Keep Xcode 5/6/7 on the same machine - ios

So we need to distribute some library to our clients, who could use any of versions 5, 6, or 7 of Xcode. I am using OSX 10.9.5, and I can keep 5 and 6 side by side.
We plan to add Xcode 7. But Apple won't let me download 7 in 10.9.5. And I heard online that El Capitan doesn't support Xcode older than 7.
So what's the best strategy to keep all 5/6/7?
Thanks!

Xcode 7 can be installed on Yosemite(Above 10.10) versions so strategy would be :
Create a partition on your mac, install yosemite in that new partition which you created and then you can install Xcode 7
In the other partition you can have mavericks or below versions to have Xcode 6 and Xcode 5

Using iOS8 and later devices with Xcode

Using iOS8 and later devices with Xcode?
Well you have two options:
1)Straightforward, download Xcode 9 and you are good to go.
2) You need to put DeveloperDiskImage of iOS 11 in
/Applications/Xcode8.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport
Put iOS 11 DiskImage
and you can find this diskImage in Xcode9 at same path in case you want to continue with XCode8
Path of iOS 11 Disk Image:
~/Applications/Xcode9.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/11.0
NOTE: Xcode 9.0 requires a Mac running macOS Sierra 10.12.4 or later.
Up to iOS 12.1 is available
You can download DeveloperDiskImage.dmg here or here
Steps:
1.Download Zip file and extract.
2.Click on "Finder" in MAC OS
3.Click on "Go to Folder"
4.Paste /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport . Otherwise go to Applications > Right Click on Xcode > Show Package Contents and follow the directories above.
5.Reboot Device + Xcode + Mac
One of the reasons why software no longer installs, such as you can't install Sierra or Xcode 9 has more to do with Apple making your computer obsolete.
Here is a recent (2016 Addition to machines no longer supported by Apple), and there are so surprises there.
I have a perfectly running iMac Early 2008, and 2 years ago it was placed on the obsolete list. I can no longer update certain programs, such as install Sierra or Xcode 9.2.
There are some very disgruntled people who purchased MacBooks and Apple made them obsolete without even introducing an upgraded machine to replace it.
Now, if I want to have my Apps run on the new iOS 11 OS, I need to replace a perfectly good and working machine. That is not right.
You can't run ios 11 on Xcode 8.2
You need Xcode 9 beta
https://developer.apple.com/download/
Xcode 9 beta requires a Mac running macOS 10.12.4 or later. Xcode 9
beta includes SDKs for iOS 11, watchOS 4, macOS 10.13, and tvOS 11
.

Develop app for iOS 3.1.3 on Mac OS X 10.11?

I have a Mac with OS X 10.11 and Xcode 7.2. I also have an ancient iPod Touch first generation with iOS 3.1.3.
I'd like to create, upload and run an app of my own on this device, but Xcode does not let me ("Unsupported OS version").
I downloaded and tried older Xcode versions, but everything before version 6 refuses to start on OSX 10.11 and 6 has the same problem.
Is it at all possible to do this, and if so, how? If not, whats are the latest OSX/Xcode versions that work with 3.1.3?

Can we install iOS 6 simulator in XCODE 6.0.1?

I updated my XCODE version to 6.0.1 from 5.1.1 but when i try to install iOS simulator 6 , i cant find it in XCODE -> Preferences -> Downloads option ...
My project needs iOS 6 environment
Can anyone please suggest a way to install it or get back to older version.
Thanks in Advance .
Xcode 6 contains CoreSimulator. CoreSimulator supports the iOS 7.0 and later simulator runtimes.
The iOS 7.0 simulator runtime is not supported on OS X Yosemite.
If you are on OS X Mavericks, you can install 7.0 or later.
If you are on OS X Yosemite, you can install 7.1 or later.
If you need the iOS 6 simulator runtime, you should install Xcode 5.1 (on Mavericks) and use it for testing your projects in the iOS 6 runtime. You can install both versions of Xcode simultaneously.
No, you can't install that simulator in Xcode 6.0.1. You can download Xcode 5.1.1 from the iOS Developer Center: https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action?name=Xcode
If that link doesn't work login to the dev center and under the downloads section click "Looking for an older version of Xcode?"
In the search box type "Xcode 5.1.1" and filter your Categories to Developer Tools:

Minimum MacOS Version Required to Compile iOS Apps

We wish to compile iOS (iPhone & iPad) apps and we want to know if you need to have a minimum version of MacOS to compile/create the apps? We currently have a Mac OS X 10.6.8, 1GB RAM, 32 Bit.
If we want to compile apps for iOS 7 do we need the latest (more recent than what we have) OS?
Edit: Does the fact our Mac machine is 32bit affect our ability to compile iOS apps (old apps and/or more recent apps - iOS 5 and up)?
If we want to compile apps for iOS 7 do we need the latest (more recent than what we have) OS?
Compiling apps against the iOS 7 SDK requires Xcode 5. Xcode 5 requires 10.8.4 or later. You have provided insufficient information about your Mac to determine if your Mac can run OS X 10.8. Try to install Mavericks here, or if that doesn't work see the Mountain Lion requirements and buy it here.
iOS7 SDK requires XCode 5 (min requirement 10.8.4)
OSX 10.6.8 will not run anything beyond XCode 4.2
OS X 10.6.8 (snow leopard) is TOO OLD to publish an iphone app.
You'll need a new mac with OS X 10.8 (mountain lion). If the hardware in your mac won't support an upgrade to more recent OS X versions, don't waste your time. Apple have not maintained backward compatibility: the minimum versions of Xcode or Application Launcher needed to meet the app store requirements won't run on 10.6.8.
Specifically:
- Beginning on February 1, 2015 new iOS apps submitted to the App Store must include 64-bit support and be built with the iOS 8 SDK
You can develop, test and simulate with your old mac, but ultimately to build and publish your app you'll need a newer Mac.
2022 update
Now they require SDK 15, included in XCode 13 or later (https://xcodereleases.com).
This release requires macOS Big Sur 11.3 which can officially work on macs from 2013 and later: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211238
In fact you can install it on an older mac with a patch, such as: https://github.com/dortania/Opencore-Legacy-Patcher

ios 7.0 upgrade issue

I have iPhone 4 with iOS 6.1.3 which is recently upgraded to iOS 7 now I need to test my app on that iPhone with iOS 7. I have SDK Xcode 4.6 and OS X 10.7.5
I got some small issues here due to iOS 6.1.3 upgrade to iOS 7:
I'm unable to test my app on that iPhone 4 with my current SDK (Xcode 4.6). So, if I need to update it to Xcode 5.0 but its not
working with OS X 10.7.5.
If I upgraded my OS X 10.7.5 to 10.8.5 will it work?
I have tried to downgrade iOS but I'm unable to do that because Apple stopped the signing for the previous versions.
First you need to upgrade your mac os to 10.8 then only you can install xcode 5. From xcode 5 you can take build in the device which is having IOS 7.
For your reference :
https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/DeveloperTools/Conceptual/WhatsNewXcode/Articles/xcode_5_0.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40012953-SW1
You have to upgrade your X-code version 5 and after upgrading u test your app in your phone
First of you have to upgrade your SDK' to to Xcode 5,IOS7 ....In the deployment target please use IOS 6 or relatively your iPhones IOS...Please remember developemnt target and deployment target are different....
