I like to have a main page Web part with a link to each one of the shared documents in our portal.
The problem is that they are from different libraries and also I want the SharePoint to keep track of check in and check outs of the files. When I use, Content Editor to add the links, and then click on the list, it download a copy of file and saved changes do not change the original document.
I thought about creating a modified view in that specific library and filter out just one file. Then put that file in the front page. But, the first problem is that the file is 2 or 3 level deep in hierarchy. Also, even if I manage to do that, what should I do about different files in different libraries?

I'm not able to save multiple files at a time in delphi save dialog box. Multiple files means I want save files without mentioning anything(or only asterisk) at "filename" field in delphi TsaveDialog. Please let me know how to achieve that.
Of course not, because that is not what it is intended for. You CANNOT obtain multiple filenames from a single save dialog. It only provides one filename at a time. That is by design.
I suspect what you really want is to prompt the user for just a folder path instead. Use the SelectDirectory() function (or the Win32 SHBrowseForFolder() function directly) for that, then you can create whatever files you need in that folder.
The save dialog doesn't save files. It allows the user to select file names. The save dialog doesn't support multiple selection so if you want to have a file dialog that allows multiple selections you need an open dialog. But an open dialog typically is used to select names of existing files, whereas a save dialog can specify a name of a file that does not yet exist.
Wildcards when entered into file dialogs are used to filter the displayed list of files. The file dialog won't return file names containing wildcards.
You imagine using wildcards, but how would you be able to do that and create new files? Wildcards are used to pattern match against existing files.
Maybe what you need is a folder selection dialog. Or perhaps you should ask the user for the name of the "master" file and then you generate the names of the "auxiliary" files using the master file name as a stem. I'm guessing because you've not told us any specifics behind your question.
My advice is to reconsider carefully what you are attempting to achieve. Think of all possible corner cases. Explore what UI idioms are used by other programs. Make sure you understand fully the capability of the file dialog controls. And then design your UI to fit with all of these constraints.
I see a number of routes to upload various files into D2L, including News, Content modules and the like - http://docs.valence.desire2learn.com/basic/fileupload.html however, is there a route to update a file into the "Manage Files" area of an org? For example to programmatically create a CSV for the CCB tool and upload it to the proper location?
The org that I have is one for "Course Branding" and the content path is something like
go to the course->edit course-Manage files and the Url /content/enforced/7974-ACB/ and there are 4 subdirectories there. I'd like to create a file in one of the subdirectories but not sure what the route should be. Any ideas?

Currently, you can only add files to an org unit's Manage Files area if that org unit has course content, because you must use the course content APIs to add the file data. You must also create a course content topic of type file in order to upload file data to the course's Manage Files area.
The Url property for the ContentObjectData JSON you send up indicates where in the course's Manage Files area the uploaded file will get stored: it must therefore be a legal path within your course's existing content space, and a file name that's not yet been used. Note that you can't update the underlying file you've already uploaded, or delete it, through the API. However, you can delete the content topic used to insert the file in the first place: the content topic will go away, but the underlying file will remain behind in the Manage Files area.
This is not a pleasant workaround, but it does seem to be a workaround.
Does anyone have some sample code demonstrating how to make a "file browser" view? I'd like to be able to navigate through directories and drill-down the sub-directories and see files located within the various folders. I want the user to be able to create new directories/files and even select an existing file. Is there sample code out there already available to do this?
I don't know about sample code, but this wouldn't be too complicated to achieve using NSFileManager and a UITableView.
You can obtain arrays of directory contents using the subpathsOfDirectoryAtPath:error and associated methods of a file manager. These arrays in turn can populate a UITableView. It would be fairly easy to put together a navigation controller that could display a series of table views showing a file hiearchy.
Bear in mind, however, that you'll only be able to access the directories inside your application sandbox, unless you're running on a jailbroken device.
The iOS programming guide says that
You should never present users with the list of files in this directory and ask them to decide what to do with those files. Instead, sort through the files programmatically and add files without prompting.
This is assuming you are trying to implement file browse feature for your documents directory.

I am using Web Part Connections to filter documents in a documents library in SharePoint. To do this, there's a column that is required, which I've named "related contact." Here's my problem: When I go add a New Folder (instead of just a document) SharePoint only asks me for a title for the Folder. The "related contact" column (which is required for the documents) doesn't even appear. Since the info on that column is empty, web part connections doesn't see the folder at all. Is there any way to make the Folder ask for another field at the time of creation?

Did you try creating a new folder content type with those required fields and trying to use that (and perhaps turn off the standard folders)?
Perhaps this page will help you: SharePoint folders and metadata.
Folders are one-dimensional. They are virtual containers for your documents, but aren't objects in your library that contain actual metadata.
Instead of using folders, I would recommend adding a column to your library that would mimic the names of the folders. From there, you can sort/filter/group/query the contents of that library. If users are sticklers for the folder structure, you could create a View that groups the documents by that new column, which would give you the appearance of folders.
So I would like it when a user creates a new folder in my sharepoint document library that 4 template documents also get added inside the new folder. I get that the user could just click on the document template for each template individual but I want them added all the time.
There doesn't seem to be an option to add template documents to a document lib folder content type.
Sooo.... Is my only alternative to create a custom sharepoint workflow that checks for the folder creation inside my doc lib. (Ideally maybe restricting it to only when a specific folder of my custom content type is created.. ) This seems like a simple workflow to create but I want to make sure that I even need to create one since I haven't actually created a custom sharepoint workflow yet...

You're right; there's no built-in functionality for this. It should be reasonable simple to write a workflow that runs when something is added to a library, checks to see if it is a folder, and adds the items into the folder. It would probably be easiest to have the template documents in another folder somewhere, and then copy them over.
