Refresh in iOS simulator over VNC - ios

we have a mac mini, where we test over VNC-viewer our iOS app in iOS simulator 6.0 (369.2).
I guess after some system upgrades (now it's 10.8.3) VNC-viewer doesn't show simulator's screen changes and in order to see next screen, moving of simulator's window required.
I tried Ultra- and TigerVNC-viewer on Windows and Remmina on linux - seems to be - it's not the client. Everywhere the problem persists.
Does anyone have an idea, how to improve the situation?
Thanks in advance!
Daniel

I bet you don't have a monitor connected to your mac mini like me. I didn't use their trick but I can confirm once I hooked my monitor up to the mac mini it started working correctly. Hope this helps.

Build lags for a full minute on "Performing Install Actions"

Today, my builds suddenly started taking a long time to install & launch on my iPad (using XCode 7). During the "Performing Install Actions" phase, it hangs for about a minute, and then when the launch screen shows on the device, it takes about another minute for the app to launch. After the app launches, it runs normally without any issues.
I've restarted Xcode, cleaned the app, deleted build folders, deleted DerivedData, restarted OSX, restarted iOS, deleted the app from my iPad, and even upgraded iOS on the iPad to 9.0.2.
Edit: This issue originally seemed to be specific to the iPad Mini 3 I was using; it didn't happen on the iPhones I'm testing with. Now, after the weekend, it's happening on an iOS 8.4 iPhone 5s that I'm also developing on.
Edit 2: This was happening sporadically yesterday and it now seems to have cleared itself up, on all my devices. Still no idea what steps to take to fix this if it happens, though.
Edit 3: It continues to happen, but much more rarely.
I've been dealing with this same thing, but connecting the phone to WiFi seems to unblock my installs. Who knows why... but give that a shot if you're still running into this issue.
I recently ran into this problem and resolved it by restarting the device. I have no idea of what the cause is so I am reticent to suggest this is a universal solution but it did work for me once in a row.
Fix : Turn off iPhone wifi. restart it and install the app now. Now you turn on the wifi. and it works. Fixed.
I had a similar problem, but for me the app wouldn't launch at all. This might have been happening because I was connected to a WiFi that didn't have internet access. Changing to a WiFi with internet access solved the problem for me. It started happening suddenly for me as well, so not sure what triggers it. I've now changed back to the WiFi without internet access, and it seems to work again.
I met this problem in Company, but not at home, when debugging on device.
So if you are working under a company WIFI, just Changing WiFi to Internet Access will solve the problem.
I had the same problem just now.
What does NOT work for me:
Restart Xcode
Clean the project
Unpair and reconnect the device
(Re)connect to wifi
What DOES work for me:
Restart the device and build again
Another possible cause is low disk space on your Mac. Make sure your mac has enough space - I was running with 13mB space remaining... This will impact cacheing etc. and will cause delays on your build.
I have this issue when my Apple Watch are on me. Maybe some problems with paired devices.

My iOS device not appearing in xcode device list, showing in organizer

I m having xcode 4.5,
I have connected my iTouch(registered in developer program) to Mac Machine. It is appearing in Organizer's Device list. But, it is not appearing in xcode's device list(where simulators are) in one of my project. It is also shown when i open my other proejects.
So, What may be the problem in my this project, in which device is not appearing. Is any settings should be changed??
See the image below and change the settings.
You might need to "trust" the computer - a device will not show up in the organizer if the computer is not trusted.
Restart the iPad while it is connected to the computer. When it restarts, it will ask if you want to "Trust" the computer or not. Do so, then the device will show up in the Xcode Organizer.
Restart XCode
Try Changing the USB Port.
Clean Project. Shift + command + K.
Clear Derive Data.
I tried everything and then found that my device was identified on a different Mac but not mine. Quit and Reopen XCode resolved it.
The deployment target for your project is probably too high (e.g. iOS 7 if you are using Xcode 5 DP). Change it to a minimum version compatible with your device and try again.
Go to organiser, select your device, click on remove button at bottom of organiser screen, unplug your device and connect it once again. That's it. your device should be appear in xcode.
Go to organiser and click your device in the left panel. On the right, see if it is registered for development or not. If not, click "Use for development".
Hope it helps !!
Got this problem too. I plug my phone to Apple Cinema Display. Turns out I forgot to plug in the display's USB cable to my MacBook Air, so only power goes to my device but no data transmission (/me facepalm big time).
My case, I was trying to run a sample app I just downloaded and didn't knew it was iPad only. And I had plugged-in an iPhone. :)
I’m using a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) and my iPhone was connected through a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter. The iPhone was no longer shown as a connected device. Tried connecting the iPhone directly to the MacBook without the Adapter and now it IS a connected device. I’m going to consider using a wireless connection for development.

iPad emulator suggestion

my employer is killing me.
I'm currently editing our website to fit on iPad's display, however I do not have an iPad. I have tried the desktop iPad emulator called airiPad made by adobe and the online www.ipad-emulator.org/
both are working but whenever my boss send me his screenshots from his iPad it looks very different so I'm asking advice and suggestion on what emulator can I use to get the most accurate results..
P.S All of our computer units are running on windows7.
thanks..
I would suggest trying Safari under Windows, I suppose that's the best you can get on Windows.
The only thing you need from the simulator is its Webkit engine, and some 3rd party solutions hardly will deliver you the very same engine as the one on the Mac OS X or iOS.
Also, here are some Apple's guidelines on compatibility.

Is it possible to have an ipad simulator for windows?

I am developing an application for iPad but in reality i don't have the iPad.So is their any way to perform this task on windows platform without having the iPad.Is it possible to have an ipad simulator for windows?
Your help will surely appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I did this for a project. It's a pain, but it can be done with VMWare, you just emulate Snow Leopard or whatever Mac OS (which you will have to purchase, luckily they are very cheap compared to Windows.) Then from VMWare you run can run XCode, which has a very nice iPad simulator which, while not a perfect simulator, certainly gave me no problems.
Short answer: No.
Long answer: Ok, there are things like hackintoshs, however I don't think it's worth the while.
Seriously, if you're planning to release an app for iPad, you should have tested it on an actual iPad prior to release. While the iPad Simulator is good, there still are differences - if your app runs on the simulator, that does not necessarily mean it will run on the device.
I think I remember that testing on an actual device prior to release is even required in the iOS Developer Terms of Use somewhere.
You'll find nicely priced 16 GB 1st Gen Units at an auction platform of your choice.
You can use Safari on Windows to simulate much of the iPad web environment if you're building a web-app, however building a true iPad application will require using Xcode on the Mac.

ipad programming with vpn issues

Do iPad in the simulator and the Macbook share a same network? I have connect a wifi then VPN on my Macbook and everything works just fine on the outside Safari. But when I open the iPad simulator and it seems on that inside Safari the VPN is not set up yet cuz I cant access to my specified website. (But internet still works. I guess it is the wifi)
Not sure if I make it clear. I wonder how can I solve this problem. Thanks for helping!
Generally the iOS Simulator runs with the same IP and actually in the same process space as other applications on your Mac.
