We have uploaded an application with paid version (1.0) earlier. Now we uploaded new paid version with some changes & bug-fixes and rolled-out new version (1.1) and uploaded to App-world.
Now since, its just an upgrade, user must be able to upgrade his app for free. (that's understood and common across all other mobile platforms)
But we have received queries from users with regards to new version. User (when trying to upgrade the same app) was asked to pay for app-upgrade. I am confused how can this happen.?
Have i missed something while uploading new version at Blackberry App-world ? please help. I need to resolve this issue. Appreciate any help :)
Sounds like you might have accidentally specified an Upgrade Price when you submitted the new version. That is separate from the Price of the initial release. This is stated in the documentation:
If you are adding a release that is not the initial release for a
product, in the Upgrade Price drop-down list, click the price
that you want to charge users to upgrade to the latest release of
the product.

This month we purchased the upgrade from XE to Delphi 10 Seattle.
I used the installation link in the registration email. Later i saw that there is now an update 1 available that requires a reinstall.
Now im in doubt if the installer i used orginally included update 1 or not.
The about screen in Delphi 10 Seatle shows 'no updates installed' and in the lower part of the about screen 'Build 0' so this suggests its the older version without the update.
But it would be a lot of work to reinstall everying especially all the components, so i would like to be sure before i start from scratch.
So the question: Can someone tell me how i can determine if i have update 1 installed or not?
Thanks in advance for any help with this.
You've already answered your question.... "no updates installed" means that you don't have update 1 installed.
Select that you want to keep your registry entries during uninstall, then you don't need to reinstall your components.

I created an iPhone application in a lite version and a paid version using different targets. In my application I used a SQLite database. If the user wishes to update the lite version to paid then how can I import or transfer SQLite database from lite to paid version?
You could take the URL handler approach: described here. Or you could allow the user to save (export) their data to iCloud and then read it back in (import).
I'd recommend that you create a single application and allow InApp Purchase to upgrade from lite to paid version.
Since you can't go back in time, in your case the "lite" version will need to send the information to your backend server, and that server should update the "paid" version with the data.
You can dump old data into new data .
From server download upgrade sql

On average how long does it take Apple to update/publish my new app/update on the App Store and iTunes website?
This link requires you to sign-in to your developer account:
https://developer.apple.com/appstore/resources/approval/index.html#expect
There is a box on the right with approval statistics - most update reviews are currently being completed within 8 business days.
E:
There are no longer statistics on that page (and it is no longer dev-account protected).
Statistics are now available without signing in:
https://developer.apple.com/support/appstore/#appReviewStatus
There is a box on the left with % of new/updated apps reviewed in the past 5 business days.
There are also community efforts to continue tracking approval statistics by # of days:
http://appreviewtimes.com/
Keep in mind that community efforts rely on self-reporting of approval times.
It depends on a human at Apple reviewing your app. If you'd made a few small graphics changes then it won't take very long, if you've added stuff like access to the address book or whatever they may look more closely. And it may take a while for them to get to yours if lots of other apps have been submitted recently too. So you might as well ask "How long is a piece of string?"
usually around 8-10 days from what I've experiences (and according to this site)

How is it possible to submit an app to the AppStore which is not for general use? For instance I might want to do an invite-only free trial before making the app generally available for a fee.
Or I might want to be able to give free copies to specific people for promotion. Are these kind of things possible?
Create an ad-hoc distribution.
It's all detailed very well in the iOS developer center, it's what you need to use for beta testing, etc.
Kevin's answered your first question: with regards to your second (giving free copies for promotion) - you can generate promotional codes once you've uploaded your app through iTunes Connect. You're allowed (I believe) to generate up to one hundred codes - this counter is reset every time you update your app.

I'm developing a report engine for iOS devices which uses CoreData.
I wish release it with an open source license, but I don't know which is the best to choose.
These are the requisites that I need to be satisfied:
The engine could be used in commercial and non-commercial apps
The developer that use the engine must give public credits into the app
If the developer makes changes to the engine must release it (and only it) in a public repository or must send them to me to integrate them into a newer release.
Have you some suggestion?
I think this license(LGPL v3) right for you.
As Marc B said, you really should talk to a lawyer. In the meantime, you may want to visit http://www.opensource.org/ for some studying and Larry Rosen wrote an excellent book on the topic: http://www.rosenlaw.com/oslbook.htm .
