I'm having a problem connecting to neo4j on a machine that previously didn't have any problems.
I've purged the previous installation from the machine and performed a new install - although I noticed that once activated it appeared to have a record of my previous activity.
Now, when connecting to the Desktop console, I'm getting conflicting messages on the one hand, :server connect returns
You are connected as user neo4j
to bolt://localhost:11001
Connection credentials are stored in your web browser.
On the other hand, any Cypher code I try to enter returns:
BoltConnectionError
BoltConnectionError: No connection found, did you connect to Neo4j?
BoltConnectionError: No connection found, did you connect to Neo4j?
:server connect
Connect to Neo4j
Database access requires an authenticated connection.
How can it be both?

Recently setup a connection to an Informix database from Dbeaver (JDBC) but getting error:
Incorrect password or user com.informix.asf.IfxASFRemoteException: testuser#xxx.xx.xx.xx is not known on the database server.
It appears that user account I'm testing with gets the IP address appended to it in the connection string which won't match the user in the Informix database.
I've tested an ODBC connection using the credentials I was given to test with, and they work so seems it's a configuration issue for my Informix connection.
Anyone know how to disable the feature that appends the IP address to the user in the connection?
I am trying to configure JDBC but kept getting the same error I am getting using snowsql:
250001 (08001): Failed to connect to DB. Verify the account name is correct: JG3409.canada-central.azure.snowflakecomputing.com:443. 000403: 403: HTTP 403: Forbidden
If the error message is unclear, enable logging using -o log_level=DEBUG and see the log to find out the cause. Contact support for further help.
Goodbye!
I have configured the config file, and I have double checked the account, company, region, reset password to only use alphanumeric.
I have used both forms of the URL
The only possibility is that I am using a trial account, but I can't imagine that this would limit external non-browser connections?
I use a simple user/password, I have whitelisted my IP and I don't have a problem with a proxy or a firewall. I can successfully connect using a browser.. using:
https://app.snowflake.com/canada-central.azure/jg63409
Important contents of the config file:
[connections]
accountname=JG3409
#accountname=uegxydq-pz20606
region=canada-central.azure
username=ASHSNOWFLAKE
any ideas?
Your account is not JG3409 but JG63409 based on this link:
https://app.snowflake.com/canada-central.azure/jg63409
Try in your browser:
https://jg63409.canada-central.azure.snowflakecomputing.com
I found out using snowcd that my computer could not connect via my home router.
When I used my personal hotspot on my (5G) phone, snowcd passed all the tests immediately. The problem then arose how to adjust the network security policy to allow a CIDR block of network addresses through since my phone uses a new address every time I connect, and I can't edit the policy to allow my phone while connected via my phone (for obvious reasons)
Catch 22
123.45.0.0/16 is not accepted in the new Snowflake UI, and 0.0.0.0 doesn't work for me, but the documentation gave me a clue.. the new UI doesn't separate by commas, so I switched to the old UI and voila!
Incidentally the OLD UI uses the same URL as SnowSQL so I picked up my error in my account number there as well (although I should have seen it earlier).
Diabolical but thanks #Sergiu too!
I typed bolt://localhost:7687 as a connect URL,
neo4j as user and
neo4j as psw
but I faced this error msg
" Neo.ClientError.Security.Unauthorized: The client is unauthorized due to authentication failure."
what should I do please
When you create a new database instance with Neo4j Desktop it will ask you there and then to change the default password of neo4j to something else, and it will not let you keep it as neo4j. This is most likely why you are getting that error.
If you are unable to remember what password you selected at the time of creation of the database, you can change it via Neo4j Desktop by navigating to the 'Manage' cog on that database, click the 'Administration' tab, and change the password there.
I've successfully changed my username and password for my neo4j database and I can successfully connect from my app. However now I cannot log in from the desktop browser.
Every attempt to run :server connect returns the same message, indicating that I'm still attempting to connect as user "neo4j", that the database access requires an authenticated connection, and that connection credentials are stored in my web browser.
I've checked everywhere I can think of for where these credentials are stored so I can change the user I am attempting to authenticate with.
Where is this information stored and how can I change it?
This may solve your issue. In the neo4j Desktop window:
Select your Project in the left pane.
Click the Manage button of the appropriate Graph in the right pane.
Click the Administration tab.
Set your new password.
I found the solution. I had to use :server disconnect and then :server connect, which allowed me to re-enter new credentials.
I am working on an app which is using Cloud SQL database. I am already connected with Cloud SQL instance using instance name, user name, password. I am able to create tables (by adding model), drop tables (by check) from App Maker level.
However I can't insert record using form. I also can't present the data in tables.
I am getting following error,
Exception: Unable to connect to database. Check the connection string,
user name, and password. Executing query for datasource ModelSQL:
(Error) : Unable to connect to database. Check the connection string,
user name, and password. Executing query for datasource ModelSQL
failed.
Did you set the preview credentials? (App Settings > GOOGLE CLOUD SQL > SQL preview credentials > UPDATE).
Please re-type CloudSQL credentials: in application setting - Cloud SQL for Preview or in deployment settings for Deployments.
Also ensure that your user is Editor or Owner on Google Cloud Platform's project with CloudSQL instance. And re-check setup instructions: https://developers.google.com/appmaker/models/cloudsql
Is the app running as user or as developer (https://developers.google.com/appmaker/security/identity)?
