Error ChainResolver - grails

I upgraded my Grails project from 2.1.1 to 2.2.2 and now I get this when I do run-app.
| Error Error executing script RunApp: org/apache/ivy/plugins/resolver/ChainResolver (Use --stacktrace to see the full trace)
when I call run-app --stacktrace, it actually runs it but then stops running with the following error
INFO: No global web.xml found
May 31, 2013 11:55:41 PM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log
INFO: Initializing Spring root WebApplicationContext
Terminating process: Timeout: no new output for 60000 milliseconds
Any clue?

This was becuase eclipse had saved old debug configuration for the previous grails version on this project. Go to Run>Debug Configuration>Grails Project and remove all the old configs!!!

$ lazybones list
Can't connect to pledbrook/lazybones-templates: Unable to make member of class sun.net.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnectionImpl accessible: module java.base does not export sun.net.www.protocol.https to unnamed module #75f65e45
To me that looks like an SSL handshake error when grails is doing some of its initialisation work for create app. It might be attempting to pull down some required jar files etc.
What does sdk list grails show?
What does which grails and which javareturn?
I've not used jdk 9 heaps so might be worthwhile investigating changing that also. I think you'll find switching to jdk8 will have better results. Each jdk comes with a list of standard root certificate authorities it trusts.
Maybe with the recent security issues like the one surrounding the Symantec CAs jdk9 might have removed these but the server grails is connecting to is still using one perhaps.
Edit: I think you may also have been using an internal development build version of Java 9 jdk. as you reported to using build 9-internal+0-2016-04-14-195246.buildd
Try using jdk 8 or installing a newer version of Java 9.

Add this jars in your WEB-INF/lib folder
commons-lang3-3.1.jar
commons-lang-2.4.jar
slf4j-api-x.x.x.jar
slf4j-log4j12-x.x.x.jar
log4j-x.x.x.jar
Most importantly this jar is not in your project, So first download it and add it to your build path.
tiles-core.2.x.x.jar
tiles-template-2.x.x.jar
tiles-portlet-2.x.x.jar
You can choose version by yourself as per your project need.e.g. commons-lang-x.x,jar. Also reply if you get error.
And if you are new user to stack overflow then I will suggest you to learn how to accept answer Please see click HERE
EDIT :
Also I would like to tell you that struts2-tiles-plugin-2.2.1.jar depends on tiles 2.0.6 not tiles 2.2.1. Well, it does not matter. But it was just for your information. You should use proper version of tiles which should be compatible with your struts. At least try once using compatible versions.
What your error says is a resource could not be used because it is not in a portlet environment.
I will suggest you to Learn portlet integration of tiles
You are missing tiles-portlet-2.x.x.jar or portlet-ext.xml file
Edit 2:
Check rt.jar in your JRE.
If you don't have it on your classpath you will not have access to any of those classes you need to use like java.lang.String or java.io.File.

Elastic Beanstalk /ondeck not updating /current and still showing 404?

I currently have a Rails 4.0.3 repo with Ruby 2.1.1. I am trying to deploy this on my EB environment. Everything seems to be working fine, no errors are thrown when I run:
eb start
git aws.push
But If I SSH into my server, I see that my /var/app/ondeck has not updated with my git repository even if I run git aws.push --environment myenv.
I see the current git revision hash on my dashboard when I aws.push, but the repo code never gets to the server...
The other issue is that fact that my /var/app/current is still empty. Any ideas?
After running a git aws.push, the only thing that gets logged is:
2014-04-02 05:45:02,567 [INFO] (5874 MainThread) [clearStaleLogPublishingRecords.py-38] [root clearStaleLogPublishingRecords main] Clearing stale log publish records publish log task with batch id ef7dd76a-ba29-11e3-bf20-12313913dae2

After running eb update nothing gets put to the logs.
These also help describe the issue:
https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?messageID=336101
https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?messageID=357003
However, I have the latest command line eb, and have tried detaching the HEAD from the git repo and then checking out the master and pushing again, still no luck :(
Also tried "upload and deploy" a zip version from the control panel, nothing got updated.

I switched to a Ruby 2.0 running Rails 4.0.3 on the oregon datacenter (west-2), and it seems to be pushing fine. I do think it had something to do with a hook failing. For instance, if you have additional hooks or commands that require GIT, and git isn't installed on the server, it will fail silently or scream... That seems to have been what was going on here.

"call 'refresh'" error resulting from Grails WAR hot-deploy

When my Grails WAR is hot-deployed to Tomcat and I refresh the page, I get this error:
1 Feb, 2010 7:00:51 PM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationDispatcher invoke
SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet view-servlet threw exception
java.lang.IllegalStateException: BeanFactory not initialized or already closed - call 'refresh' before accessing beans via the ApplicationContext
at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractRefreshableApplicationContext.getBeanFactory(AbstractRefreshableApplicationContext.java:15
This error does not persist when Tomcat is restarted.
ApplicationContext ctx = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext();
Spring try to lookup the applicationContext.xml from the CLASSPATH, if the xml file can't be found, "BeanFactory not initialized or already closed" error will be thrown out. That is why you restart the tomcat it works just fine. However I don't know the real cause why the applicationContext.xml is not in the classpath during hot-deploy.
If you are running only one Grails application in your tomcat, you can try to put the applicationContext.xml in Tomcat classpath and try hot-deploy again.
