Upload code in codeplex - codeplex

I have a project with sourcecode. It is a visual studio 2010 solution. Now I want to upload the code as a project in codeplex. In codeplex I can create a new project, but can not upload the code. I can not find the option to upload the existing code from my hard drive.
Please send me if you have any solution.

You cannot upload the Source Code to codeplex, you use Git to push your code to their server.
They have a tutorial on their help site. You can use that to get to know how to upload the source code to their server.
https://codeplex.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Using%20Git%20with%20CodePlex&referringTitle=Source%20Control
Go there and learn to upload code to their server for public usage.

OPTICON API - unable to load example visual studio project

Im trying to make use of the Opticon API to write an app that will read the barcode data from the device. Opticon have a website for the API download.
http://wiki.opticonusa.com/techsupport/en/OPN-2001#Downloads
but when i open the example project in visual studio i get a reference missing,
the project folder has "csp2.dll" files in it. but i so far have not worked out how to add that reference to the project. I have tried to "Add Reference" and browse to the .dll file but this just causes Visual Studio to crash, is there something more I'm missing?
The Opticon OPN SDK does talk about "C-Library Kit", but from what i can read this seems to be for C++, rather than C#.
The documentation for the SDK seems to be rather old and for much older versions of Visual Studio.

Opening a solution from TFS

I'm working on a project in Visual studios 2013. I was trying to figure out how to do something and was recommended to look at another project on TFS that does something similar. When I got latest version of this other project, I found out it was made in VS2010. It migrated it to VS2013, and locked the file to me. I undid the changes because I don't want to modify this other program. I was unable to find a way to open that file without it trying to lock the file to me with migrating to VS2013.
As an attempted solution, I copied the file elsewhere on my computer and tried opening it without connecting to TFS. I assumed this would allow it to migrate to 2013 without updating the database. It still had issues and gave me this error: Solution file '%s' cannot be migrated because the solution cannot be checked out from source code control. To migrate the solution, make sure the solution file can be checked out and re-open it.
How can I open this solution without updating the TFS solution and locking the file to myself?
I just ran into this same problem. I checked the permissions on the solution files I was trying to open and saw that it was set to 'read-only'. I deselected read-only and the solution opened.
If everyone else is using VS2010 with Service Pack 1, then upgrading the solution isn't a problem. People will still be able to open it in VS2010 SP1, even if you check it in. See the Visual Studio 2013 Compatibility notes on MSDN for specific things to watch for.
Alternatively, after checking the files out but before opening the .sln file, create a copy of it in the same folder calling it MyProject2013.sln (for example). Add this new solution to source control using Source Control Explorer and then open it, letting Visual Studio upgrade the .sln file as it would normally. The 2010 .sln file will be left untouched and you should be OK to do what you like with the 2013 solution.

how I can edit the asp.net mvc project direct from ftp using visual studio 12?

I have a mvc3 project on ftp server. The project is live runing. I want to edit the views without downloading them. I want to edit the file direct on FTP.
Have any clue how i can edit the file direct on FTP using Visual Studio.
I got a good sollution called Komodo Edit. What I want is simple edit my aspx razor file so Going with Komodo Edit is a good idea.
I want to edit the views without downloading them. I want to edit the file direct on FTP.
That does not exist. You must download a file before you can edit it, and re-upload it when done. There are IDE's and FTP programs that abstract this behavior by using a kind of temp folder and a FileSystemWatcher, but to my knowledge this isn't built in to Visual Studio.
And that is a good thing, because you do not want to edit live files through the IDE. How will you revert an accidental file deletion or other screwup? Use versioning, work locally, test locally, then publish to the server.

How to build portableapps project

I want to build this project on windows from source code.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/
I have downloaded the source code. But I have no idea how to build it.
EDIT---------
Actually I downloaded the source codes. But, I don't know using which software I have to open/build the source.
For example, for .NET projects, I would use Visual Studio. I need to know which IDE is required for this project
If you mean the launcher, then the source can be found here. I was able to build 2.0 beta 5 from source. I got an error running it, but didn't investigate further.
I have to say, the source code for this project is pretty well hidden. A comment in this blog post suggests that the latest version requires Delphi XE. If you are using an earlier version, this could be the problem. Otherwise, you'll need to be more specific about what's going wrong.

Download ASP.NET MVC reference and integrate it with local MSDN Library

Is there a way to download ASP.NET MVC reference and make it available through the local MSDN library?
I am tired of going to Microsoft's site everytime I need a simple class or method documentation reference.
Thanks!
There isn't an official download yet - but you can get an unofficial download using the PackageThis, which connects to the MSDN Content Service, pulls the data down and builds local CHM or HXS files for you.
Not answering your question, but did you know that the online MSDN library is now available in "loband" format?
There is a new version of this software PackageThis! available at Visual Studio Gallery, which supports Mshc file format (Visual Studio 2010/2012 help packages).
