Apps UIWebView stuck on landscape on iPad on iOS 7 - ipad

I have an iOS 5 + app I am getting ready for iOS 7.
I have a standard TabBar based app loading in viewcontrollers, one of which loads in a webView.
This webview has a landscape and portrait mode as the app can be rotated, this works fine on all devices except iPad running iOS 7.
The issue being the webview is always displayed as landscape on iPad on iOS 7 irrespective of the orientation, iOS 7 gets rid of the 2x button that you used to get with iPhone apps running on an iPad so it is faux full screen.
The app opens in portrait mode, if I rotate the iPad everything else rotates - all other views adjust and reposition - except the html in the webview - it is stuck on landscape.
This happens on device and simulator
The question I suppose is why? has anyone else had experience of this?
Many thanks

Try setting constraints on the UIWebView. In the storyboard, look for the menu icons on the bottom right, and select the one that looks like a tie fighter. Then select 'Add Missing Constraints' or 'Reset to Suggested Constraints'. then when your View changes (orientation), the space constraints will adjust.

xamarin debug on iPad

I am developing a iOS app with xamarin. If I debug it in a physical machine (iPad) or a iPad simulator, it only shows a white screen. But it works if I debug with iPhone simulator.
What is the cause of the issue?
Thanks.
Updates :
I found that it is due to the project only have an iPhone view. And it leads to another question - When I would like to change the width and height of content in iPad view, all views will change at the same time. Does it mean I need to create different storyboard for each screen size?
Thanks.
The white screen issue is related to the zoom level on your simulator. On the Simulator, look at the Window menu and it will be either Zoom or Scale. Try setting Scale to 50%.

Splash screen requirement iOS app - Portrait

I am developing an iPhone app in Xcode 7 which will only open in portrait mode. My question is do I need to provide the launch/splash/default screen also for landscape mode or providing it in the various portrait mode sizes will be sufficient?
I think adding only the portrait ones should work for you. Hope you are using xcassets for managing splash screens. There, You can select the orientations and devices which you want to support. Here is a screenshot.
NOTE: This is from Xcode 6.4. Hope it's something similar in Xcode 7.
Design the LaunchScreen.xib file to look as your desired splash screen. Set proper constraints to your design elements/views. And thats it! It will appear as expected on any orientation.
For example:
If you want your app logo to appear in the center on app launch as splash screen, set your logo in a image view at center, give constraints for horizontally centering, vertically centering and height and width constraints. Now run the app by keeping simulator in various orientations and your launch screen will appear same in all orientations.

iPad screen doesn't support autolayout

I have created view using autolayout it works fine in all iPhone devices but it left some blank space at left, right, top and bottom on iPad.I tried to make another xib specially for iPad which is 768*1024 but still facing same problem.
here is the screenshot of iPad output.
The problem is that you forgot to make this a universal app. So it is running on the iPad in emulation mode as an iPhone app in a reduced frame.

Black bar at the bottom after update to iOS 8

I have an app on the store and I started working on the update for iOS 8 a while ago, everything seemed to work fine except for this problem I'm having with the layouts. No matter what device I test the app on, there's always a black bar at the bottom (or the side on landscape mode).
Test on iPhone 5S
Test on iPhone 4S
Is this an issue with iOS 8? How can I solve it?
I had this same issue with the thin bar along one side when an iOS 8 device was rotated to landscape. I found the solution to this problem here: Building project with Xcode 6 (iOS 8 SDK) causes landscape rotation rendering issue on iPad
The fix I did was to go to MainWindow.xib, select the Window, then go to the Attributes inspector and select the two check boxes for Visible at Launch and Full Screen at Launch.
