I just installed the default Aptana for python2.7 on a windows 7 machine and I get this error. The dark editor themes are also messed up (letters not showing and colors seems to think its a light background). Content assist is half the reason why I use Aptana, what could b the problem?

Host machine: Debian 10 running NoMachine 7.2.3
Settings:
Specified H264
User Hardware Encoding enabled
Use Specific Frame Rate enabled (60FPS)
Use Acceleration enabled
Client: Windows 10 running NoMachine 7.2.3
Both machines have monitors attached.
Using NX protocol for connection.
FullScreen / Scale to Window / Desktop is currently 2560x1440 (reduced from native while testing this issue)
Specific issue:
I do a ton of work in the terminal and when viewing desktop via nomachine, the terminal caret is randomly not visible. The same issue is less noticeable with right click menus and other areas of "visual updates in small screen space." If this were another remote desktop vendor I would try to find the "don't update just regions" setting to force the entire display to update regularly, but I can't find similar settings for nomachine. I have a dedicated gigabit connection between the two machines with no other traffic on that line, so bandwidth is not an issue.
To recreate:
I disabled caret blink (using universal access / accessibility settings) so the caret is a solid block in terminal / vi. If I edit a text file in vi and move up and down, the caret will only update visually every other line or so (verified on the physical screen it is moving correctly). Same if I highlight or insert, etc. You inevitably miss a character or so or lose your place).
I have tried changing speed vs quality slider, resolutions, swapping from h264 to VP8, etc.
I have disabled:
multi-pass display encoding
frame buffering on decoding
client side image post-processing
Nothing seems to change this specific issue. Yes I can make dragging a quarter-screen-sized terminal window smoother, but that doesn't help me follow the caret in vi/vim. Both machines are nicely spec'd (client has 16G / RTX2080, server has 32G / GTX1080)
Is there a way to get nomachine to update all the screen all the time, or at least better refresh small areas like a terminal caret?
(OP): Based on a night of troubleshooting, the issue seemed to be either:
An issue with the Debian install of the nvidia drivers
The server machine is a laptop with a broken main screen (but with an HDMI external monitor plugged in). The Debian X-server may have been confused as to whether it was headless or not and caused issues with nomachine (which tries to detect headless and start a virtual session).
The solution to this exact problem would be to disable the GUI and force a virtual session, per https://www.nomachine.com/AR03P00973 (dummy dongles won't work because the laptop's main display is not a standard plug).
In my specific case, I needed GUI access on the server at times so I couldn't use the above methods, and I could not remedy the problem with Debian, so I wiped the system and installed Ubuntu 20.04, which is more forgiving with graphics drivers and monitors. After setting up the Ubuntu system as similarly as possible to the Debian system and letting the proprietary nvidia drivers auto install, nomachine connected at the same resolution and worked perfectly, without the lag in small screen areas.
I've got the printer driver, P-touch Editor, b-PAC 3.1 and client tools, all 64-bit, downloaded from the Brother website and installed on my 64-bit Windows 7 laptop. The P-touch Editor works/prints fine.
However, b-PAC failed, and none of the samples worked. I debugged the code:
bool b = doc.PrintOut(1, bpac.PrintOptionConstants.bpoDefault);
where b is false. What could be wrong?
I was hitting the same problem, everything appears to work right up to the point where I called "PrintOut", which fails with error 11, "The currently specified printer is not supported".
It turns out the problem I had was with the driver. I had installed the printer driver from the CDROM that came with the label printer. Windows 7 also comes with an "in-box" driver for the printer and in fact this is the one you should install (it's marked with an "LE" at the end).
To fix the problem, all you need to do is go to the "Devices and Printers" dialog, select the printer, right click on it and select "Printer properties", select the "Advanced" tab and click "New Driver". Find the printer in the list that matches yours but with an "LE" at the end and click OK.
Printing is possible with either of the drivers using the P-Touch editor. Odd thing is, "LE" appears to stand for "Light Edition", but the "Heavy" version doesn't work!... strange.
On my Windows 10 x64 machine, I've had a similar issue using Ruby to print through the bPAC SDK (using win32ole). My code worked on another machine, but not mine.
After fighting with this for a long time, I figured out that all was fine and dandy when using the 32 bit version of the bPAC SDK (and Ruby). Don't know exactly what went wrong here, but it might be that the 64bit SDK is just broken.
I had a similar problem, so I added this after the printOut to see which code I was getting.
string sError = doc.ErrorCode
It returned Error 11, which corresponds to "Device is not supported", but the device was a QL-570 which IS supported.
To get it working, I used the following steps:
Side-install the 32bits sdk.
Open your 64bit sample.
Change target configuration platform from "any cpu" to "x86"
Compile
See also: Label printing development using b-pac SDK in a C# application
The important thing is the application that you uses.
If your app is a 32bitapp (inclusive excel) you need the bPAC SDK for 32bit even when they are running on 64-bit Windows OS.
Some printers only support 32-bit b-PAC SDK ver.
(even if you use windows 10 64-bit with Excel 64-bit)

I had the same problem (printOut gave me the error code 11).
The error appeared after switching from the printer PT-9800 to PT-P950.
Trying 32 and 64bit did not work for me.
What fixed it was uninstalling the driver of the PT-9800. I found a hint in the b-PAC 3.4 SDK Help in the section Troubleshooting: "if the old label printer will no longer be used, we recommend deleting the printer driver."
Hi
I am a noob trying to setup my computer so i can make a social networking website.
Sorry if its not kosher to ask here, but Hopefully one of you smart guys can help me.
I want to test some CMS (content management systems), firstly Elgg and then some others.
As far as ive read i can do this by using a virtual machine like VMware Player.
Now originally i wanted to try out Insoshi so i tried to use Cygwin and GitBash (also Putty tools) to download it (with no success). This involved me installing those programs and also trying to get an ssh environment variable working. So i gaveup on that (seeing that Elgg has more support anyhow i thought id try to try that). I uninstalled these programs, deleted leftover directories and deleted the added environment variable.
I also uninstalled DaemonTools (cos i thought it may be conflicting).
Im running Windows Vista 32bit and have always downloaded relevant installs for that system.
My problem is the VMware Player installer isn't doing anything. I launch it and it seems to hang straight away see pic
Am i missing something here?
Vmware page also suggests a virtual appliance (for cloud stuff) which i dont know much about yet. And i think that appliance is installed via the player else an image loader like Daemon Tools. Do i need this appliance first?
Why is the player not installing?
Ive tried both 3.14 and 3.13 build with same result?
I have about 4 gig of space left on my hd and have 3gig of ram.
I have looked at the programs installed on my computer and cant seem to find anything else that might conflict (but i am a n00b) and i also tried pausing my kapersky pure protection. Any help is severely appreciated, thanks.
As I recall there were a couple of conflicts with vmware
A quick look through the vmware forums I see:
visualsvn
virtualPC (no surprise)
nvidia 270.18 beta driver
avg
I also remember there being talk on the forums about a specific executable name which caused issues, but Im struggling to remember what it was.
start regedit.exe
Browse to the following sub-key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\
You should see keys named 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4. In my case I had a folder named "L" before the 0.
Remove the key with "L" (actually it is "└", unicode #2514)
P.S. This is due to Microsoft screws up the registry Internet Zone settings in the registry. With the "└" key, it cause Javascript not to be called from an application.
Got it from here.
I understand this is an old technology, but I have been using it forever and own the software so I can't really change. I just installed Fireworks 6.0 on a Windows 7 box and even thought I can use the keyboard to get to my tools I can't actually CLICK any of my tools. It is the strangest thing I have ever seen. Could this be a Windows 7 issue because I've installed this product countless times on Windows XP machines and I can't ever remember this happening....HELP!
The issue with using Fireworks 6 ended up being even more bizarre than I originally thought. On my new laptop running Windows 7 I can not click to anything in my toolbox HOWEVER when I put Fireworks on my second monitor I can click everything in my toolbox. I found this out quite by accident.
I had an issue with old fireworks on windows 7 where it would not save preferences, one of the fixes was to enable compatibility mode and set it to run as administrator, you can do this by right clicking on the fireworks icon.
Hope that helps this problem too.
Is there a way to just run the matlab (7.9.0) editor and not the rest of the "desktop" on linux?
This can't be done directly, because the editor stopped being a stand-alone executable many releases ago. It is now launched as a separate Java window from the Matlab desktop. However, you could try hiding the desktop once the editor is displayed, using the following simple code snippet:
com.mathworks.mde.desk.MLDesktop.getInstance.getMainFrame.hide % to hide desktop
com.mathworks.mde.desk.MLDesktop.getInstance.getMainFrame.show % to show desktop
Note that if your editor is docked to the desktop, it will be hidden together with the desktop, so be careful...
No, this is no longer possible since r2007a.
You can get Matlab syntax highlighting for emacs and vi, though.
On my windows machine, I can start MATLAB with the -nodesktop option, then once in the command prompt, I start only the editor with edit.
Im not sure if this is different in terms of memory space used, but this way you only get the editor and the command prompt (no auto-completion though)
You can add Matlab syntax highlighting to Kate via a plugin. I don't know about gedit, but there's probably an addon for that as well.
