How can I start a process in mono using the Process.Start API? My best guess would be the following (in F#):

This seems to work in linux, but it is obviously not correct in Mono/Windows. Is there any way I could obtain the location of the mono executable programmatically?
It turns out that you can basically just Process.Start with just the target executable path, no need to specify the mono executable.
You can find the location of Mono on windows using the following registry keys
$version = HKLM_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Novell\Mono\DefaultCLR
$monoprefix = HKLM_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Novell\Mono\$version\SdkInstallRoot
where you use the version you found to find the mono prefix.

Rather than starting a new instance of the CLR, you can start assemblies from within your existing instance. Microsoft documents the relevant functionality here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/yk22e11a%28v=vs.110%29.aspx. Mono implements this as well.
What you have to do is create a new AppDomain to provide you with an execution environment isolated from your current one, load an assembly in there, and execute it.
Example:

I have a situation where I want to import my graph data to database.I am having janusgraph(latest version) running with cassandra(version 3) and elasticsearch(version 6.6.0) using Docker.I have been suggested to use gryo format.So I have tried this command

ToInputStream is not a function of Gremlin or JanusGraph. I believe that it is only a function of IBM Compose so unless you are running JanusGraph on that specific platform, this command will not work.
Versions of JanusGraph that utilize TinkerPop 3.4.x will support the io() step and this is the preferred manner in which to load gryo (as well as graphson and graphml) files.

Note that if you are connecting remotely - it seems you are sending scripts to the Docker instance given your error - then be sure that that "graph.kryo" file path is accessible to Docker. That's what's nice about ToInputStream from Compose as it allows you to access remote sources.

Why this ugly logging after each step you might ask? Well this code fails without showing me an error. (or at least I can't find the error message)

So the 5th log message is never printed which means the following statement never completes:

This is a simplified version of some old code I have to work with and which I also found online as being valid. However it doesn't work. This add-on wasn't developped using the new SDK with jpm. Quite frankly I don't know how and when it was developped but I need to run some tests on it. It comes with a few source files ordered in a components and a modules directory and a chrome.manifest and install.rdf in the root. I copied these files to the extension directory of Mozilla in order for it to work. The extension executes but there seems to be a problem with ctypes. Aren't ctypes fully supported anymore or are these old style add-on no longer valid for the modern Firefox?

I think they landed a a patch to disallow making a pointer from buffers. I'll double check.

Ah per this: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/js-ctypes/Using_js-ctypes/Working_with_ArrayBuffers, you don't have to wrap it with a ctypes.uint8_t.ptr just pass it like a.buffer to wherever you need it. :)
If I execute a binary in a clearcase view, and look at /proc/self/exe for that on Linux, I see something like the following:

The clang llvm-config program, not unreasonably, uses this output to try to figure out the absolute fully qualified path that it is located in (I assume in case argv[0] isn't fully qualified).
Is there a way to find the location within the view that this corresponds to. For example, in this case, the llvm-config exe is actually in:
/vbs/bldsupp/linuxamd64/clang/debug/bin
(I'm wondering if it's feasible to modify clang's GetExecutablePath() function to figure this out.)
No trivial solution here (for an old version of ClearCase though):
The technote "PK27447: WITHIN A CLEARCASE DYNAMIC VIEW, THE READLINK() CALL ON LINUX RETURNS THE WRONG PATH FOR THE EXECUTABLE'S /PROC/SELF/EXE VALUE" suggests:

Use getcwd(), get_current_dir_name(), getwd() in applications slated for a VOB/View context
Create an interposer library to intercept the readlink() call, and modify to use any of the above calls to return the proper data
The cause:
/proc/self/exe returns the improper path while getcwd succeeds.
Unfortunately, for /proc/self/exe to return the proper value [from within a VOB/View context] would require a change within the Linux kernel to allow MVFS to "override" the present setting.
IBM LTC has been working on having the Linux community adopt this change so that we can then incorporate the new features within MVFS.

I'm trying to develop a stand-alone client app that uses web services in a Glassfish container (Metro). About all I have to work from is a wsdl for the wervices I'm trying to use. The wsdl is rife with all kinds of 'wsp:Policy' tags. Looks like IssuedToken, Trust13, ecryption are all utilized.
So I generated some code from netbeans and JAX-WS. Everything went well, but when trying to run the client I get:
'WST0029:STS location could not be obtained from either IssuedToken or from client configuration for accessing the service http://localhost:8080/ ....'
That's when it occured to me that I know nothing about WSS. It doesn't look like any code was generated to deal with security. So, I'll have to go from scratch.
So where to start? Books? Tutorials?

Metro applies the policy in runtime from either the WSDL or the wsit-client.xml config file. That's why no code is generated related to policies. According to this post it is not possible at the moment to do programatically.
This tutorial explains pretty well some of the things you can do with WSS, and though everything do probably not apply in this case it's still a good read.
The simplest way I've found of generating a client with WSS support is by using the wsimport script from Metro:

./wsimport.sh -s src -d target -extension -Xendorsed -verbose YourService.wsdl
Then install Metro into your application server (copy the libs to the correct places or run the ant script):

Then put your local WSDL file in your classpath (e.g. your resource folder), so Metro can get it at runtime to apply the policies from your generated YourService class:

I created a simple Windows service in dot net which runs a file. When I run the service locally I see the file running in the task manager just fine. However, when I run the service on the server it won't run the file. I've checked the path to the file which is fine. Below is the code used to launch the process which runs the file. Any ideas?

My first instinct is to check permissions.
Is the file extension registered on the server? It could be that the server is failing to find an action associated with .avc. You might want to move this to ServerFault since it is most likely a configuration or Windows OS version difference.
You may want to put a try catch block in that method and write out any exception to the event log, this should piont you in the write direction.
But as D.Shawley said it sounds like a config issue.
Ok, once again the problem was that the file wasn't associated to the program on the server. So instead of trying to open the file I needed to open the program to run the file, then pass the file as an argument to the program. Below is the syntax.
