i am evaluating Apache Sling as a potential backend CMS. I like how easy it is to push / get new content via rest. However, I also need to be able to search the content via REST. I compiled all the source code and am running their standalone jar. There are like 100 bundles installed, but I can't find a single rest query.
Some old documentation says you can do /content/mynode.query.json?
But this is not working, and there is no help on whether its supported or not. Honestly the only search option I found was in the console via /.explore.search.html/ which returns web pages.
How can you do restful search using sling?
The JsonQueryServlet, which provides an HTTP search interface was moved to a separate bundle as part of SLING-2226. See that issue's page for how to use it, and there's a related blog post at http://in-the-sling.blogspot.ch/2008/09/how-to-use-json-query-servlet.html

I'm trying to integrate a vue.js application into a typo3 page.
I have a full functional TYPO3 instance where I can create own pages, edit the content and more. Now I want to add an existing vue.js application within this page.
Therefore I created an extension which added all necessary resources (js, css) and added an own content type which controls the integrations and configurations. The content type outputs a vue.js entry point. So far everything works. Smaller vue.js applications works as they should.
Now comes the challenge: When I want to create a more complex application which relies on the router functionality, I run into a problem.
Let's assume, I integrate my application into the page /shop and my application tries to render a product under /shop/product/some-id. This doesn't work. The URL processing is done by TYPO3 (as designed).
I tried to find a solution within the documentation but I'm not sure what I should search. I need a way to output the same page (/shop) regardless the following path. Does someone have a hint?
I found a solution. Within TYPO3 v8 is it possible to use the realurl extension for this purpose.
It is possible to define an own decode preprocessing function and analyse the current url.
$GLOBALS['TYPO3_CONF_VARS']['EXTCONF']['realurl']['decodeSpURL_preProc'][] = RealUrlManipulation::class . '->decodeSpURL_preProc';
Within this method is it possible to change the url for TYPO3 inner processing and set it to an known url.
Is there an available URL redirect for Umbraco 7.4? I mean I'm aware that there is a URL Redirect Management Tools in Umbraco 7.5 but we are using the lower version and it doesn't have that. Is there a way to achieve the same result? The scenario is this.
We created an web.com/about-us page. Now this is cached in google search now.
We then decided to change about-us to corporate now the cached version is still pointing to about-us where in fact the new URL now is web.com/corporate
How can I achieve a URL redirect? If someone manually typed or clicked on the cached url like about-us how can Umbraco 7.4 redirects it to the correct site? Would appreciate a step by step process if possible since I'm still new in Umbraco
you can use something like SEO Checker to manage this for you - there are also other plugins available that can do the redirection management.

As my first post has been hidden due to lack of detail, which is understandable, I am adding this new answer with more details.
We use UrlTracker for our projects - it is a nuget package that you install and then you can start using it. This can help.
The Url Tracker is used to manage URLs within umbraco and it automatically tracks URL changes, for instance when a node is renamed, this makes sure the old URL will redirect to the new location. Using this; you can also create your own redirects, based on a simple URL or using a Regex pattern. This is especially handy while migrating existing indexed URLs to your new website.
Please check this umbraco package web page for more details. Alternative links can be found below, hope this helps.

In VS 2012, I am attempting to create an MVC 4 web application with jQuery calls to a Web API project. (Other devs will be consuming the API with our current, native app, and probably adding to the API in the future.) So I have one project that is the Web API, and another project that is the MVC 4 website. I can only set one of them to run, and they use localhost:xxxxx.
How do I debug changes to both? For example, let's say I add a new API path /api/customer/get and then a new jQuery ajax call to that path and do something with the resulting JSON. I've changed code in both projects and want to follow it end-to-end; how do I launch both? How do I debug both?
Just to be clear, the MVC app isn't making server-side calls to the API, I'm using MVC mostly to be able to easily use bundling, minification, and (hopefully) pre-compiled Handlebars templates in .NET; the API calls are coming from jQuery. As I am still relatively new to these technologies, alternate suggestions are welcome.
Thank you in advance.
I had the same problem and have found a solution from here:
forums.asp.net
The fix is to do the following:
In your solution file, click properties go to the Startup project node (if it is not already selected)
Next select Multiple startup projects. Select your website and your webservice and in the Action column make sure both of them have "Start" selected.
Now when you debug your website and put a break point in your webservice, it should hit the break point.
Coming late to the party but in case anyone else is looking for a solution, this is what was best for me: Set the Api project up to be the starting project (I needed to limit to one startup so that I could flip between browsers more easily). After firing up the service project, right click on the web/ui project and select debug, start new instance. You'll have both running and you'll seamlessly step from web to api.
I had a similar problem with my web api project. My solution consisted of an angular front end with 2 web api projects on the backend. One web api project handled "authorization" and the other handled "resources". I used the following tutorial by Taiseer Joudeh as a starting point:
http://bitoftech.net/2014/09/24/decouple-owin-authorization-server-resource-server-oauth-2-0-web-api/
Breakpoints worked on the "authorization server"... but not on the "resource server". I compared the packages from the two projects to see what was different. Once I added "Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.Cors" to the "resource server" project, the breakpoints starting working.
I had a problem with part 3 of an orchard tutorial...
so I was attempting to download the source code for part 4 and continue on from there (which can be found about 3/4 of the way down at the end of the tutorial on the page http://skywalkersoftwaredevelopment.net/blog/writing-an-orchard-webshop-module-from-scratch-part-4
However when I run part 4 from webmatrix I get the error(see below)
im guessing this is because iv only downloaded the code but i need to put it inside a seperate project? is this correct? can someone advise me how to do this?
thanks for any replies
The error states that there is no default document configured in IIS. Attempt to access the document using the full URL.
For instance http://localhost:28266/default.aspx (or similar)
You can then adjust IIS to have the correct default document (if desired)
Edit: After reviewing the referenced ZIP archive.
This looks like a changed file zip for the application. This isn't a complete ASP.NET MVC application by itself and, as such, isn't viewable stand alone. I don't have the time to parse the exact steps required to make this application work alongside the demos provided, but be sure you're either combining all of the previous files and folders in order or follow the instructions detailed by the author.
As referenced, this is not a complete ASP.NET MVC application and isn't ready to be immediately rendered by IIS.
The problem is probably that the application can't start for some reason, which causes IIS to attempt to respond to the request with other handlers. Because there is no default document defined (and there shouldn't), it tries to do a directory listing, which is not allowed in your configuration. Do not focus on what IIS is telling you but rather on why your application doesn't run.
Things to check:
you have built the application
you are running in full trust
you are running in integrated mode
there is no exception in app_data/logs
you added the module to a working Orchard instance, in its Modules directory
I have a plugin with domain, controller and view pages. (Using grails 1.3.6)
I run the plugin as standalone, the views work fine. URL: http://localhost:8080/sample-plugin/gp/list. I am able to view the list page.
I installed the plugin into a main application i.e. plugin-test. Start as run-app within STS and browse to http://localhost:8080/plugin-test/gp/list. I am able to view the list page.
I bundle the application as war i.e. plugin-test.war and deploy to tomcat. When I browse to http://localhost:8181/plugin-test/gp/list I get a 404 error! I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
I have been trying to resolve it for quite sometime now and still no luck. The same main application works fine in STS but not in tomcat.
HTTP Status 404 - /plugin-test/WEB-INF/grails-app/views/gp/list.jsp
type Status report
message /plugin-test/WEB-INF/grails-app/views/gp/list.jsp
description The requested resource (/plugin-test/WEB-INF/grails-app/views/gp/list.jsp) is not available.
Please help.
Thank you.

This sounds worryingly familiar, as I spent a while figuring out this (or a very similar) issue. I ended up raising this Grails bug report:
Plugin layout not found in war when installed from BuildConfig.groovy
Have you installed the plugin as using the new BuidConfig dependency technique? The JIRA documents my workaround.
Sharing some of my lessons learned after experiencing the same exact issue (1.3.7):
Double check your HTML source to make sure that your template really isn't being included. Mine was being included, but my CSS/image URLs were wrong (only while running as a war)...so I wrongly assumed that my template wasn't there.
Don't use the ui performance tags for referencing your static content...doesn't appear to work, even if the plugin attribute is specified.
Don't name your layout main.gsp. You're guaranteed to have conflicts.
Don't use absolute=true on your g:resource tags. This doesn't appear to append the pluginContextPath to the absolute url, even if you specify dir="${pluginContextPath}"
Don't use pluginContextPath, as it's no longer required: http://grails.org/doc/latest/guide/single.html#6.3%20Tag%20Libraries (search "Plugin Paths")
In your g:resource tags in your plugin layout, make sure you specify the plugin attribute. Set it to the name of your plugin.
Move your static images/css from your plugin to a web server. If each application using your plugin has its own copy, your users aren't going to benefit from caching when bouncing between apps.
Note that all of the above applies to the layout gsp in your plugin project, not your consuming application.
