I'm running an app in the emulator and am somehow getting the generic error message "Error - Try Again" shown below.
In order to debug this, I would like to locate the UIView corresponding to the "Error" button. Previously, I've worked on the backend for a React Native app and there was the Inspector (cf. https://facebook.github.io/react-native/docs/debugging) with which you could locate React elements in the code.
As far as I can tell from the Help -> Simulator Help menu (see below), there is no such functionality for iOS, or am I missing something?
The feature you're looking for is not officially supported by apple, but there's an awesome tool named Sherlock that enables such functionality on iOS simulator.
It injects itself into the iOS Simulator so that it can monitor views and adjust them in real time and lets you jump into the file related to the view you want to from the simulator.
You can inspect any app in the simulator, including system apps and dynamically change their UI elements!
I have created my own DocumentPickerExtensionViewController and want to be able to open it up in the Excel app on iOS.
In the office app I press Open -> ... More -> Locations and choose my extensions name.
But after about two seconds of loading a dialog pops up saying "The document picker ... failed to launch (0)".
I can't find anything about this error when Googling. Does anyone know what I might have done wrong?
I found the solution. I tried creating a new test app and document provider with Xcode which worked out of the box. I realised that Xcode was creating a Document Provider project as well as a File Provider project and what I was missing in my Xamarin project was the File Provider since I won't be using iCloud.
After adding a File Provider project I no longer got an error message.
Screencap of error window.
I'm trying to upload an archive to the app store in Xcode, and this is what's spit back at me. I'm not having any luck finding out what it's supposed to mean. Every other error I've encountered had at least some detail to go off of, but this time it just displays the error code number.
I believe I had a similar problem to this and solved it by uploading using the Application Loader opposed to the Organizer.
First export your archive.
Then open application loader in Xcode >
Open Developer Tools > Application Loader
Then click "Deliver Your App" and add your exported archive.
Have you tried -
Increasing the build number
Adding the relevant permissions to you Info.plist (camera permissions,
location etc)
Added the correct assets for app icons
Check your provisioning profile settings and make sure they are correct.
I've had more luck using Application Loader for submission so you might want to try that.
Hope this helps.
Everytime I run my app in a simulator debug area opens with console. I'm not really like it, because its only spam in there. I want to see this only if errors, or if i open it by myself. I checked preferences of Xcode and tried to google it, but I didnt found anything.
Xcode prefs --> Behaviors.
Find the checked entries under "Running".
One of the behaviors will read something like "Show debugger with Current Views". Un-check those behaviors, or change "show" to one of the other options.

XCode Documentation - Offline Reading

Closed 5 years ago.
After upgrading to the latest iOS sdk, my developer documentation is is empty. When doing a search, the contents list on the left side bar appears but the main content is empty. Try to right click and load in browser but nothing happens too. Please help.
Thanks.
I had this problem after upgrading to xcode 4.5, and I eventually find that it's because the doc set file is not downloaded completely.
Here is how I resolve this:
In the xcode preferences -> Downloads -> Documentation, choose "iOS 6.0 Documentation Set", you'll see a brief about this set below. Scroll up this brief a little bit you'll see something like this:
Feed:
http://developer.apple.com/rss/com.apple.adc.documentation.AppleOSX10_8.atom
Web Root URL:
https://developer.apple.com/library/etc/redirect/xcode/mac/cc4e97/
Identifier: com.apple.adc.documentation.AppleOSX10_8.CoreReference
Installed Location:
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Documentation/DocSets/com.apple.adc.documentation.AppleOSX10_8.CoreReference.docset
Save the Feed link to somewhere and click the "Installed Location" to locate the broken doc set in Finder. Delete it. You'll see it's gone in the Documentation list.
Click "+" to add a new doc set, fill in the feed URL you just saved.
Let the download complete and hopefully everything will come back again.
