using programs like tinymce and ckeditor in ipad programming - ipad

I'm developing an application in ipad that requires a word processor functionality and since uitextview is very limited I want to use tinymce or ckeditor especially with iOS 5 being released. However when I try to load these api's index.html page in a uiwebview, the toolbar items don't show up (copy, paste, bold, ...) and the text has all the tags shown. Do I have to edit something in the index.html page or do I have to modify the javascripts or other files for it to work with uiwebview? Thank you.

I've tested the latest TinyMCE Full Feature demo on an iPad running iOS5 and Safari and found no problems.
As I understand it earlier versions didn't recognise Safari on iOS as a supported platform so it may be possible you are using one of those.

Browser compatibility issues with Bootstrap

I am using Bootstrap in my MVC 5 application. The problem is that it works well on Firefox 35 an above but the UI gets disturbed when I open on IE 9 and IE 10.
Also, button colors that I am using appear as white on IE.
I want to make the application compatible to all the browsers.
Is this the problem with Bootstrap or CSS? What changes to make to make site work well on all browsers?
You can check the Browser and device support for bootstrap for supported and not supported features.

Modify Specific UIWebView code to have an address bar similar to Safari

I've built an app using PhoneGap and am using its InAppBrowser plugin. For the iOS platform, the InAppBrowser is implemented using an UIWebView. The "address bar" is a simple UILabel so it is basically read-only from the user's perspective.
I'd like to extend the plugin to have a simple functioning address bar. You know, let the user type in new URLs and show little inline refresh and go buttons. Basically like a regular browser such as Mobile Safari, Chrome, etc.
I know 99 programming languages but Objective-C isn't one. :( Mostly, I don't have experience working with the iOS framework.
These assume too much for me to take action on:
iOS WebView with an Address Bar
Adding a header view to a UIWebView similar to Safari and Articles
I'd like to just modify the PhoneGap plugin iOS source itself so I can keep the plugin hooks it provides to my PhoneGap app's javascript.
Here are the two relevant files:
CDVInAppBrowser.h and CDVInAppBrowser.m on Github
Hopefully this is a welcome challenge to some one already proficient in Objective-C & iOS?
Or maybe you can accelerate me in making the changes myself?
Thanks!!
So you can see what the current UIWebView (with UILabel for Address) looks like:

Can i use Modernizr on my Phonegap ios app?

I'm just playing with an app i'm making, but i just wanted to know if it's ok to use Modernizr for my ios app using Phonegap. My reason being that i need to find a way to handle what resolution images to serve, and someone suggested Modernizr has a solution for this.
Sure, I think Modernizr would be some kind of "Oversized" (1.), but as plain JavaScript library you can deliver it in your www-folder.
If you simply want to load different images for different screensizes you may also use css-mediaqueries.
Oversized, because you can be sure, you have a modern (webkit based) browser.
You have a geolocation API and you won't need IE polifils.

Looking for jQuery mobile image slideshow compatible with PhoneGap

I'm looking for a jQuery Mobile image slideshow that is compatible with PhoneGap.
I checked out this one: http://www.photoswipe.com, but there doesn't seem to be an active community around it, e.g. the issues I registered never got answered.
I also had a look at this one: http://tympanus.net/codrops/2010/05/27/awesome-mobile-image-gallery-web-app/
But that makes use of an external XML file, and I don't want to write an XML file for each slideshow that I want to show.
Now, is there a proven image slideshow for jQuery Mobile that is compatible with PhoneGap?
You can go for http://www.photoswipe.com/ which is best one.
People have successfully used it with jQuery Mobile.
also you can Try http://swipejs.com/

jQuery Mobile 1.0a4.1 iPad Viewport Size

I just updated the jQuery Mobile version of our client book-in page to the latest 1.0a4.1 and I need some help debugging a window sizing issue off-site (I'm not on location).
The page runs on an iPad at the store so clients can book in their own cases. However, the page is being displayed like it's on an iPhone with huge lettering. "Emulating" with Ripple shows everything as it should, though.
I can't debug it from here and I'm not using any other CSS besides the base 1.0a4.1 stylesheets. How do I force jQuery Mobile to display the page as if on an iPad?
Here is a screenshot sent by the store clerk:
I didn't have the time to test it or try the fix, so it's still a guess, but at least based on your code inspection ;)
ok, so you put a meta viewport in your page and JQM also pops in a little
<meta content="width=device-width,minimum-scale=1,maximum-scale=1" name="viewport">.
As I said - I didn't test it, but I expect a collision. I have read somewhere that JQM was supposed to stop putting those metatags there... Try fiddling with that metatag a bit.
Also - see if the alpha4 or 4.1 release notes (on the blog) say something about viewports.
