I am trying to pass a long[] to code behind from an Ajax call. The IdList currently comes in as a string which I convert into a JsonArray. Is there a ways to use the bind attribute ?

If you want to use DefaultModelBinder your request content should look like:
IdList[0]=100&IdList[1]=200&IdList[2]=300&IdList[3]=400&...&IdList[n]=...

MVC - Html.BeginForm. My action method does not recieve argument

It seems like the problem is that the UpdateSectionInformation get an empty model. How should I solve that? I am new to MVC and I really don´t get where UpdateSectionInformation is called.
I have seen something about Html.HiddenFor, should I use that here?:

You have to return json as :

With the respect to the error message you indicated in your edit, you likely have circular references in your object hierarchy which is not supported by the JSON serializer. If you don't need all properties, you could only return what you want (it looks like you are using only the Content property of Messages), for example

AnotherProperty = messages.AnotherProperty // if you need any other properties of Message class
}, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet);
which has the added benefit of reducing the data being returned

ASP.NET MVC 4 - posting JSON data from any page on the client side to the server

I need to post JSON data from the client to the application ASP.NET MVC 4, but the javascript code is run by user and transfer data from the site www.lotsalneschs.com to my server. For testing I used Google Chrome console panel.

If I execute the script while being on the page localhost:28369/Home/Index everything works perfectly:

How to fix this problem?

I think it has to do with your URL being hard coded to localhost. Try replacing your line
url: 'http://localhost:28369/Home/Save',
with
url: '#Url.Action("Save", "Home")',
Edit:
Thinking about it you should see what path is generated by the Url.Action. I think the issue is being run from a different server local host is pointing to that server and not your computer. If the Url.Action doesn't work then you should point it to a public facing address.

JSON collection of objects isn't binding correctly

I have a website where I am uploading an Excel document to the server through AJAX (Telerik control). When the document is uploaded it will return a JSON object collection of currency exchange rates. I then save that collection using the jQuery $.data() method. Then I call the grid to bind and pass my JSON object to my controller to bind the data to the grid. Everything seems to be working up to the point where the Action on the controller binds to the collection.
What am I missing, notice how the response from SelectImportedCurrencyRates returns '1/1/1' for dates, country code is 'null' and the exchange rate is '0'. When I Debug and check the bound object ICollection<CurrencyExchangeRate> currencyRatesImported, its bound with those values as '0', '1/1/1' and null

The problem was in the serialization of the collection I was sending up. It was passing an array up, instead of a serialized JSON object.
Here is what the serialization method should look like.

I believe the issue is the format of the dates being sent across the wire.
Unfortunately the DefaultModelBinder in MVC doesn't know how to bind these dates.

MVC grid sorting - customise links

I am using the Sort method of the MvcContrib Grid to generate sorting links, e.g.
<%= Html.Grid(Model).AutoGenerateColumns().Sort((GridSortOptions)ViewData["sort"]) %>
I have a need to change the default controller/action that’s generated by the sort method. For example,
defaultControllerName/defaultActionName/?Column=ProductId&Direction=Ascending
would change to
customControllerName/customActionName/?Column=ProductId&Direction=Ascending
I haven't been able to find any existing methods in the MVCcontribution classes that would allow me to customise the links. I’d appreciate any pointers on how to go about altering the default links as I’m still very much a MVC/C# newbie.

That's not an easy task. You will need a custom grid renderer to achieve this and override the RenderHeaderText method:
