of months ago) youtube started to provide artist and song information directly under the video (see image), and I was wondering how best to extract this information.
I was hoping to retrieve the information via the youtube feed api call (http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos/videoID?alt=json), but it doesn't apear to be featured in the returned json element. Alternatly, I could try extracting it via xpath, but I figure that might lead to complications when no artist/song information is present. If anybody could help me extract this information, and thereby greatly improving my extension, I would be very grateful.
I don't think YouTube API can provide you with the artist name
as the videos can be other things that songs
you need to stick with what you have , unless they updated there API
