Consider that we have a formula: buttona texta buttonb textb buttonc textc buttond text. Fixed number of buttons (each of which has different length of course) and possibly dynamic number of text labels.
What is the most easiest way to get a UIView with liquid buttons as well as text labels based on that? Please, see an example.
Of course we can find a correlation with html displaying. Perhaps we have existing components to do that?
You may achieve this using NSAttributedString class. Check this link for examples.

What I want to implement
I am looking for a way to display a title label and a detail text label in a NSMenuItem.
Preferably it would look something like this:
The Title Label is left aligned with all the other NSMenuItem's
titles
The Detail Text Label is right-aligned
The Detail Text Label has a different text color than the title
Selection/Submenus etc. work as expected
What have I tried already
By reading the documentation I found the following possible implementations:
Create a custom NSView and set NSMenuItem.view
Use a default NSMenuItem and use a NSAttributedString
First I tried to use a custom NSView. However I could not get the NSMenuItem to size correctly in order to display all the available text. I guess some autoresizing masks do not work correctly but I am not sure. Also this way I would need to re-implement selection/arrow for the submenu, ...
Then I started to experiment with NSAttributedString. I calculate the title with the most characters and then pad the string with title += string.padding(toLength: maxTitleLength, withPad: " ", startingAt: 0). The NSAttributedString colors the title and the detail label differently. However this does not seem to work since the detail labels are not correctly aligned although the title is padded to the same length. I guess this makes sense since characters have different widths?
TL;DR - Question
So is there any other way to implement the desired design which I did not find? Do you have any advice for me on how to implement this?
Nevermind I found the answer myself. Actually it works for me now by using the view property of the NSMenuItem to set a custom view. This answer lead me to the right direction: Highlighting a NSMenuItem with a custom view?.
I have following text in UILabel. I want to underline both text. and give them click event and open related link.
I Agree to the Terms & Conditions and Hotel Booking and Cancellation Policies
but problem is I couldn't give separate click event for both underlined text.
What is the best way to do that?
I know one option give separate label for all four string. but it is harder to maintain position of all that label for different sizes
Appreciate for help!!!!
take a look of this library Might be it will help you: https://github.com/TTTAttributedLabel/TTTAttributedLabel
Suggest to change the UI design. A possible work around I found is add UILabel below this text label/button with text contains a number of under scores(_) and pin it with auto layout. N.B: It's never ever a good practice at all.
I am looking to improve my app's signup and login form from standard text boxes to using table rows (or something similar).
I am pretty much inspired by the forms which SnapChat have created, which you can see below...
I'm trying to figure out how they accomplished this, and am thinking it must be a table view with 3 cells (Static?), and the text below is part of the footer of that selection of cells.
How is one able to then capture data into it directly?
Am I right in maybe assuming that each cell is 'custom' with a text field in each one (with placeholder text) with a no-borders style on the text field?
Or has this been achieved via some other way?
Keen to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
You absolutely could do that with a table view. But I don't think this one is. Notice the divider lines start at the far left rather than at 15 pixels in (with the text). The separator lines are also two pixels tall rather than one. So I'd say it's a safe bet that it's just a simple view with 1 pixel tall UIView's for lines.
Is it possible to add a text link into a TextView? I want the link to perhaps behave like a button, where I can assign an action to it.
EDIT: When I say assign an action, I mean actually giving it something in the code. I'm wondering if it's possible to dynamically add a "button" into text that I can assign a coded action to.
Live scenario
Think of something like a dictionary app. Maybe the definition of one word uses another word that you might not know the definition of, so being able to click on that word to instantly search it rather than having to type it in would be a nice user friendly feature. It seems rather unlikely, though, I guess.
I would recommend using NIAttributedLabel from Nimbus, an open source iOS library. You can specify text ranges that are links, and you get delegate messages sent when a user taps on it.
Main Nimbus site: http://nimbuskit.info/
NIAttributedLabel docs: http://docs.nimbuskit.info/interface_n_i_attributed_label.html
in the inspector, go to the Text View Attributes tab then make sure "Detect Links" is checked.
Yes you can. Add the URL into the text view, then open up the Attributes Inspector. You will see an option in there to detect links.
I know of a way, but its a LOT of work. First, you have an NSAttributedString that you have the text view display. Second, attribute the range of text you want to be the button. Third, assign a tap gesture recognizer to the text view and in the method called by the recognizer, you'll use core text to determine if the tap happened over the range of text that represents the buttons.
Heres how youll use core text: create a framesetter with the attributed string. Create a frame from the framsetter with the shape of a square that is the frame of the text view, inset by the padding of the text view. The frame will allow you to get the y origins of every line in the text view and and once you know what line the tap happened on, you can use the line to then figure out exactly what character was tapped on that line by giving it an x offset. Once you know character index on the line, you can add it to the beginning of the range of the line and get the index of the character within the whole string. Then you can check if its within the range of the text that is your button. If it is, you can then call a method to simulate a target action type behavior.
Ive explained the process of how to accomplish this and specified what kinds of core text objects youll need, ill let you look up the specific api details:
https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/Carbon/Reference/CoreText_Framework_Ref/_index.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40005304
You can also use my objc core text wrapper:

What about CoreText? It Can draw many kinds of Text .
I have some textfield with text like "Click #button1, then #button2". Have you got any idea how to replace keywords by images ? I must do it in AS2 :/ I know there is htmlText in textField, but useing it I can only use one image, and image can only align left or right site.
Very advanced stuff. I can tell you there is no 'out of the box' solution like using html text fields or something similar. Especially if you want to mimic nearly html behaviour you have to code advanced routines that can : 1. recognize your keywords. You should google for tokenizers and 2. layout textfields according to occuring images and textblocks. Again, thats advanced!
