How to setup an account in IBM mainframes programatically - cobol

I need to create a user account in IBM mainframes(Z-os,os390, i-series) through a program.
Is there any libraries which are built-in in Mainframe OS to be used by the programming languages such as cobol.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure that COBOL is the correct language for what I think you are trying to accomplish. To create user accounts programmatically, you would need to create an account in TSO, create and assign a default PDS (or have a startup routine that does that), assign security and rights via RACF or TopSecret, and there maybe a number of other tables and files that would require updating with the new user info.
Further, most shops when creating a new TSO id also create the login credentials in CICS, DB2, QMF, etc. But, I digress. Anyway, with the various steps needed, your best bet would be something like REXX to try to automate as much as possible. You would likely have to research each of steps to see if in fact they are scriptable using REXX.

There is no off-the-shelf answer to the this question, other than "design, develop, and deploy a server system that offers data sharing with users that are set up as a user's 'friends'."
It sounds to me like you have an original app idea that you will need to research and implement. If you are new to software development a multi-user client/server app is way, way, WAY beyond your abilities.
Come to think of it, the answer is really "hire a developer to help you come up with a functional design, technical spec, and implementation for your product idea."

Anonymous contact form iOS app

I currently work at a school and have an idea to create an app that allows students to contact a grown up (for example, the principle) anonymously through an app. The app would quite simply consist of a contact form. I am trying to find out the best, and easiest way to achieve this without setting up servers with a separate API. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to achieve it? Is there any way to set up an e-mail form with a pre set recipient and a built in sender-account? Please guide me in the right direction.
You would need to implement an SMTP client. You can use open source code like skpsmtpmessage
It's likely that their example app could be your solution.
Your biggest problem will be the deployment. You definitely need to pay an $99/y developer account and add all the students device ID's to your account (with a maximum of 100 devices/y) or register all of them as beta tester (I don't know the limitations).
Probably this isn't doable so easily, as it seems you don't have iOS developing experience so far. Maybe you can find something on the app store that works with self hosted databases. But you definitely need to host some kind of webApp/API.
You may want to give Appygram a try to handle the back-end if you are able to set up the contact form itself. While it's a separate hosted API, at least you don't have to build/manage it.
Appygram is a free web service that would allow you to configure all the details such as which adults could be contacted, their point(s) of contact (i.e. email address), and it would process and send all the submissions for you. All your app needs to do is send a form post request.
A nice thing about having this information outside of the iOS app itself is that you can change the contact details on the fly without requiring an update to the iOS app itself. Whether you use Appygram (which, since I contribute to it, I am slightly biased toward!) or something similar, I would say that since this is for students, I would recommend a solution that would allow you to update your configuration without requiring app updates.
Finally, I'd second what Julian said. The challenge here could be with deployment. One possible alternative would be to make this a mobile-friendly web page accessible only via student login or on the school network (or both). Would probably be easier development-wise and wouldn't require installs nor the hurdles that Julian described with device registration, etc. And, Appygram would still work with this setup as well.

How to run a story multiple times with different parameters

I have developed a jBehave story to test some work flow implemented in our system.
Let’s say this story is called customer_registration.story
That story is a starting point of some other more complex work flows that our system supports.
Those more complex work flows are also covered by different stories.
Let’s say we have one of our more complex work flows covered by a customer_login.story
So the customer_login.story will look somehow like below:
Story: Customer Login
Narrative:
In order to access ABC application
As a registered customer
I want to login into the application
Scenario: Successfully login into the application
GivenStories: customer_registration.story
Given I am at the login page
When I type a valid password
Then I am able to see the application main menu
All works perfectly and I am happy with that.
3.The story at point 1 above (customer registration) is something I need to run on different sets of data.
Let’s say our system supports i18n and we need to check that customer registration story runs OK for all supported languages, say we want to test our customer registration works OK with both en-gb and zh-tw
So I need to implement a multi_language_customer_registration.story that will look something like that:
Story: Multi language customer registration
Narrative:
In order to access ABC application
As a potential customer
I want to register for using the application
Scenario: Successfully customer registration using different supported languages
GivenStories: customer_registration.story
Then some clean up step so the customer registration story can run again
Examples:

Any idea about how I could achieve this?
Note that something like below is not an option as I do need to run the clean up step between runs.
GivenStories: customer_registration.story#{0},customer_registration.story#{1}
Moving the clean up step inside the customer registration story is not an option too as then the login story will stop working.

P.S. As you could guess in reality the stories we created are more complex and it is not an easy task to refactor them, but I am happy to do this for a real gain.
First off, BDD is not the same as testing. I wouldn't use it for every single i18n scenario. Instead, isolate the bit which deals with i18n and unit test that, manually test for a couple and call it done. If you really need more thorough then use it with a couple of languages, but don't do it with all of them - just enough examples to give you some safety.
Now for the bit with the customers. First of all, is logging in and registration really that interesting? Are you likely to change them once you've got them working? Is there anything special about logging in or registration that's particular to your business? If not, try to keep that stuff out of the scenarios - it'll be more of a pain to maintain than it's worth, and if it's never going to change you can just test it once, manually.
Scenarios which show what the user is logging in for are usually more enticing and interesting to the business (you are having conversations with the business, right?).
Otherwise, here are the three ways in which you can set up a context (Given):
By hacking the data (so accessing the database directly)
Through the UI (or controller if you're automating from that level)
By using existing data.
You can also look to see if data exists, and if it doesn't, set it up. So for instance, if your customer is registered and you don't want him to be registered, you can delete his registration as part of setting up the context (running the Given step); or if you need him to be registered and he isn't, you can go through the UI to register him.
Lastly, JBehave has an #AfterScenario annotation which you can use to denote a clean-up step for that scenario. Steps are reusable - you can call the steps of the scenario from within another step in code, rather than using JBehave's mechanism (this is more maintainable anyway IMO) and this will allow you to avoid clearing registration when you log in.

What is IdentityPart in Orchard CMS good for?

I havent found any mention in Orchard documentation about IdentityPart despite it being used in some main modules like Comments. I took a look at some relevant sources, but it didn't help me to fully understand it's purpose.
So what's it for and when should I use it?

This is part of the import/export feature. In order to be able to move contents around servers reliably and in a repeatable way that takes into account updated and new items, we need a way to identify content items that's not just a simple id. Some contents have a path but not all types do (widgets, users, etc.). The export/import hooks for any part can participate in building the id of the item and in recognizing it on import. The routable part for example implements the use of path. But for those types that do not have routable, you can add the IdentityPart to fulfill that role. The id that gets exported in the end is a composite of all contributed ids.

What does "in-house application" mean? How to translate it?

I have problem with translating this sentence:
"Running in-house systems means that you can
leverage your existing security system for purposes of authentication, authorization, and so forth" - from Pro C# 2010 and the .NET 4 Platform
Google translate doesn't help me with this.
I don't want to translate it to my language, but I want explanation, the best with some examples.
Software written and used within the same company.
In-House systems means applications that have been written internally in a company.
I think it means that if you build your own system as opposed to purchasing something, you can integrate your own login process (use single sign-on).
For example, if you purchase XYZ and WidgetCo, you have to have a separate login for each application. If you build your own, you can reference AD or whatever your login process is.
As Clifford said, it can be software written and used within the same company, but it also means when you buy the license of an app produced by another company, and then use it on your own app servers. So you don't have a monthly subscription, you are buying the app ONCE, and start using it on your own, for as long as you need it.
