Sharepoint's "New Folder" doesn't ask for a required field - sharepoint-2007

I am using Web Part Connections to filter documents in a documents library in SharePoint. To do this, there's a column that is required, which I've named "related contact." Here's my problem: When I go add a New Folder (instead of just a document) SharePoint only asks me for a title for the Folder. The "related contact" column (which is required for the documents) doesn't even appear. Since the info on that column is empty, web part connections doesn't see the folder at all. Is there any way to make the Folder ask for another field at the time of creation?

Did you try creating a new folder content type with those required fields and trying to use that (and perhaps turn off the standard folders)?

Folders are one-dimensional. They are virtual containers for your documents, but aren't objects in your library that contain actual metadata.
Instead of using folders, I would recommend adding a column to your library that would mimic the names of the folders. From there, you can sort/filter/group/query the contents of that library. If users are sticklers for the folder structure, you could create a View that groups the documents by that new column, which would give you the appearance of folders.

Can I Use the Microsoft Graph API to get the id of folder within a sharepoint document library?

Is it possible to use the microsoft graph api to get the id of a folder within a sharepoint document library? If so, how?
I can see in the documentation that I can get the path of a folder and/or file, and make queries based on this path. But what I would like is to get an id, so if the folder and/or file ever changes name, I can still query that specific folder and/or file. Is this possible?
Specifically, I am creating an internal dashboard for my employees. We have a Folder in a sharepoint document library called "Contacts". Within this "Contacts" folder we have n number of subfolders such as "John Doe," "Jane Doe," etc. If an employee is viewing the information for John Doe within our internal employee dashboard, I'd like to display the any child folders and/or files of John Doe.
Again, all I can find in the graph api documentation is how to query based on the relative path. I'd like to be able to use the API to get an id for any folder and/or file, as well as to return any child objects of any folder using the id (and not the relative path). How can I do this?

How to save multiple files at once through delphi save dialog

I'm not able to save multiple files at a time in delphi save dialog box. Multiple files means I want save files without mentioning anything(or only asterisk) at "filename" field in delphi TsaveDialog. Please let me know how to achieve that.
Of course not, because that is not what it is intended for. You CANNOT obtain multiple filenames from a single save dialog. It only provides one filename at a time. That is by design.
I suspect what you really want is to prompt the user for just a folder path instead. Use the SelectDirectory() function (or the Win32 SHBrowseForFolder() function directly) for that, then you can create whatever files you need in that folder.
The save dialog doesn't save files. It allows the user to select file names. The save dialog doesn't support multiple selection so if you want to have a file dialog that allows multiple selections you need an open dialog. But an open dialog typically is used to select names of existing files, whereas a save dialog can specify a name of a file that does not yet exist.
Wildcards when entered into file dialogs are used to filter the displayed list of files. The file dialog won't return file names containing wildcards.
You imagine using wildcards, but how would you be able to do that and create new files? Wildcards are used to pattern match against existing files.
Maybe what you need is a folder selection dialog. Or perhaps you should ask the user for the name of the "master" file and then you generate the names of the "auxiliary" files using the master file name as a stem. I'm guessing because you've not told us any specifics behind your question.
My advice is to reconsider carefully what you are attempting to achieve. Think of all possible corner cases. Explore what UI idioms are used by other programs. Make sure you understand fully the capability of the file dialog controls. And then design your UI to fit with all of these constraints.

How to setup SPFolder so title is editable separate from name?

I have users that really like Loooooooooooooooooooooooong file paths.
I know the two fields are separate and that SharePoint automatically updates Title when using the edit properties for a folder. In the past, I've accidentally got SharePoint to have additional metadata on folder, but I've not been able to reproduce this behavior.
How do I make Title editable on a Folder?
Lists.UpdateList will allow for you to edit some, not all, metadata for the list itself.

How do you save file on server?

I am saving images on file and i am creating first folder which has Guid name for avoiding to duplicate file names. And entities hold reference src of image.
I feel that creating folder and giving guid name is wrong from point of performance. So how i have to avoid duplicate names ?
And second problem is the project seperated into 2 project. One is admin and other for user interface so i can not access my saved files from user interface. What is best practice about these problems ?
About the first problem, I think you could create a folder per user and replace the existing file, asking user confermation.
The second problem can be solved using a NFS or a shared directory where the admin and the user application can both read and write files (and you need to develope a component that retrieve the files and return them to your web apps).

Create a combined view list in SharePoint 2007

I like to have a main page Web part with a link to each one of the shared documents in our portal.
The problem is that they are from different libraries and also I want the SharePoint to keep track of check in and check outs of the files. When I use, Content Editor to add the links, and then click on the list, it download a copy of file and saved changes do not change the original document.
I thought about creating a modified view in that specific library and filter out just one file. Then put that file in the front page. But, the first problem is that the file is 2 or 3 level deep in hierarchy. Also, even if I manage to do that, what should I do about different files in different libraries?
