update XCode 4 to latest IOS SDK - ios

how can i update the sdk version that I have in XCode 4.1 (sdk v. 4.3) to IOS SDK version 5 (the latest one) without having to download XCode 4.2 and install all over again ?

In short I do not think its possible. You have to download the relevant dmg and install on your machine. While installing you can give the option of upgrading.

i have just come across this issue. go to application and delete install xcode, then go to app store and download xcode again.

Xcode version update

I currently use xcode version 8.2.1. I would like to update it to the latest version or at least to a version that is supported by iOS 10.3.2.
The app store doesn't show any available update for my xode and when I try to update it on the terminal, I get a message saying that I am at the latest version. I'm guessing this is because I am using the latest version of xcode8.2 or something?
I have seen this and it says I need to reinstall my xcode. So, could I update my existing xcode without having to install another version?
App-store is the only way to update the Xcode to the latest one.
First, make sure that you are running on the required version of OSX (macOS 10.12 or later) to support the version of Xcode 8.3.3.
If you are on the required version of OSX and the App-store not showing any updates, that should be a bug with the App-store app. Reinstall is the only option in this case.
Note:
The Xcode update (to 8.3.3) will take almost 4.5 GB of data
Direct Xcode 8.3.3 download will take exact 4.54 GB of data
So, I really not seeing any differences in both except the way of downloading.
App store is the only source to updating (through Commandline or
directly) Xcode or others apps.If store itself no updation of app. Then
probably have to wait for it instead of installing another version
from Apple download section.
Yes.Sometimes it happens to me.App store not showing new version of Xcode in Updates Tab.So i m going directly to search Xcode.
My current Xcode version is Xcode 8.3.3
But App store shows only stable version as latest version (currently
Xcode 8.3.3)
If you wanna more latest beta version product You can get from below

how to do Good SDK 3.1.0 integration with Xcode 8.3.2?

I have installed xcode v8.3.2 and trying to integrate good sdk v3.1.0, but I am unable to do so. When I went through release notes I found that this latest version will not support to Xcode 8.3 and later versions. But one of my colleagues is able to use the latest version of good sdk with Xcode 8.3.1 without any issue. How can we resolve this?
As you need to install Xcode and good sdk in the applications folder on the system. This is the way it worked for me.

Is there a way to get iOS 7 simulator on Xcode 7

I just updated my Xcode to the newest version (7.0 7A220) and I lost the iOS 7 simulator that I had in the previous version. I still have the iOS 7 SDK and was wondering if there is way to use it on the newest version of Xcode, instead of installing another version of Xcode on my OS X.
Download the official installation package from: https://devimages.apple.com.edgekey.net/downloads/xcode/simulators/com.apple.pkg.iPhoneSimulatorSDK7_1-7.1.1.1354140590.dmg
This is where Xcode 6.4 is downloading it from.
But it won't work on El Capitan, only on Yosemite. The runtime has a problem with El Capitan... So until Apple solves it (if they want to), we're stuck.
As for my initial analysis referred from link you cant install it and use older version of Xcode version for using respective iOS simulators. To use iOS 7.1 go for Xcode 6.4 or earlier. Install Xcode 6.4 and download respective simulator from Preference.
To download older version of Xcode you need to login with developer account https://developer.apple.com/downloads/

Installing Xcode and iOS SDK Issue?

I just recently downloaded Xcode 3.2.6 for my computer. When I got it installed, I opened it up to find that the iOS SDK was not installed. Why? Do I have to download it separately? Is there a place for me to download it instead of re-installing Xcode?
I did some research, and saw this, but can not remember if I saw the iOS SDK to install. I think it only said Xcode Toolset.

How to install XCode 4.5GM on top of the app store xcode 4.4.1?

I was searching for the answer to this question here but couldn't find anything. I had an issue before with GM version of xcode and would like to find out what is the procedure to do this. I have XCode 4.4.1 install from the app store and i would like to install 4.5 GM. Is the only way to have both installed on the machine or its possible to upgrade? Does it make sense to delete 4.4.1 and install GM version or just wait a week and xcode will get updated automatically.
I just don't want to install this one and then have to reinstall when the app store version comes out because then upgrades will be installed through the app store.
Thanks in advance!
You can install the AppStore version (4.4.1) and the beta version (4.5) side by side without any problems. Just download the beta from the developer portal and it will install as "Xcode45-GM".
