jQueryUI multiple selection by default and have lasso toggle selected status - jquery-ui

I'm trying to implement a comparison chart-like table, and a large list of selectable objects would work just perfectly, save for a few functionality changes that I need. I see that both of these have been addressed in previous questions, but neither of them provide complete solutions.
This question addressed the multiple select behavior by default, but only says 'I did it on my own' without providing anything. Looking at the internals of selectable, I see that if I play with the !event.metaKey condition I could probably get the behavior I'm looking for without too much trouble, but was wondering if anyone had a solution that didn't involve editing the internals.
Similarly, this page addresses the lasso toggle effect that I desired, but I'm not sure where in the code the lasso functionality was changed and as the rest of the script (the sortable functionality) is reported to not work in chrome or IE8 (link) and is outdated as this point, I'd rather not rely on the entire thing.
So if anyone could help me out with either of these, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

I'm sure there's a better way to do this, but here's what I've did within the selectable js file.
For the always multi-selection:
I added an option 'alwaysMulti' (default false). Then I replaced the three instances of !event.metaKey with (!event.metaKey && !options.alwaysMulti) and the two instances of event.metaKey with (event.metaKey || options.alwaysMulti).
To get the selection lasso to toggle the selected status, I found the changes I needed from the second page I linked to. I also added an option 'lassoToggle' (default false) to trigger this functionality. Within _mouseDrag, there is a condition if (hit), it gets changed to the following:

Drag and drop in AngularJS

I am trying to implement Drag and Drop using c0deformer's jQuery UI implementation (see here: http://codef0rmer.github.io/angular-dragdrop/#/) The dragging part works fine, but I can't seem to get the functionality I am after in terms of the drop. In this application, I want to be able to drop the draggable items anywhere within a target div, i.e., I don't want the destination scope to be limited to a list-type structure (or a set of repeated divs). Mainly this is because the user will be dragging items on the fly and there will be no way of knowing how many items the user will drag and drop in advance.
I have scoured the web and cannot find an example in Angular that uses drag and drop without effectively dragging from one list to another list. Can this be done? If so, I am not sure how I would appropriately update the scope after an item has been dragged. In this example code below, the dropped items are pushed into the scope of a second list and the new scope is applied. Ideally, the scope of the dropped items is the target div I mentioned above. I'm really new to Angular, so any advice is immensely appreciated.

I recently created an angular directive for drag and drop that doesn't rely on jquery-ui. It uses the html5 drag and drop api. It also doesn't have any requirements on the format of the data to be dragged or dropped, it simply sets up a hook for you to be notified when one element is dragged onto another.

Google Places Autocomplete with Jquery Mobile not working on mobile/touch device

As title suggests I am building a mobile website with JQuery Mobile (1.3.0) and am trying to implement Google Places Autocomplete (API v3) to aid user input of location data.
The autocomplete functions correctly on desktop device, but not when used on a mobile device (I have only tested on iOS 6).
When used on mobile device the dropdown list of relevant locations do appear, but simply disappear when you press one without loading the selection on the map.
I have looked around and seen some solutions that sight the z-index of
.pac-container
as the culprit (see: http://osdir.com/ml/google-maps-js-api-v3/2012-01/msg00823.html).
I have implemented these fixes but to no avail, and I am not convinced that z-index is the problem because I can see that the selected item does change to it's :hover state/colour when pressed on mobile.
Please if anyone has suggestions I am all ears, need any more details let me know.
Saravanan's answer is a bit overkill. To fix the conflict with FastClick and PAC, add the needsclick class to both the pac-item and all its children.

I have modifed the FastClick library little bit to accomplish that.
First I have added a param to FastClick constructor, where defaultElCls will be the elements which should not implement fastclick.

I've also encountered this bug, and determined fastclick to be the culprit. I was originally going to go with Devin Smith's answer, but epegzz's warning about MutationEvents being deprecated led me to MutationObservers, and since I haven't seen a fix involving them I thought I'd share my solution.

It is more complex than I'd like it to be because we can't just add observer.observe('pac_container') in the top level, since its added asynchronously. Luckily, the solution for that problem is also MutationObservers.
We add another observer to pac_container when it is created. That way, it detects the pac-items being added, and when they are, we add the needsclick class.
This is my first time using MutationObservers, so feedback/improvements would be appreciated. As you can see, I used both jquery, but it should be pretty easy to pull it out.
There is a patch for fastclick that makes it work well with google places autocomplete. See This answer :)
After much hair pulling I have found the problem to be the "FastClick" library I added to my project.
As #Saravanan Shanmugam points out in this comment https://stackoverflow.com/a/16932543/1177832
FastClick seems to interfere with autocomplete. Also see above link for the workaround he has added to get the two to play nice.

jquery.ui.touch.punch.js script is preventing input functionality on touch devices

It took me a little bit, but I figured out that I can't click on my inputs because of the touch.punch script I'm using to enable jquery UI drag functionality on touch devices. Anyone familiar with this script know why that might be? The form actually resides down the tree of the parent object. Does anyone know a way I can override or force through the selection? I'm going to try binding events that force focus to the input right now but maybe someone here has some insight?
JEditable + jQuery UI Sortable + jquery.ui.touch-punch
I have spent all day on this problem and I finally figured out the solution. The solution is very similar to kidwon's answer. However, I was using jeditable which dynamically creates input fields without class names. So I used this conditional statement instead of checking the class name:

I think this is a better solution as it always uses the native functionality for any input or textarea fields.

OK here's another solution if your textfield whatever HTML element is ain't focusing,scrolling, selecting words, moving text cursor around the text and whatever different scenarios might come then you may override the jquery.ui.touch.punch.js script.
I assume that your element isn't the draggable one but probably a child of it as my case was.
Put a class on your html element, for example class="useDefault".
Then go to the script file and find that part:

Thanks to #Danwilliger and #jeremytripp for the solution. Being that this issue has been known for years and yet has still not been worked into touch-punch author's Git repo, I forked it with the solution added here:

I would be quite happy for the author to incorporate those few lines of a change into the original library and make this one unneeded then, but if that never happens, it's nice to have a single source file to reference.
Jacob's answer worked with a slight modification—I found that using the click event resulted in inconsistent behavior on iPad, ios9 Safari. Sometimes I'd press once on a field and it would focus, other times I had to press three times. Changing click to touchstart solved the problem for me (I also used event delegation since my form was added dynamically):

Knockout js - Dirty Flag issue

I am using Knockout Js for my view page. I have a requirement where if any editable field changes, I have to enable Save button else not. This is working nicely.
My issue is I have checkboxes too for each row of item. These are observable items in my viewModel. What happens now is when I check or uncheck any checkbox, Knockout considers that as Dirty item and enables the Save button which I don't want.
How can I tackle this?
I am not sure of the exact code that you are using for a dirty flag, but if it involves using ko.toJS in a dependentObservable like this, then there is a trick that you can use to have it skip some observables.
If you create an observable that is a property of a function, then ko.toJS will not find it.
Here are two examples (someFlag and anotherFlag):

How to delete a jqgrid row without reloading the entire grid?

I have a webpage with multiple jqgrids each with inline editing enabled, "action" column (edit icons) enabled and pager disabled. I need to handle the delete event for each row so that I can process the delete without reloading server-side data. I've looked at the approach mentioned in jqGrid Delete a Row and it's very helpful except I have two questions that are stumping me -
Are there more details around the rp_ge parameter in the delOptions.onClickSubmit event?
My column has the delOptions set as this -

Is there a way to get the grid id from within that event? I'd like to have a generic function that I can use to handle delete events from all the grids on the page. The rp_ge parameter has a gbox which sometimes contains the grid id appended? But I have no idea what it is since i'm not able to figure out when it's populated, when it's not.

In the jqGrid Delete a Row approach, the code $("#delmod"+grid[0].id).hide(); is hiding the popup delete confirmation dialog manually. What I noticed is that when the dialog pops-up, jqgrid de-emphasizes the background page (makes it light greyish). But after the popup is manually closed (hidden actually?), the background remains de-emphasized. So it looks like the page doesn't have focus (or even disabled). Any way this can be fixed? This can also be seen on the demo that Oleg wrote.
Any help would be appreciated.

In answer to your second point.
Several examples by Oleg such as this one have the following modification.
