Parallax effect with Swift - Device 6 - ios

[enter link description here][1]The iOS app Device 6 has really left a mark on me, and as a iOS developer, I am confused as to how the app was created.
Does anyone know how they were able to create parallax scrolling with non-interative text all around the image?
Here's a link demoing the app, in about 16 seconds into the video, you can see the parallax scrolling.

P.S. for anyone confused, basically I created a label with a few lines of text. Now underneath that label, I want to place a box that's 2x2 inches. Inside that box should be a image, and as the user scrolls down, the image inside the box should scroll down too, just at a different speed. I have no idea how to do that! For a visual interpretation, just see the video link I posted above.

What is the pill shaped mini frame showing up above where is touch on iphone after double click , and how to disable it?

When I double tap, I get this weird pill shaped mini display that shows what my finger touches (without maginifying it or anything). Scrolling does not work while it is displayed. What's the point of it, and can I disable it in my PWA application?
I can provide a partial answer to your question. This pill shaped view essentially shows the user what is under their finger / thumb. It aids in text selection (for copying certain parts of text), or cursor placement while editing text.
The other part about the question regarding whether you can disable it in your PWA, I am not sure, but essentially this is default webview behaviour. I hope someone can help you out with this, or maybe you’re able to figure this out.

Blur then focus Effect

I am making a single view application in Xcode and I am having a little trouble*(By little I mean BIG trouble!)
I wanted to make a clone of the Apple's News app home page where the buttons are are blurry than come to focus.I want to use that effect for three different ui elements.I have been trying for days but no success. :(
Is there a way of doing the blur than focus animation to a label a button And image view? If so can you please guide me on how to do it?
Thank you for your time.

view images in ios7 app and make interactive

ok guys im not to shure where to start with this one its a first for me but i have a floor plan that i would like to show in my IOS7 App and i know i want the user to shrink and grow the image so he or she can zoom in to areas of the map. it would be nice if they could click on the an area of the image and it would be linked to data in my parse database. but i think thats a long way off for me.....
but for now just to let the user shrink and grow and rotate the image would be nice.
anyone got any tutorials they can point me to?
Have a look at Apple's PhotoScroller example. Here an ARC-ready version.
This will not cover rotating the image, but you can easily get this by following this tutorial.

Flickering issue with VirtualSurfaceImageSource

I'm considering using VirtualSurfaceImageSource in my application, and I've implemented something similar to the Direct2D magazine app sample, but I've run into a problem which occurs when the virtual surface is several times larger than the display area.
Basically, I have a horizontally scrolling ScrollViewer which contains an Image. The source of the image is a wide VirtualSurfaceImageSource (at least ~10000 x 500 px). The width of the ScrollViewer is 1280 px.
When I scroll the scroll viewer with touch panning, the image sometimes flicker - a part of the image disappears and then it's redrawn. This usually happens when the inertial scrolling stops. The image is already fully drawn when it scrolls into the view, but for some reason it's cleared and IVirtualSurfaceUpdatesCallbackNative::UpdatesNeeded() is called.
I've uploaded a video which illustrates the problem. Watch what happens when the scrolling stops (at 0:02, 0:17, etc...)
Any ideas why this is happening?
I've also noticed that the flickering doesn't occur if the image width is ~5000 px or less.
If you want to reproduce this, start from the Direct2D magazine app sample and add more text in the Sample.story, under the <text name="butterfly-body"> tag - just copy the existing text 10 times or so. Try scrolling the butterfly page in both directions and with varying speed, and you should see what appears to be the same problem.
I've asked this question in an MSDN forum, but so far I've gotten no answer.
This is no longer an issue in Windows 8 Release Preview, so it was probably just a bug in the Consumer Preview.

jQuery-based image carousel or horizontal scroller control for iPad swipe event?

I am writing a web-based application for Safari on the iPad and am looking for a jQuery-based solution for horizontal navigation. I've found several examples, but I want to create/use a horizontal carousel containing images hopefully stored in a <ul>. The selected image would be enlarged and in the middle of the carousel while the other images before and after the selected image would still be visible but smaller. A person could then swipe in either direction (no mouse click) to scroll left/right (or up/down through the <ul>).
I explored jQueryMobile and jQTouch and found many examples of using swipe but would like to avoid having to create this from scratch to address my requirements described above, if possible.
I've also found several good jQuery slider plugins like Swipe and Flexslider but I guess I'm being picky as I want to be able to preview the next images, as well as use something like the momentum property to scroll faster if a quick swipe.
I also found a similar topic posted on Stack Overflow.
Any help, pointers or advice is appreciated.
