net_rim_crypto error in blackberry - blackberry

I'm developing a blackberry application to encode and decode some important information. For this I'm using the net.rim.device.api.crypto.* package in my application. I'm developing in blackberry OS 7.1 simulator but my blackberry device has OS 5.0 . When I try to download the app in my device, it gives me the following error:
"This application requires the following module, which is not installed: net_rim_crypto"
Also I'm not able to use the update site and install previous blackberry Os versions as the installation fails whenever I try to install it.
So, my question is mainly: How can I make my apps backward compatible in this case? Also, I'm not able to install and run my app (mentioned above) on the device. How can I accomplish this? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Please note that BlackBerry apps are not backward compatible, that is to say an app built on OS 7.0 will not work with OS 6.0 or OS 5.0. However, an same app built on OS 5.0 will work on handsets with OS 5.0+. Considering you are developing your app in OS 7.1 simulator indicates you are using BlackBerry JRE 7 and net_rim_crypto that you implemented seem to be missing in OS 5. In order to develop apps for OS 5, please work with JRE 5.

Cordova and Xcode compatibility on old Apple Hardware

I'm currently developing a mobile app using Cordova on Windows and Android, and I'd like to test it on Apple devices. I purchased a refurbished 2011 MacBook and an iPhone 6s cheaply in order to do this, but I'm running into frustrating compatibility issues regarding XCode. The MacBook can support OS X up to El Capitan, which can support XCode 9.1, but the iPhone, which has automatically upgraded to iOS 13.3, needs a newer version of XCode to compile to it, it seems. I can't find a way to downgrade the phone to an older version of iOS (apparently the current version cannot be jailbreak-ed) and as a result I can't write apps to the phone.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm aware of device-emulation services like Browser Stack, but I'd like to find a solution that uses the technology I've already bought before I pay for a new service.

Can I write an iOS app with OSX 10.5?

I'm trying to write an app for my own use on my iPhone (iOS 6.0). Unfortunately I'm also traveling with my OSX 10.5 laptop with Xcode 3.1.4 loaded. Is there any way to run an app built with this xcode on my iPhone? I don't need any feature from a recent iOS and there are plenty of old apps that run just fine and were probably developed with old Xcode versions, but I always get an amber button indicating the iPhone iOS isn't supported when I hit build and run.
The oldest version of xcode that can develop for iOS 6 is xcode 4.5, and for running xcode 4.5 you need to have MAC OS 10.7.4 or later version
Sorry man, You can't.
You need Xcode4 and Lion for iOS6 development.
EDIT:
Now(2014 AD) Apple doesn't allow any app developed using below Xcode 5, so you need to have Xcode 5.
No. To develop for a modern iPhone, you need an Intel mac, and I doubt that a laptop with 10.5 is an Intel Mac (or that 10.5 even supports x86). Also, Xcode versions are correlated to API versions, if you haven't noticed, so even if possible, you'd probably only be able to use the 3.0 APIs, which are now not even usable because of the multitasking introduced in 4.0.
Short answer: No.

Regarding installation of iOS application in a real device

I've been fixing my application to run in real iOS device. I am using Xcode organizer. Now when i use it, it gives me this error:
xcode cannot find the software image to install this version
My iPhone version is: 6.0.1
My Xcode version is: 3.2.3
Any ideas how to solve this? I've already tried re-plugging the phone, I've also check some troubleshooting that other devs provided but it won't work.
Xcode 3.2.3 was released approximately when iOS 4 was out, so it won't support iOS 6.
Actual version is (at least) 4.5.1
Download it from the Mac App Store or here.

iOS 5.1 simulator Twitter sign in issue

I'm started to develop some application whit Twitter integration, but when trying sign in to Twitter ... this happen
http://i.stack.imgur.com/Agdn5.png
every time, I tried some different accounts.
I'm on Macbook 2011 , OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion), Xcode 4.4 (4F250), iOS Simulator 5.1 (272.21)
I'll be happy of any ideas, because after researching ,didn't find anything :(
It's Mountain Lion and/or Xcode 4.4 issue/bug!
Read here https://devforums.apple.com/message/705937#705937
And here https://dev.twitter.com/discussions/4850
This is a known bug occurring in Mac OS X v10.8 (Mountain Lion).
It's probably because Mountain Lion has a native Social.framework and the developer tools, I assume are using these, and therefore the Twitter.framework isn't being used, so when you try to login to twitter with the simulator on iOS 5.x it can't use Social.framework and the system isn't using Twitter.framework correctly as a fallback.
Anyhow, here is the official word on it:
When using the iOS 6.1 SDK on OS X v10.8 (Mountain Lion), if you use
the iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.1 “Legacy SDK” in iOS Simulator, you will not be
able to sign in to Twitter via the Settings pane, and
Twitter.framework will not work correctly. If you need to test Twitter
features, you will need to choose either the iOS 6.1 or iOS 6.0
Simulator run destination, or test with iOS 5.x on a device. These
problems do not occur when running Simulator on OS X v10.7 (Lion).

Most likely a problem with a server somewhere, but the only other explanation is something wrong with the simulator. The best advice I think I can give you is to try reset content and settings in the simulator, reboot your Mac and if that doesn't help you may need to reinstall Xcode.

Iphone SDK for Tiger MAC

I am running Mac Tiger on my VMware, trying to install iphone SDK and Xcode, and then I found out I have to have leopard in order to be able to develop for Iphone. I was wondering is there any Iphone SDK and Xcode for MAc Tiger 10.4 ??? many thanks
Apple stopped supporting Mac OS 10.4 quite a long time ago. In fact, new iPhone 3.2 SDK is available only for Mac OS 10.6. So you'd either have to get a newer version of the system, or search for older SDK over the Internet (some third party sites can still host it).
The 10.5.x version is still available on Apple's developer connection, however it's SDK 3.1.3 only.
Hope this was helpful, Paul
