I'm on windows and I downloaded and installed rmagick-win32 RMagick-2.12.0-ImageMagick-6.5.6-8-Q8 from here (http://rubyforge.org/frs/?group_id=12&release_id=42049) which I unzipped and installed using 'gem install rmagick'
When I try to run rails s, I get this error message
C:\Users\Me\Desktop\sample_app>rails s

isted in your Gemfile.←[0m

So I try to bundle install or bundle update then I get this (I took out the full list of gems to save space):

On Windows, you need the DevKit for Ruby to compile native C extensions (which some gems have included).

I figured out the answer. Make sure that if you download the x64 ruby version, you also download the x64 DevKit installation as well. I didnt pay attention to that and downloaded a x64 with a non x64.

I'm using Putty.exe to configure it following the tutorial https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-use-the-ruby-on-rails-one-click-application-on-digitalocean
I'm using Ruby ruby 2.2.4p230
Rails 5.0.0.1
Not sure if this help. When i using Putty.exe to configure my website the tutorial said If your Gemfile specifies a version of Ruby that is different from the one installed on the system, you may install it using RVM. So I tried:
rvm install 2.2.4
rvm use ruby-2.2.4-p230 --default
But I get the error ruby-2.2.4-p230 is not installed. And it can't installed because the system cannot find the specific version. So I use
rvm use ruby-2.2.4
sudo apt-get install build-essential
worked for me
I'm working on my first ruby on rails course, building an application. Below is the error I am getting in the terminal when running the bundle install command. I am trying to add the gem 'devise'. I have no idea how to get past this error. Thanks!
