I use to be able to get to Google Code Playground page.
As discussed in
A guide to Google Code PlayGround
Its a web-based tool that lets web developers try out all of the APIs that Google provides, tweak the code, and see the results, I found it very useful.
But now when I try, I get redirected to API Explorer!
Has anyone got any ideas why?
Thanks in advance.
I don't know why they changed it, but probably you will need to go to the specific API/product you're looking for and search there.
For example, I used to teach the Visualization APIs with the playground, but these seem to have been reclassified as a chart "product" with the interactive code editing now hosted through JSFiddle:
https://google-developers.appspot.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery
Good luck (re)locating what you're looking for.

I know that someone mean will probably close this question for being opinion, but the truth is, I'm not after opinion as such, but actual facts about the correct way and how to do this.
I've been searching around for quite a time and I'm still unclear as to what direction to take. It seems there are a billion* libraries that I could use, but I want to know what would be the correct, proper supported method of achieving this.
Essentially, I have a very simple requirement to list and download files from Sites on our Office 365 subscription to an iOS application.
Initially, I looked at the REST interface for Sharepoint and, from a browser, was able to easily perform a GET to our site and receive and receie a response with meta data about the file, for example:
https://mytenantid.sharepoint.com/_api/web/getfilebyserverrelativeurl('/MyFile/Here/Document.txt')
I could also retrieve JSON output instead of XML by specifying an Accept header of application/json using the POSTMAN REST client for Chrome.
So far, so easy. Just the authentication to do outside of the browser and that's it.
Phew!!
I started by looking at Basic authentication, but wasn't sure if this is the right way to do it and even if it would work?
On looking further, it seems that actually, using OAuth might be the way to go. Apparently, you can either do this yourself (no idea how), or use a library (ADAL?) from Microsoft? Unfortunately, this all looks half baked will very little documentation that seems to work. It also requires the use of CocoaPods and workspaces and isn't just a simple library that I can copy to my project and start using (a la SwiftyJSON). There also seems to be a lot of other libraries around too.
I should mention that I'm using Swift, so I've tried converting code from Objective C to Swift (unsuccessfully) too. Apparently I can't use "readWithCallback" with an argument list that the code tells me I should actually use -- even a sample application I downloaded had the same issue.
I've also tried using node.js with a script (not a Web Application) and the documentation and number of libraries available for that is almost worse.
Any assistance to achieve this really simple capability would be hugely appreciated -- it's been driving me nuts.
Many thanks,
D.
*this might be a slight exaggeration.
Office 365 has a RESTful API that you can use any programming language to authentication and integrate in your app.
Here is a simple example for iOS connected app to office 365. The sample shows how to do this in Objective C and SWIFT.

I am trying to get twitter feeds in to my shopify site. I want to get the feeds and style them as I want and thus cant use a app.
I know how to do it using PHP but can not use that code in shopify and looking for a way I can use OAuth in shopify and get the feeds. I tried the shopify docs but without an example its kinda hard to actually get my head around it.
http://docs.shopify.com/api/tutorials/oauth
Thats the link I am using as a guide. If anyone can direct me to an example which might be similar that would be awesome. (google didnt seem to be that helpful this time either)
Cheers
I know you said you didn't want to use an app, but can I suggest taking a look at Twitify? You can use custom CSS to style your tweets. Also see discussions about Twitify here and here.
Twitter changed their display guidelines and policies on embedding of tweets on websites in June 2013. One of the themes I used for a client earlier in the year had custom styling of tweets, and they have now changed it to use the official Twitter widget to meet the new guidelines. In fact, the images on the Shopify theme store show how it used to look before Twitter changed things:
And after:
I think using an app like Twitify would be the easiest way to deal with these changes to embedding tweets.
Thanx for the suggestion. I did take a look at that before I posted this question. This is a project for a client and I dont think getting a plug in is a viable option. Anyways I found a work around.
Hosted the file on a server and then accessed it. So that resolved the problem. :)
I used node.js to write the script and get the posts as required.
Cheers.
you can use the app for that Twitify https://apps.shopify.com/twitify or you can Embed a Twitter feed in your online store
Go to your Twitter settings.
Click Widgets to open the widgets menu.
Create a new widget, following Twitter's instructions.
Copy the embed code.
Looking for good solution for Twitter login and posting something... but there is no idea for now. How to do it in xamarine( IOS mono has complete solution, but monodroid...) help me please, if somebody knows how to do it.
If you just want to post something then you can easily do this by sending an Intent for use by an external app - e.g. see https://github.com/slodge/MvvmCross/blob/v3/Plugins/Cirrious/Share/Cirrious.MvvmCross.Plugins.Share.Droid/MvxShareTask.cs#L19
If you need a more complete solution then libraries like Tweetsharp have had MonoDroid ports/branches at various times, but I don't know the current status of any of these.
You might also want to take a look at Xamarin.Social. This component will let you tweet from your Xamarin.Android application.
I'm currently integrating Open Feint X in my iOS project, with a custom store, trying to synchronize data between OFX servers, to download new contents... and all I have to do it is their sample application, with no comment, and a very basic API...
Would anyone have some clues to give, maybe a useful link that Google did not reveal to me, or anything that could help me to understand which functions I should call and where ?
Thanks,
Grhyll.
EDIT: They are currently working on a doc. However, I've managed to make a few steps further, so if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask here, and if I can I'll answer...
Has anyone got any suggestions on where to start with building a google map into a rails app? I would like users to be able to add a marker by clicking the map, and have spent a few days looking for a suitable tutorial or plugin (beyond ym4r), to little avail...any help would be much appreciated as I am finding the Google Maps API rather difficult to get into! I've also come across the railskit for google maps - does anyone have any experience in using it?
Just fyi, I made https://rubygems.org/gems/gmaps4rails which is a useful wrapper with several options.
I probably wouldn't use YM4R. We tried it and found that it doesn't add much value because it just wraps the API. I would recommend working with Google Maps directly from JavaScript. Google Maps API documentation is pretty good, and there are quite a few examples on the web.
There is an example of a click handler on the map here, and adding a marker is just a matter of doing
map.addOverlay(new GMarker(latlng));
