Could this problem also apply to Delphi applications running on Terminal Servers?
As the MSDN article "An Office 2007 or Office 2003 application that is running on an RD Session Host server may close unexpectedly in Windows Server 2008 R2" explains
This issue occurs because of the Tsappcmd.dll component. This
component makes changes to the Import Address Table (IAT) for
applications that are not Terminal Server aware in order to prevent
viruses or malware from maliciously hooking the application. Because
of this, the application may experience temporary memory corruption
because of the order in which the modules are loaded. Office 2007 and
Office 2003 do not contain the TSAWARE header flag. This flag notifies
the server that the application is Terminal Server aware.
Some Delphi 2009 applications in a user environment (Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1) frequently hang or crash. I am looking for possible reasons, as these hangs / crashes can not be reproduced.
The MSDN article seems to apply to Office products first, is this correct or - attention, here is the basic question - does Tsappcmd.dll also modify non-Office programs so the error can occur with Delphi apps? (Of course I would prefer to leave the Delphi applications untouched if the missing TSAWARE flag is not harmful).

Yes Tsappcmd.dll will affect any and all programs that do not have the TSAWARE flag in the PE header. This does NOT automatically mean however that all those apps are affected by this particular bug. But you can easily test this by setting the TSAWARE flag (see the link that TOndrej provided to my blog) or by setting the registry key that is mentioned in the KB article.
PS: the explanation that it's a protection against viruses seems like a bogus explanation, this mechanism was introduced for app compat reasons...

I need run a 16bits application on a windows 64bits without virtualization or XP mode.
Do you have a solution ?
My application have an user interface and she need to print and to access the disk.
It's a old monster, we don't have the source code (Delphi) and it's very specific (made on demand).
I think about a sort of encapsulation or a "translator" between the OS and the binary.
An idea ?
I need run a 16 bit application on a Windows 64 bit system without virtualization.
That is not possible. The only way to run this application on such a system is via a virtualized environment of one form or another.
You wonder about some form of translator or adapter, but that is of course exactly what virtualization is. A 64 bit system cannot run a 16 bit process natively, ergo you need a virtualized environment in order to run it.

When i compile a new project in Delphi 7 IDE , then i scan using http://www.virustotal.com my Delphi Project identifies it's ivected 8 Virus:
I reinstall my Windows OS and check my PC Hardisk using Dual Boot Linux Ubuntu but i can't find virus on my PC.
Please help me :'(
I checked on the name of one of the reported viruses in your screen shot and came up with this description from McAfee:
This software is not a virus or a Trojan. It is detected as a "potentially unwanted program"
(PUP). PUPs are any piece of software that a reasonably security- or privacy-minded computer
user may want to be informed of and, in some cases, remove. PUPs are often made by a
legitimate corporate entity for some beneficial purpose, but they alter the security state
of the computer on which they are installed, or the privacy posture of the user of the
system, such that most users will want to be aware of them.
It lists aliases for this from other virus detectors, and the list includes "PUA.Win32.Packer.BorlandDelphi" from clamav. I think that may be the answer. Are you compressing your exe? Regardless, this has to do with some characteristic of the Delphi-generated EXE file and not an actual virus or trojan.
Is your program using the Indy library? Some virus scanners had signatures including Indy code because there were Trojans that used it.
I see two possibilities:
This is a false positive. Your program is doing something that looks like virus behaviour. Only you can tell what your program does.
This is a re-infection of the executable you just compiled.
If you have anti-virus software on your computer and other executables are clean, it must be case 1.
What surprises me is why you would upload your program to Virustotal. What's the reason for that? Did something happen that you have not told us?

I have been at RAD Studio XE2 World Tour here in Poland in Cracov and I really love new features, so Im almost sure, Ill buy it. But now I downloaded trial version and I want to ask about two things:
Firstly: What can I do with it? I mean - can I build for example one free application and distribute it over Internet? It would be freeware application written within these 30 days. License is quite long and I cant find restrictions like that.
Secondly: If I install this trial anything bad can happen to my Delphi 2009 (Professional)? I have a lot of IDE experts, additional components, important projects etc etc - I dont want to lose anything. In short - is it better to install it on VM?
You are not allowed to distribute applications or components written with the trial edition of Delphi.
I've installed 'full' XE2 onto a VM which already had Delphi 7 and Delphi 2010 on, and haven't seen any adverse effects over the last couple of days. All 3 environments appear to get along fine, as has long been the Delphi tradition.
Once I get a chance I'll stick it on my 'main' development VM, which is currently Delphi 2007.
However, I don't know about the trial version aspect of it. I wouldn't expect it to behave any differently but if you're concerned about your production/work environment, I would strongly suggest that you isolate your trial explorations to a VM... - just to be safe. :-)

If you could suggest only one new (or enhanced) feature for the Internet Direct (Indy) version 11, which one would it be?
Update: I found the first information about an upcoming Indy 11 version in question Step by step upgrade of Indy 10 in Delphi 2009 (where Remy mentions plans for a new installer in a comment)
Some ideas from my side:
a RFC 4918 (WebDAV) server implementation. Example use case: combined with the Explorer-based integration of WebDAV in Windows, such a server could play the role of a user-friendly document exchange gateway between a workstation and a legacy application
a XMPP implementation. It could bring push based services to Delphi applications to integrate with existing enterprise software systems (instead of frequent polling)
support for DNS SRV record entries
a server and client side WebSocket implementation
example for a standalone SOAP server based on IdHTTPWebBrokerBridge (see How to build stand-alone SOAP web services using Delphi?)
Social client component interfaces (Facebook / twitter)

I need a quick and dirty http server to use for local application development, that supports php and mysql. Xampp will not work for me (64 bit Win 7), so Im looking for something similar.
I've had good experience with The Uniform Server -- it's portable*, and it includes Apache, PHP, MySQL, and Perl in the box. Their installation manual also says testing has been successful on 64-bit WinXP Pro.
* It's portable in the put it on your USB-stick and use it on any Windows computer sense. They also claim to not touch the Windows registry at all.
Try Wamp server
I don't know if it includes MySQL, but check out the Microsoft Web Platform Installer 2.0. It does include PHP and a lot of other stuff. All Free.
pmwikiserv is a wiki that includes a free standalone single executable PHP/http server for windows/Unix
Wamp Server
Zend Server CE
Checkout WebGUI (http://www.plainblack.com/) which comes with a quick install web server, mysql database, and content management system all in one. Works on Windows, Unix, Mac, BSD and Linux. Needs Perl. You can add on PHP and/or Python to make it do what you want. The system is entirely open source (you can pay for support). Under active development by a going commercial concern. Setup in minutes.
If you have a Windows XP Professional or a Windows Server installation, run it on IIS. I'm sure it's included on the higher end Vista distribution discs too. You can check by inserted your disc, going to Add or Remove Programs and on the left menu, select Add Windows Features...something like that anyway.
Abyss Web Server
http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/
The setup is trivial. Also, it only takes a couple of minutes to enable cgi (they are recognized by extension).
Also, many frameworks such as django and groovy/grails come with their own simple server.
