Can someone please help my with my ActionScript 3.0 Class - actionscript

I've been having quite a bit of difficulty trying to get my class working and no matter how much I change it I keep getting errors. The current error I'm getting is 'An ActionScript file can not have more than one externally visible definition: PlayerPic, arrowMove'
Code:
package {
import flash.display.MovieClip;
import flash.events.Event;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
public class PlayerPic extends MovieClip {
public function PlayerPic()}
{
stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, arrowMove)
// constructor code
trace ("PlayerPic Constructer")}
function arrowMove(event:KeyboardEvent):void{
if (event.keyCode == Keyboard.LEFT)
{
pp.x -= 5;
if (pp.x < 0)
{
pp.x = 0;
}
}
if (event.keyCode == Keyboard.RIGHT)
{
pp.x += 5;
if (pp.x > 250)
{
pp.x = 250;
}
}
if (event.keyCode == Keyboard.UP)
{
pp.y -= 5;
if (pp.y < 0)
{
pp.y = 0;
}
}
if (event.keyCode == Keyboard.DOWN)
{
pp.y += 5;
if (pp.y > 550)
{
pp.y = 550;
}
}
}
}

Try changing this:
public function PlayerPic()}
To this:
public function PlayerPic()

How to return two value from a function in dart?

here is my code
import 'dart:io';
import 'dart:math';
void main() {
bool flag = false;
for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++) {
gameCode();
if (userNumber == computerNumber) {
flag = true;
break;
}
}
}
int randomNumber(number) {
Random randNumber = Random();
int random = randNumber.nextInt(number);
return random;
}
gameCode() {
int computerNumber = randomNumber(9);
print("start guessing the number : ");
int userNumber = int.parse(stdin.readLineSync()!);
if (userNumber == computerNumber) {
print("You got it");
}
}
in this code you can see gameCode function. in that function there is two value that i need to use in main function.so how do i return those two keyword from that function ?
//userNumber // computerNumber
this is the variable that i want to return from that code
Dart not support return multiple values in function, you can return it with array, map, or you can use third lib tuple
Dart does not support returning multiple values in the current latest version. I would in your case recommend creating a class for the specific purpose of define the result from gameCode(). So something like this:
class GameCodeResult {
int userNumber;
int computerNumber;
GameCodeResult({
required this.userNumber,
required this.computerNumber,
});
}
Which we can then use like this in your program:
import 'dart:io';
import 'dart:math';
void main() {
bool flag = false;
for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++) {
GameCodeResult result = gameCode();
if (result.userNumber == result.computerNumber) {
flag = true;
break;
}
}
}
final _random = Random();
int randomNumber(int maxNumber) => _random.nextInt(maxNumber);
GameCodeResult gameCode() {
int computerNumber = randomNumber(9);
print("start guessing the number : ");
int userNumber = int.parse(stdin.readLineSync()!);
if (userNumber == computerNumber) {
print("You got it");
}
return GameCodeResult(userNumber: userNumber, computerNumber: computerNumber);
}
Note, I also fixed your randomNumber() method since it is not recommended to generate a new Random() object for each new random number you want. We should instead reuse an instance of Random in our program.
Please refer to below code
import 'dart:io';
import 'dart:math';
void main() {
bool flag = false;
for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++) {
Map<String, dynamic> res = gameCode();
print(res);
if (res['user_number'] == res['computer_number']) {
flag = true;
break;
}
}
}
int randomNumber(number) {
Random randNumber = Random();
int random = randNumber.nextInt(number);
return random;
}
Map<String, dynamic> gameCode() {
int computerNumber = randomNumber(9);
print("start guessing the number : ");
int userNumber =
int.parse(stdin.readLineSync()!);
if (userNumber == computerNumber) {
print("You got it");
}
return {
"computer_number": computerNumber,
"user_number": userNumber,
};
}

keeping track of a series of simple multiple choice web form answers

This is the code I'm trying to use, which seems logical. But doesn't seem to be working.
MyAsFileName.prototype.getTotalScore = function() {
var totalScore = 0;
for (var i = 0; i < allQuestions.length; i++) {
totalScore += allQuestions[i].getCalculatedScore();
if (currentModule.allQuestions[i].parent.questionCorrect == true) {
knowledgePoints++;
} else {
knowledgePoints--;
}
}
debugLog("Total score: " + totalScore);
debugLog(knowledgePoints);
return totalScore;
}
I have allQuestions defined as below:
var allQuestions = Array();
I have knowledgePoints defined as:
this.knowledgePoints = 10;
I have questionCorrect defined as:
this.questionCorrect = false;
Second fresh attempt made with new class as answer below suggested (commented out for now until I figure out how to get working):
// package
// {
/*public class Quiz {
//public
var knowledgePoints: int = 10;
//public
var allQuestions: Array = new Array;
//public
var questionCorrect: Boolean = false;
//public
function getTotalScore(): int {
var totalScore: int = 0;
for (var i = 0; i < allQuestions.length; i++) {
totalScore += allQuestions[i].getCalculatedScore();
if (currentModule.allQuestions[i].parent.questionCorrect) {
knowledgePoints++;
} else {
knowledgePoints--;
}
}
debugLog("Total score: " + totalScore);
debugLog(knowledgePoints);
return totalScore;
}
}*/
//}
This code above outputs two errors in flash console:
Error 1. Attribute used outside of class.
Error 2. 'Int' could not be loaded.
It's a weird (and actually non-AS3 way) way to do this. Instead of creating a unnamed closure which refers weird variables from who-knows where, you should make it a normal AS3 class, something like that (in a file named Quiz.as):
package
{
public class Quiz
{
public var knowledgePoints:int = 10;
public var allQuestions:Array = new Array;
public var questionCorrect:Boolean = false;
public function getTotalScore():int
{
var totalScore:int = 0;
// Your code does not explain how you will that Array.
// It is initially an empty Array of length 0.
for (var i = 0; i < allQuestions.length; i++)
{
totalScore += allQuestions[i].getCalculatedScore();
if (currentModule.allQuestions[i].parent.questionCorrect)
{
knowledgePoints++;
}
else
{
knowledgePoints--;
}
}
// Not sure what it is.
debugLog("Total score: " + totalScore);
debugLog(knowledgePoints);
return totalScore;
}
}
}

is there a way to use dependencies injection using typescript

i'm relative new to this, so i want to implement dependency injection using typescript (is the first time I use this pattern), I'm more that using language programming like java or c# for OOP, so there is more easy to apply this pattern,
I found an example on internet and I can use it without problems on eclipse and visual studio, but when i use it on typescript the IDE raise an error like this:
Supplied parameters do not match any signature of call target
and is just at the end of implement it when this error appears
my base class:
class Motor {
Acelerar(): void {
}
GetRevoluciones(): number {
let currentRPM: number = 0;
return currentRPM;
}
}
export {Motor};
my class that uses motor
import { Motor } from "./1";
class Vehiculo {
private m: Motor;
public Vehiculo(motorVehiculo: Motor) {
this.m = motorVehiculo;
}
public GetRevolucionesMotor(): number {
if (this.m != null) {
return this.m.GetRevoluciones();
}
else {
return -1;
}
}
}
export { Vehiculo };
my interface and the type of motor
interface IMotor {
Acelerar(): void;
GetRevoluciones(): number;
}
class MotorGasoline implements IMotor {
private DoAdmission() { }
private DoCompression() { }
private DoExplosion() { }
private DoEscape() { }
Acelerar() {
this.DoAdmission();
this.DoCompression();
this.DoExplosion();
this.DoEscape();
}
GetRevoluciones() {
let currentRPM: number = 0;
return currentRPM;
}
}
class MotorDiesel implements IMotor {
Acelerar() {
this.DoAdmission();
this.DoCompression();
this.DoCombustion();
this.DoEscape();
}
GetRevoluciones() {
let currentRPM: number = 0;
return currentRPM;
}
DoAdmission() { }
DoCompression() { }
DoCombustion() { }
DoEscape() { }
}
and here is where the error appears:
import { Vehiculo } from "./2";
enum TypeMotor {
MOTOR_GASOLINE = 0,
MOTOR_DIESEL = 1
}
class VehiculoFactory {
public static VehiculoCreate(tipo: TypeMotor) {
let v: Vehiculo = null;
switch (tipo) {
case TypeMotor.MOTOR_DIESEL:
v = new Vehiculo(new MotorDiesel()); break;
case TypeMotor.MOTOR_GASOLINE:
v = new Vehiculo(new MotorGasoline()); break;
default: break;
}
return v;
}
}
I don't wanna use any library or module like SIMPLE-DIJS or D4js or any other for the moment, I just wanna know how to implement without them
You have this error because you don't specify a constructor on the Vehiculo type.
To declare a constructor you should use use the constructor keyword and not the name of the class.
class Vehiculo {
private m: Motor;
constructor(motorVehiculo: Motor) {
this.m = motorVehiculo;
}
public GetRevolucionesMotor(): number {
if (this.m != null) {
return this.m.GetRevoluciones();
}
else {
return -1;
}
}
}

1067: Implicit Coercion of a value

So I'm currently trying to run my collision test on my two sprites, and I'm getting the following error:
C:\\Code\\Game\Game.as, Line 54, Column 34 1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type mvc:PlayerModel to an unrelated type assets.Scripts:SpriteAnimation.
Which is pointing to the following line of code:
handleSpriteToSpriteCollision(_player, _boss);
The function is as follows:
private function handleSpriteToSpriteCollision(sprite1:SpriteAnimation, sprite2:SpriteAnimation):void
{
var toSprite2 : VectorModel = new
VectorModel(0,0,0,0, sprite2.x - sprite1.x, sprite2.y - sprite1.y);
var bitmapData1:BitmapData = new BitmapData(sprite1.width, sprite1.height);
while(testBitmapCollision(sprite1.spriteFrameBitmapData, sprite1.topLeftX, sprite1.topLeftY, sprite2.spriteFrameBitmapData, sprite2.topLeftX, sprite2.topLeftY))
{
sprite2.x -= toSprite2.dx;
sprite2.y -= toSprite2.dy;
}
}
Both sprites display just fine, but as soon as I make the function call it all comes crumbling down. At this point I just need some fresh eyes to take a look at the code to see what's going wrong.
Edit: Here is the PlayerModel.as
package mvc
{
import flash.events.Event;
import flash.events.EventDispatcher;
import assets.Scripts.SpriteAnimation;
public class PlayerModel extends EventDispatcher
{
private var _previousX:Number = 0;
private var _previousY:Number = 0;
private var _xPos:Number = 0;
private var _yPos:Number = 0;
public var vx:Number = 0;
public var vy:Number = 0;
private var _height:uint = 30;
private var _width:uint;
private var _color:uint;
public function PlayerModel():void
{
}
public function update():void
{
xPos += vx;
yPos += vy;
}
public function get height():uint
{
return _height;
}
public function get color():uint
{
return _color;
}
public function get xPos():Number
{
return _xPos;
}
public function set xPos(value:Number):void
{
_xPos = value;
dispatchEvent(new Event(Event.CHANGE));
}
public function get yPos():Number
{
return _yPos;
}
public function set yPos(value:Number):void
{
_yPos = value;
dispatchEvent(new Event(Event.CHANGE));
}
public function set setX(value:Number):void
{
_previousX = value - vx;
xPos = value;
}
public function set setY(value:Number):void
{
_previousY = value - vy;
yPos = value;
}
}
}
The first thing i would check is the class of your boss and player objects inherit your SpriteAnimation class:
class PlayerModel extends SpriteAnimation
{ ...
Seems as though your handleSpriteToSpriteCollision function is looking for two SpriteAnimations and at least the PlayerModel being passed isn't one
Sprite inherits EventDispatcher so as long as your SpriteAnimation inherits Sprite as well, you shouldn't lose any functionality

Now, I followed this tutorial on making dynamic sounds in Xna, which worked with my custom MonoGame class. However, when I run the project (Xamarin Studio 4, Mac OS X 10.8, with MonoGame 3.0.1), it throws this exception:
Buffer already full
Pointing at the code in my custom class:
public void SubmitBuffer(byte[] buffer, int offset, int count)
{
if (bufferIdsToFill != null) {
AL.BufferData (bufferIdsToFill [currentBufferToFill], format, buffer, count, sampleRate);
AL.SourceQueueBuffer (sourceId, bufferIdsToFill [currentBufferToFill]);
currentBufferToFill++;
if (currentBufferToFill >= bufferIdsToFill.Length)
bufferIdsToFill = null;
else
OnBufferNeeded (EventArgs.Empty);
} else {
throw new Exception ("Buffer already full."); //RIGHT HERE IS THE EXCEPTION
}
}
I commented out the exception, and ran it again. It played the sound, with pops in it, but it still played it. How can I clear the buffer, so it is not full? I followed this tutorial EXACTLY, so all the code I added to my project is in there.
Oh! Figured it out myself; I changed the pending buffer count from 3 to 2. My final submit buffer code was:
while(_instance.PendingBufferCount < 2)
SubmitBuffer();
Where the 2 is, used to be a 3. Now it no longer throws the exception.
