We have TFS 2010 and TFS 2012 set up. We would like to have notion timesheets display work items from both TFS 2010 and TFS 2012.
We are not scheduled to migrate from 2010 to 2012 for a while so I was wondering if we could just change the stored procedure to pull the data from both TFS 2010 and TFS 2012 databases.
Any ideas?
From the above link it seems that Notion Timesheets integrate with the SSAS cubes in TFS via the TFS Reporting Warehouse Service. Perhaps you can just use a different url?

At work, I've been put into the role of TFS administrator, as the real TFS admin is leaving our organization in two weeks. We're currently using TFS 2015. I'm trying to upgrade us to TFS 2018, hopefully before the current admin leaves.
To that end, I've been reading various resources on TFS migration from TFS 2015 to TFS 2018. One resource I came across is this one Migration from TFS 2015 to 2018. This document spoke about integration between TFS 2018 and SharePoint. I had thought that integration died, after TFS 2015. Specifically, up to TFS 2015, TFS had what they called "TFS Project rooms". Sort of like a simple bulletin board type system. But Microsoft decided to break that connection, so I was lead to believe, after TFS 2015.
So, I'm wondering, since the linked to PDF speaks of integration between TFS 2018 and SharePoint, what is that about? Especially if TFS team rooms have gone away?
According to this doc about TFS 2018 and SharePoint integration:
TFS 2018 and later versions no longer support integration with SharePoint.
The SharePoint integration supports the TFS 2017 and earlier versions. In TFS 2017 and earlier versions, in addition to the team room function, this integration also has other functions.
For more detailed information about sharepoint integration , you could refer this Blog.
Since you are upgrading the TFS 2015 to TFS 2018, if you have configured the SharePoint integration in TFS 2015, you need to disable the SharePoint integration after upgrade.
In addition, in TFS 2018, we start to use Microsoft teams or slack for monitoring and communication.
Hope this helps.

what is the best way of migrating PBI and associated items from TFS 2012 instance into TFS 2017 instance?
Thanks
You could try OpsHub Visual Studio Online Migration Utility, the free version supports migrate work items with attachments, comments and link traceability:
I'm using TFS 12.0.30723.0 and I'm trying to build a query on which I can see the history of all the changes on different tasks for the current sprint for a person. I don't know why the #CurrentIteration is not accepted, so probably I'll change the sprint param in the query when needed. I want to see how many hours have been completed and on which day of the sprint for a person assigned tasks. Basically a history on how many hours and when have been completed.
What I've tried until now, looks like:
Is this possible to accomplish on TFS?
In this MSDN document, the #CurrentIteration is only could be used in the following clients:
Web portal that connects to VSTS
Web portal that connects to an on-premises TFS 2015.
Visual Studio 2015 connected to TFS 2015 or
VSTS.
You're using TFS 12.0.30723.0, this is TFS 2013. #CurrentIteration doesn't work for TFS 2013 web port. You could upgrade your TFS to TFS 2015 or higher versions.
About your request, you could add the AuthorizedDate, RemainingWork, CompleteWork field column in the query result. Then you could export your query using Excel to Sum up. Because TFS query doesn't have the calculating feature. The AuthorizedDate shows the time when the workitem is assigned to someone.
We need to migrate projects in TFS from one server to another. On source server we have TFS 2010 with several VS.NET projects in the DefaultCollection. On the destination server, we have TFS 2013 with an empty DefaultCollection but 2 other collections in use by other developers. Each instance of TFS has its own SQL Server.
The problem we face is how to take the DefaultCollection from the TFS 2010 server and place it on the TFS 2013 Server?
I'm aware of several articles about migration but have not found one that exactly fits our situation. I appreciate any ideas anyone may have.
This is a very straightforward scenario.
Something along these lines should work:
Detach DefaultCollection from TFS 2010 using the admin console.
Take a backup of your TFS 2010 DefaultCollection database
Migrate the database to your TFS 2013 database server
Attach the TFS 2010 DefaultCollection database in TFS 2013 via the admin console. As part of the attaching process, you should be able to rename it.
The team project collection database will be upgraded to TFS 2013 and made available to users. At that point, you can go back and clean up unneeded project collections and rename things if you'd like.
Always take backups before you attempt any sort of migration or upgrade. I always recommend performing the upgrade against a test environment first.
Good day!
I try to migrate test cases from TFS 2010 to 2013 version.
So, i can get WorkItem from TFS 2010, but dont know how to set it to 2013?
Please, tell me how to write existing WI (TestCases) into TFS 2013.
Thanks.
You can create Test Cases from MTM or TFS Web Access (or via the TFS API).
If you need to do a bulk migration you can use tcmimport tool (google it), to migrate data via Excel, or one of the several TFS Migration Tools (that often cost money).
