I might have a new app ready in a couple of days so I'm not sure if I should use the slot available right now to update my old app. I want to get the new app in the store asap.
How long does it take usually for small updates like graphic changes or just simply changing the name of your app?
All updates, small or large will go thru the same review process. An update to an app can take anywhere between 3 to 6 days. But I've had an update that took 4 weeks. you just never know.
If you go to the App Store Approval Process page you will see that 99% of all updatw will be revied within 5 days.
Normally a simple update takes 2-3 days..but not sure may take upto 10-15 days.

I published one my app to store.
Now I want to create a little bit different version of that app and publish it as separate app. (For the common account)
I will extend the app's features
Can I use simular icon? or which staff I need to replace?
In my case I use a different icon, bundle id, and different app description. Everything else were the same. If you're not sure if there's anything more to change just submit the app for review and apple will reply if there's anything more to change.

I want to run a code every ten minutes for ever. I used a NSTimer but when the app is in Background or Terminate the timer stops. I developed a game
Just store time, when app is terminated(or send background). When user open your app in next time, load this time. Check with current time and make changes in points.

I learnt how to program in iOS 6(mid-scale apps) in a university course last year. I was wondering, how much challenging is it to make a transition to iOS 7? I tried to check out for an iOS 7 full change-log but I only found info related to added features.
Not challenging at all. If you want to use some of the new API's then you will need to learn them. Creating a 'mid-level' app however has remained very much the same.
The major differences are 'stock' element appearances but they are created the same way. Also views are now 'full screen' so that can be confusing at first if you aren't aware.

So I'm going to do an app. It will have about 100 recipes, and so far I've only done 4. I need to have it submitted to the App Store tomorrow.
My question is, if I'm not done by then, could I get away with just polishing what I have and then submitting it? Would Apple or my customers hate my client?
It is very rare in software development to release an application without a few known defects, so long as those defects are not critical to the functionality of the application itself. This is why versioned releases exist. That being said, unless you have a clear understanding of what your client wants, via a customer statement, it may be hard to determine whether or not your client will respond in a positive manner.
If you're down to a crunch, polish up what you've got, make sure it works, and cross your fingers. Your other option would be to request pushing back the release date.
4 out of a 100 probably wont cut it though. :P

Does anyone have an idea of how long the Blackberry App World review process takes? We've had an app posted for a week with no additional information.
When you put an app in app world, it normally takes between 1 and 2 weeks to get an answer but it can vary quite a lot and go up to one month or so (depending on how effecient RIM testing teams)
I would wait another week, and go from there
around 2 weeks sounds about right
As it to me, 3 work days generally.
