Informix Dynamic Server version 7 - informix

I am trying to install informix dynamic server version 7.
IBM site provide links to "Informix" version 11 Plus.
Anyone knows how can I reach the installation files?

Informix 7.31 (last in 7.x family) support ended in 2009. So you won't find the installation files anywhere. And you may have troubles installing such an old product on today's operating systems.
There was no "free" version of Informix 7 as there is today for current versions.
If you actually "own" the product you may try to contact IBM and explain why you need it.
It would also be nice to know why you need it? Do you need to restore some old backup?

Offline Installer / Fixed Version Installer for WebView2 Runtime

The road map seems rather intransparent to me. Is this planned? Is there any info on a potential release date? We require to use WebView2 on machines that aren't necessarily connected to the internet. The full browser would not be needed, which is why the idea of WebView2 Runtime seems like the way to go. As of right now however the installer needs to connect to the internet.
I work on the WebView2 project. The installer you linked to is actually the standalone evergreen installer that can be used entirely offline :). If the device is online, the installed runtime will try to update itself, but offline it works fine too just not getting any updates. If you run a later version of the installer when a older version is already installed, the installer will update the version of WebView2 Runtime on the device (this is basically how you can update the evergreen runtime offline). Right now the Runtime and installer are under preview and we strongly advise against redistributing it outside your org/company. We are targeting Q4 this year for GA.
Fixed version is not out for preview yet. You can find our roadmap with dates on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/roadmap.

Informix open admin tool

Now that OAT (open admin tool) for Informix no longer appears in the Informix installation package, has IBM or the community abandoned it? Is this still an active project? I have not found a strightforward answer to this question. Any good alternatives? Thanks.
You can still get Informix OpenAdmin Tool as part of the IBM Informix ClientSDK. However, you'll have to download an older version of the ClientSDK from IBM Passport Advantage. OAT will be deprecated at some point. The Informix development team is working on a alternative modern tool. Stay tuned and connected with the Informix community.

Is it possible to install Delphi 7 on Win 7?

I am planning to upgrade my OS to Win 7 (32bit or 64bit). I would like to know whether we can install and run Delphi 7 on Win 7 successfully or not.Share your thoughts on installation of 3rd party components as well.
This would help me to take decision regarding OS up-gradation.
I am using Delphi 7.0 on Windows 7, 64 bit, without issues. I have previously installed it on Windows 7, 32 bit and used it without issues as well.
Windows will bother you about an incompatibility when you run the installer. You should probably ensure that anybody using Delphi 7 will have full write access to the folders in Program Files that need to be writeable by Delphi 7.
I have my copy installed in Program Files, and I only use it from an account with admin priveleges, so I can write/modify files inside the Delphi installed folders, without problems.
Some people think it's better to install to C:\Delphi7.
Nobody can know for sure about your components, but you should just try them.
I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. When installing delphi 7 it prompt for compatibility issue. Just accept it, click run. Then delphi 7 installed succesfully without problem. I'm installed it on X:/app/Delphi7. 3rd party component added without problem, example i'm adding AlphaSkin component without problem.

Jet Engine not found

I'm trying to debug Delphi application in Delphi 7.
I'm getting error " Jet Engine v3.5 not found
I downloaded and installed Microsoft Jet Engine v 3.5 , but this didn't solve the problem
Please help with error
Thank you in advance.
What version of Windows are you working? (XP for the Screen -thanks DR-)
Update the MDAC for your system version. It include all the libraries for use Jet Engine. It's not normal, all the modern operating systems include this libraries.
There are a old utility from Microsoft called Component Checker, execute it to get the version of libraries installed in your system.
You can read the How to check for MDAC version document, which have some words about it.
Regards.
Additionally you can check these two articles from MSDN:
How To Ensure Jet 3.5 Is Installed Correctly (Part I)
How To Ensure Jet 3.5 Is Installed Correctly (Part II)

Delphi 2009 Upgrade Question

i bought yesterday an upgrade to Delphi 2009 Pro. Now i have the problem that i have a version of Delphi 5 Enterprise, but it's registered, but the account has been lost.
Is there a way to get the Delphi 5 version to be moved to my account, so that i can register the Delphi 2009 Pro.
Otherwise i also got a Delphi 3 Pro laying around here, which also should be enough for upgrading, but how can i get this registered?
My other Delphi's are Delphi 1, Delphi 2 Developer and Delphi 3 Standard as well as some Personal Versions.
Has anybody a good idea what i should be doing now? The best would be to move the Enterprise Delphi to my current account.
Cheers, murphy
You can try to contact Embarcadero. If you have a registered version they must have records of that. It will be helpful if you know the email address that was used to register the account.
Delphi 2009 upgrade is available to owners of any earlier version of Delphi, so you should be able to upgrade from Delphi 3.
You are probably making a mountain out of a molehill. If you haven't tried to install it yet then I would cross that bridge when you come to it. I don't believe having your Delphi 5 or 3 install associated with your account will make any difference. I am pretty sure Delphi 5 and earlier didn't have an activation, so there probably isn't anything to transfer.
More likely you will have trouble if the person you purchased it from used up the activations for 2009. Additionally, last I checked, they only support purchasing Delphi from a licensed reseller, which it sounds like wasn't the case.
I hope it works out for you though. Delphi 2009 is a great release and well worth the upgrade!
Delphi 5 doesn’t require online activation. The key should be enough to get it properly installed.
