Can we install iOS 6 simulator in XCODE 6.0.1? - ios

I updated my XCODE version to 6.0.1 from 5.1.1 but when i try to install iOS simulator 6 , i cant find it in XCODE -> Preferences -> Downloads option ...
My project needs iOS 6 environment
Can anyone please suggest a way to install it or get back to older version.
Thanks in Advance .

Xcode 6 contains CoreSimulator. CoreSimulator supports the iOS 7.0 and later simulator runtimes.
The iOS 7.0 simulator runtime is not supported on OS X Yosemite.
If you are on OS X Mavericks, you can install 7.0 or later.
If you are on OS X Yosemite, you can install 7.1 or later.
If you need the iOS 6 simulator runtime, you should install Xcode 5.1 (on Mavericks) and use it for testing your projects in the iOS 6 runtime. You can install both versions of Xcode simultaneously.

No, you can't install that simulator in Xcode 6.0.1. You can download Xcode 5.1.1 from the iOS Developer Center: https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action?name=Xcode
If that link doesn't work login to the dev center and under the downloads section click "Looking for an older version of Xcode?"
In the search box type "Xcode 5.1.1" and filter your Categories to Developer Tools:

Can we install iOS 10 Simulator on Xcode 7.3

I want to test my app on iOS 10 simulator. But I don't want to build the project using Xcode 8 yet. So, can i install iOS 10 simulator in to Xcode 7.3?
I was just checking the apple developer forum
Below is the details
Xcode 7.3
Xcode 7.3 requires a Mac running OS X version 10.11 or later. It includes updated support for iOS 9.3, watchOS 2.2, OS X version 10.11.4, and tvOS 9.2 as well as many feature improvements.

How to launch app using Xcode 7.1 with iOS Deployment target iOS 7.1?

I want to launch my app for users who have iOS 7.1 and ahead. After installing Xcode 7.1 after running on iOS 7.1 simulator its giving
The iOS 7.1 simulator runtime is not available.
Unable to open liblaunch_sim.dylib. Try reinstalling Xcode or the simulator runtime.
After reading solutions of
How can I run the iOS 7.1 Simulator in Xcode 7.0 beta 2?
As you can see in comments also with El capitan and Xcode 7.1 its not working.
The only thing which i want here is my app should be available for iOS 7.1 and ahead users.
You will need a device with iOS 7.1 to check your app. If you have deployment target set to 7.1 it should run on that device with no problem.
Older Simulator runtimes are available for download through Xcode's preferences.
Goto Xcode -> Preferences -> Downloads to see the list of compatible legacy simulator runtimes.
El Capitan supports iOS 8.1 and newer runtimes.
Yosemite supports iOS 7.1 and newer runtimes.
There is a known issue mentioned in the Xcode release notes which prevents the iOS 7.1 simulator runtime from working in Xcode 7.
Thus, you can't currently use the iOS 7.1 simulator runtime with Xcode 7.

installing ios 7 on xcode 6.1 on yosemite

I have search a lot and comes up with lot's of different solutions and opinions which I got really confused .
I have xcode 6.1 installed with ios 8.1 simulator and I'm trying to test my apps on ios 7 . There are so many different opinions about installing ios 7 . Some says that ios 7 is not working on Yosemite and some says otherwise. also I have tried to install ios 7 from preference>devices but It got stuck and there is no progress at all with downloading.
Can anybody helps me please? Is it possible to run ios 7 on xcode 6.1 and yosemite? If so , how should I download ios 7 simulator for xcode 6.1 without using the xcode download section?maybe I can extract it from older version of xcode or download it from another source.Does upgrading to higher version of xcode helps?
Thanks
Open at Xcode Window menu, then Devices and there you can add desired simulator using little + button at the left bottom corner
The iOS 7.0 Simulator Runtime is not supported on OS X Yosemite.
The iOS 7.1 Simulator Runtime is supported on OS X Yosemite.
Install Xcode 6.2 and navigate to Xcode -> Preferences -> Downloads, and you will be given the option to install the iOS 7.1 Simulator Runtime. It will install below /Library/Developer/CoreSimulator.
Note that some versions of Xcode have a bug where the download will not occur if your laptop is running on battery. I do not know of the top of my head which versions of Xcode are affected. If the download progress isn't moving forward, go connect to AC.
Of course you can run iOS 7 on Xcode 6 or higher version. In order to download the iOS 7 follow the blow steps
Xcode > Preferences > Downloads > Choose the iOS 7 simulator
UPDATE
If you want to extract the iOS sdks from older version go to the terminal and follow below and then restart the xCode.
cp -r SOURCE_PATH DESTINATION_PATH
for example
cp -r /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS7.0.sdk /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/

Xcode version unable to install the application on ios simulator

I just upgraded my mac os from mountion lion to mavericks version 10.9.3 . In mountion lion i used Xcode 5.1 with ios simulator 7.1, 7.0 , 6.0 and 6.1 . I had a back up this xcode 5.1,which i installed to new mavericks version. Now if i run the project using the ios simulator 7.1 ,it shows iOS Simulator failed to install the application. Does it have anything to do with Xcode versions installed for the os versions
Reset your simulator like this:
Force Quit the simulator in the Activity Monitor.
U can try also remove the simulator (link) and re-install it

ios 7.0 upgrade issue

I have iPhone 4 with iOS 6.1.3 which is recently upgraded to iOS 7 now I need to test my app on that iPhone with iOS 7. I have SDK Xcode 4.6 and OS X 10.7.5
I got some small issues here due to iOS 6.1.3 upgrade to iOS 7:
I'm unable to test my app on that iPhone 4 with my current SDK (Xcode 4.6). So, if I need to update it to Xcode 5.0 but its not
working with OS X 10.7.5.
If I upgraded my OS X 10.7.5 to 10.8.5 will it work?
I have tried to downgrade iOS but I'm unable to do that because Apple stopped the signing for the previous versions.
First you need to upgrade your mac os to 10.8 then only you can install xcode 5. From xcode 5 you can take build in the device which is having IOS 7.
For your reference :
https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/DeveloperTools/Conceptual/WhatsNewXcode/Articles/xcode_5_0.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40012953-SW1
You have to upgrade your X-code version 5 and after upgrading u test your app in your phone
First of you have to upgrade your SDK' to to Xcode 5,IOS7 ....In the deployment target please use IOS 6 or relatively your iPhones IOS...Please remember developemnt target and deployment target are different....
