removing invisible header from ipad tableview - ipad

my UITableView has some kind of invisible header / inset on iPad and not on iPhone.
I tried all the following to remove this unwanted header/inset, with no success:
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
self.tableview.sectionHeaderHeight = 0.f;
self.tableview.sectionFooterHeight = 0.f;
self.tableview.tableHeaderView = nil;
self.tableview.tableFooterView = nil;
self.tableview.contentInset = UIEdgeInsetsZero;
}
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return 0.f;
}
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return 0.f;
}
- (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return #"";
}
- (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return [[[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectNull] autorelease];
}
- (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return [[[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectNull] autorelease];
}

Ok, I finally found a way...
self.tableview.tableHeaderView = [[[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.f, 0.f, 0.f, FLT_MIN)] autorelease];
You can't use: nil, CGRectNull, CGRectZero, or anything with a height of 0.f. So I used FLT_MIN to be as close to 0.f as possible.

Question
When different cell repeat the same accessoryView Settings, getting stuck when I was out of the controller, can't into the interface
Each time when the controller card dead don't know why.Why can't accessoryView set the same view?Ask everybody to help. Thanks
accessoryView for each tableview cell should be independent but not shared, you should make a new view very time when assigning to table view cell.
Why acessoryView can't be shared? Each view should only has one superview.

Need to add a view as TableHeader?

Is it possible to load a View of height 672 as TableView header?I added it But i am not able to scroll and See the tableview cell Details.
i have used the code
ACCRemainderView *header = [ACCRemainderView customHeaderView];
[self.tableView setTableHeaderView:header];
In the Remainder View
+ (id)customHeaderView
{
ACCRemainderView *customView = [[[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:#"ACCRemainderView" owner:nil options:
nil] lastObject];
//make sure customView is not nil or the wrong class!
if ([customView isKindOfClass:[ACCRemainderView class]]) {
return customView;
} else {
return nil;
}
}
Try implementing - (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section in your UITableViewController and return [ACCRemainderView customHeaderView].
Set tableHeaderView is the best choice. I tested and it works.
ViewForHeaderInSection can not because at this view header's height is larger than table's height.
You can not scroll, I think your tableView is overlap by another view.
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
_tableView.dataSource = self;
_tableView.delegate = self;
}
- (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
NSString *title=[self tableView:tableView titleForHeaderInSection:section];
if ( !title )
return nil;
UIView *view = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, tableView.frame.size.width, 500)];
view.backgroundColor = [UIColor greenColor];
return view;
}
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return 500;
}
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return 2;
}
- (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView
{
return 2;
}
- (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return #"abcd";
}
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
return 50;
}
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = (UITableViewCell*)[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
}
cell.textLabel.text = #"a";
return cell;
}

ViewForHeaderInSection code works only on header dequeueing

I have custom tableView header, but the code where I specify header text color and separator line works only when the headers are dequeued, when I scroll them off the screen. Only then they return with white text color and visible separator. What is wrong with my code that the headers do not return in the correct state right on the first load?
- (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
if (section == 0) {
return #"FIRST HEADER";
} else if (section == 1) {
return #"SECOND HEADER";
} else {
return #"THIRD HEADER";
}
}
- (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
UITableViewHeaderFooterView *myHeaderView = [tableView dequeueReusableHeaderFooterViewWithIdentifier:#"header"];
if (!myHeaderView) {
myHeaderView = [[UITableViewHeaderFooterView alloc] initWithReuseIdentifier:#"header"];
}
myHeaderView.textLabel.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
CGFloat leftMargin = 0.0;
CGFloat lineWidth = 1.0;
UIView *separatorLine = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(leftMargin, myHeaderView.frame.size.height - lineWidth, myHeaderView.frame.size.width - leftMargin, lineWidth)];
separatorLine.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
[myHeaderView addSubview:separatorLine];
return myHeaderView;
}
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return 20.0;
}
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView willDisplayHeaderView:(UIView *)view forSection:(NSInteger)section {
if ([view isMemberOfClass:[UITableViewHeaderFooterView class]]) {
((UITableViewHeaderFooterView *)view).backgroundView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
}
}
The reason is that your header's frame is equal to CGRectZero before dequeueing. It means, that header will be resized in future and you need to set appropriate autoresizing mask to separator. Then, separator will also be resized.
UIView *separatorLine = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(leftMargin, 0, 0, lineWidth)];
separatorLine.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor];
separatorLine.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleTopMargin | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth;
[header.contentView addSubview:separatorLine];

UITableView separator gone when using viewForFooterInSection

UITableView showing separator even there is no rows. But when I use viewForFooterInSection the separator is gone. I want it to keep showing up. What should I do ?
Here is my code when I add footer in it :
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section {
return 3;
}
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath; {
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:#"s"];
cell.textLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d", indexPath.row + 1];
cell.textLabel.textAlignment = NSTextAlignmentCenter;
return cell;
}
// -------------------------- footer code start here --------------------------
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section {
return 40;
}
- (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section {
UIView *view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero];
view.backgroundColor = [UIColor grayColor];
UILabel *title = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, tableView.frame.size.width, 40)];
title.text = #"footer here";
title.textAlignment = NSTextAlignmentCenter;
title.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
[view addSubview:title];
return view;
}
this github project may give you some advices:
CLTableWithFooterViewController
Of course need some change if you would like the footer always display on the screen even if with a lot of cells.
remove - (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section
and - (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section
use this code to keep the footer down (but always visible) and keep the separator:
#implementation tableView {
__weak UIView *_staticView;
}
- (void)viewDidLoad {
UIView *staticView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, self.tableView.bounds.size.height-50, self.tableView.bounds.size.width, 50)];
staticView.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor];
//add other code for UILabel here
[self.tableView addSubview:staticView];
_staticView = staticView;
self.tableView.contentInset = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 50, 0);
}
- (void)scrollViewDidScroll:(UIScrollView *)scrollView
{
_staticView.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeTranslation(0, scrollView.contentOffset.y);
}
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView willDisplayCell:(UITableViewCell *)cell forRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
// this is needed to prevent cells from being displayed above our static view
[self.tableView bringSubviewToFront:_staticView];
}
I guess you just have a single section,right? Before you using viewForFooterInSection,it just fills blank cells all the way down.But when you call viewForFooterInSection,tableview will put a footer at the end of the section.Since you don't have the second section,it stops draw any cells.So you can make a blank second section,it will fill blank cells to the second section.

iOS overlay a header cell over another cell in a UITableView

I have a custom header bar in my UITableView that I want to overlap the cell below it. Does anyone know if this is possible? At the moment I've tried off setting the scroll up but doesn't seem to work does anyone have any ideas?
Here's what I have tried
- (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView
{
return 1;
}
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return 10;
}
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
if (indexPath.row == 0) return 200;
else return 100;
}
- (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return #"";
}
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return 20;
}
- (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
UIView *headerView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 30)];
headerView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"hm_pullToRefreshBar.png"]];
return headerView;
}
EDIT: I've tried to make the header height 10 pixels shorter than the UIView that I've set for the header view, but that just cuts the graphic off instead of letting it overlap.
