I need to incorporate QR in my app, im using zxing,
the scan test works wonderfully, and when importing the widget after following all instructions, all goes fine,
but
I have this errors when implementing the code for the widget and QRCodeReader
Undefined symbols for architecture i386:
"_OBJC_CLASS_$_ZXingWidgetController", referenced from:
objc-class-ref in AttendanceVC.o
"_OBJC_CLASS_$_QRCodeReader", referenced from:
objc-class-ref in AttendanceVC.o
ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture i386
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
so how to fix this please?
edit:
my Architectures on build settings is: i386 armv6 armv7
thanks a lot!
Double check step 2 in the README. Under Link Binary with Libraries you must have libZXingWidget.a and it sounds like you don't.
Check the Valid Architectures in the build settings. Check out these links.
Undefined symbols for architecture i386: _OBJC_CLASS_$_SKPSMTPMessage", referenced from: error
Undefined symbols for architecture i386
EDIT : Usually these type of linker errors occur due to the link issue in your compiler or link issue with your added frameworks or your libraries. check whether you are using a suitable compiler, check whether you have added all the required libraries and frameworks. Also check whether you have imported all the libraries and frameworks properly. Please check all these things too once. For guidance on this check the below links

Apple Mach-O Linker Error when compiling for device
Linker error (only simulator) with own library after update to iPhone SDK 4.0
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1
Hope This Helps..
I had the same issue and following configuration in "Build Settings" works for me.

Anyone knows how to solve this error? I can't compile my project with IMFPush library =/

missing required architecture i386 in file

There are a few questions around that seem to tackle this issue.
I would first take a look at Jordan's advice here
and ensure that the framework was added to your project correctly. Additionally ensure that the framework has been linked correctly
If neither fixes the issue then also see the answer posed by Allen and check to see if your .m file is listed under your compile sources.
That said, i386 architecture is what is used by the iOS Simulator. Do be aware that the Simulator cannot replicate push functionality, so even if you are able to compile IMFPush for it, it will not function correctly.
i'm using cocoapods for the first time and after everything goes well
i get to run my project that was always wor˚ and got those 2 errors in lin˚er
can anyone please tell me what is it
than˚s
Undefined symbols for architecture armv7:
"_OBJC_CLASS_$_PECropViewController", referenced from:
objc-class-ref in addProductViewController.o
ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture armv7
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
The addProductViewController object is not found and it was referenced within AppDelegate. You do not link addProductViewController into your app. Check if your Compile Sources section within the Build Phases of your project shows addProductViewController.m
than˚s every body for your help
the problem was with arm 64 i just added it in my target and everything work fine
in architectures filed add standard architectures armv7,arm64
So I ran into this wierd issue where I am able to compile and run my iOS project in simulator with out any issues but when I ran it for profiling with instrument (cmd + I) I am getting Apple mach o linker error for one of the library. I tried it reading to project but it did not helped. I also checked my search paths which looks as following
Other Linker Flags: -ObjC -all_load
Always Search User Paths: No
Framework Search Paths:$(SRCROOT) recursive
Library Search Paths:$(SRCROOT) recursive
I am getting following error message:
Undefined symbols for architecture i386:
"_OBJC_CLASS_$_TestFlight", referenced from:
objc-class-ref in AppDelegate.o
ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture i386
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
Am I missing anything in my linking phase which causing this thing to happen ?
It's not finding the TestFlight library. Easiest way to fix that is to find libTestFlight.a in the Xcode project browser and make sure your app is checked under "Target Membership" on the far right pane.
I created a static library with Xcode I have compiled selecting a device.
I added this to my library test project in Xcode 4.6
but I always have 2 errors during the linking...
I followed this tutorial: Static Library iOS Tutorial
if I download the sample code I have the same errors:
ld: warning: ignoring file /Users/Downloads/ICodeBlogStaticLibrarySample/MathTest/Classes/iCodeBlogsMathLibrary/libICodeMathUtils.a, missing required architecture i386 in file /Users/Downloads/ICodeBlogStaticLibrarySample/MathTest/Classes/iCodeBlogsMathLibrary/libICodeMathUtils.a (2 slices)

objc-class-ref in MathTestAppDelegate.o
ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture i386
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
I had once made a static lirary , I had the same problem .
Solution was to "Run the app on device " not on simulator , it works fine then !!!
Hope this helps...
I followed this step by step tutorial:
Tutorial
in particular I had to add these flags: -ObjC and -all_load
You must have selected iOS simulator while building the project. Select iOS device and it should be fine.
Do read and try to understand the error message, it's a meaningful English phrase.
symbol(s) not found for architecture i386
So there's no compiled code for the i386 architecture in the library. This means that either it's compiled for ARM only (for actual iOS devices, like iPhone or iPad), or for the 64-bit simulator (x86_64). Use otool to find out the architectures present in the library.
I'm using Reachability on my project to get the type of connection used, but an error has ocurred.
Undefined symbols for architecture i386:
"_OBJC_CLASS_$_Reachability", referenced from:
objc-class-ref in ContributionViewController.o
ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture i386
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
I don't know what to do... my project is for iOS 4.3 and I've never had this kind of problem before.
Thx
Did you include the reachability framework in your projects linked libraries ? You can confirm by clicking on your project file on the file list and checking the build phases tab. It should be listed in the linked library section,
