Error in getting provisioning certificate for iOS development - ios

I want to test my iOS application on iPad. For this I have created developer certificate,App ID and Device ID on Apple Portal. After that I have created Provisioning profile on portal. It is activated and I can see download button. When I click on download it is giving me error of Failed Download.
Note that for signing and creating .csr I have used Marmalade signing tool as I am developing applicaton using Marmalade. Also I am using Windows 7 for development.
Please let me know what can be issue.
Regards,
Premal

It is a pretty old question, but another developer might fall in the same error.
The basic steps you need are:
generating a .csr file, using Marmalade Code Sign Request tool
Inside Apple developer panel, create two certificates (.cer): One for development, one for distribution
register your iOS device with its UDID in the Apple Developer panel
Also in Apple Developer panel, create two provisioning profiles (.mobileprovision): One for development, one for distribution, associated to your certificate (.cer), and your devices (UDID).
Inside Marmalade's .mkb file, include the recently created .mobileprovision like this:
iphone-provisioning-profile='data/myprofile.mobileprovision'
Hope it helps!

Maybe it is a browser issue? Just in case, check out this tutorial which walks you through the complete iOS signing and deployment using Marmalade http://www.drmop.com/index.php/2011/12/10/marmalade-sdk-tutorial-apple-iphone-and-ipad-deployment-and-submissions/. If you follow this then you should have no problems.

Appcenter iOS install error "this app cannot be installed because its integrity could not be verified"

I see that this question has been asked many times but I see no solution that works for me so I'm hoping that providing more info might shed some light.
We use appcenter.ms to test iOS apps. Until our iOS certificate expired this method worked fine. We generated a new enterprise certificate and ad hoc provisioning profile for new releases of the iOS app. Which led to the first curiosity.
I see how to upload a certificate on appcenter.ms but not a provisioning profile. I thought there was an option to do this in the past but perhaps I am mistaken. However, the app is signed with a provisioning profile before upload, so perhaps this is not needed now.
Once the app is uploaded, it can't be installed. It remains grey and when you tap it, you get the "this app cannot be installed because its integrity could not be verified" error. Again, that the .ipa is created with an ad hoc certificate and profile in Xamarin (VS for Mac).
Also, I can't install the provisioning profile on a device from appcenter.ms. You basically get stuck in a loop where you seem to successfully install the profile but have to keep doing it because it never actually installs.
I hope this is enough info for some insight and thanks in advance for any feedback.
We were able to solve this by redoing and downloading development certs and via
And also downloading and double clicking the apple development certificate here
After that our keychain showed both as trusted and we could build to the iPhone again.
The issue can be the your device is simply not registered on the developer portal and/or that ad-hoc provisioning profiles have not been regenerated.
You need to register your device, regenerate a provisioning profile with this device in it and rebuild your app using this profile.
This can also happen because of
Developer ID Notary Service - Outage
which can be checked on https://developer.apple.com/system-status/
Notarization is well explained here:
Notarization gives users more confidence that the Developer ID-signed
software you distribute has been checked by Apple for malicious
components. Notarization is not App Review. The Apple notary service
is an automated system that scans your software for malicious content,
checks for code-signing issues, and returns the results to you
quickly. If there are no issues, the notary service generates a ticket
for you to staple to your software.
Work around fix:
Select your app.
Navigate to TextFlight tab
Create External Testing group
Add one tester
Add build which you want to download using TestFlight
Open TestFlight and download an app.
In my case this was caused by trying to include an entitlement for aps-environment "development" when using an Ad-Hoc provisioning profile. The value for this environment in Entitlements.plist must match what is hard coded into the provisioning profile file - if you open an Ad-Hoc profile in a text editor you will see it expects the "production" environment.
The possible solutions depending on your requirements are to either use the Development profile/certificate, or change the aps-environment to "production" to continue using an Ad-Hoc provisioning profile.
It can also happen if you have other incorrect entitlements - worth checking what entitlements are enabled under the Identifier in Apple Developer portal and removing unnecessary ones.
I had this issue because when building the app on xCode for distribution (Product->Archive then Distribute App), I chose automatic signing. After manually signing the app and choosing my own generated certificate and profile, everything worked again fine.
I removed the Entitlements file from the Addition Resources in iOS Bundle Signing and it worked.
I think the MSAL configuration was set to debug in entitlements.plist
I have also face this issue before but for me the reason was little different
First the build was enterprise one and the build was made on the earlier Xcode version on which the iOS version you are using on the device was not supported by the Xcode.
All I did was to update my Xcode and make a new build and shared the build. After that we were able to install that build over device Hope it works for you as well
This is how I solved for myself.
In you iPhone Settings > General > VPN & Device Management you should see your company name (if an app from it is installed), and if you click on it, you will see a button like "Verify" above the list of apps installed provided by the company. Just click on "Verify".

Xcode Signing - Failed to create provisioning

Here's the story:
I created a free developer account to build an app for a client.
I used this info for the Identity and Signing:
It came time to upload the app to TestFlight and to use the client's developer account.
I created the account in xcode using their apple id and updated the signing like so:
But now I got this error.
It was clear, so I updated the Bundle Identifier to this:
But again, now I am getting a different error, and I don't know what to do.
I do not have an iOS device to register, nor do I care to get one, since I'm not doing the testing - they are.
I did create an app in the App Store Connect, and it is set up like so:
As you can see I created it to match the Bundle ID from before and still no luck.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I just want to be able to get my Xcode project onto TestFlight using someone else's developer account (with their consent of course).
It needs to have at least one iOS device registered in order to create the development profile. Ask your client for the UDID of one of their devices and add that manually to the developer portal. If they don't have one handy, feel free to use: f978c5f2e861f71b340125a4fa8d130a6254a0b3 which will work.
Alternatively, switch to manual signing and do everything manually. That's my preferred method, but some say Xcode is finally good at managing profiles etc for you.
The only way to do this without a device is to turn off "Automatically manage signing" and manage everything at the Member Center.
You will need the distribution identity / certificate first. If the team already has one, you will need them to export it to you; otherwise you cannot upload.
Then register the app.
Then make a development certificate, and a distribution certificate for the app store, and download and install them.
Now you can archive and then export to the app store.

iOS code sign error

Apologies if this has been asked before. I am new to iOS mobile app development. I am further developing an iOS app that has been developed by another person. They sent me the source code and told me that all the signing keys/certificates/provisioning profiles are stored against the Apple Developer's Account (which I have access to). When I try to build/run the app through XCode it complains about Code Sign error (not having a matching certificate in my keychain) . How can I fix this error please? is the a way to download the.p12 file from the app's Apple Developer Account? Since the app provisioning profile and signing identity is only needed for running the app on actual devices (at least in my understanding), is there away of getting xcode to ignore about it just for the purpose of running the app on the simulator?
If you have a developer account add it to Xcode Preferences -> Accounts , then click Automatically manage signing
If you want to distribute the app, make sure you have a distribution private key in your keychain, from the old mac or create the new one

How to use of certificates in ios

Recently my client gives me access to his "developer.apple" account and told me to use it for further development for his existing project. But still now, i was develop with another "developer.apple" account. In client account all certificates and profile (certificates, identifiers, devices, provisioning profiles ) are ready. Now my question is should i create a new profile (with my keychain request file) for my device as well as iPhone or iPad to develop this project or i could use his certificate as usually by downloading it. Besides if any one give me some tutorials or links about Details about apple certificates and how to use it in devices (mac & iPhone/iPad) and how does it works with xcode, that will be much appreciable. I am new here in iOS..
Thanks, Have a good day..
If you are working with XCode5 then things are easy now. Just log in to your new apple developer account using Accounts section in XCode5.
Press CMD + , on XCode or go to preferences and select Accounts. You can see there your already logged-in account and using bottom option Add Apple ID add your new apple id there. Other things will be automatically done along with your keychain certs and provisioning profiles.
And after this again go to XCode general section and choose your newly added developer account.
Hope this helps.
You dont need to create new provisioning profile. You can use the client' profile. But you have to import the private keys(from the client) in your system. Some nice tutorials are

To distribute an iOS application in a no of devices

I have developed an application using Objective C with Xcode 4.3.2 as front end and SUP 2.1.3 as middleware.I have a distribution profile with me and I have successfully run my application in an iPad.
Now If I want to run my application in one of my friends' iPad then is it necessary to get his iPad registered with the provisional certificate? And what all yhings I need to send along with my .ipa file?
Is it necessary for the tester to drag the provisioning certificate also to his iTunes?
I have got a very vague idea about all these things. And I am very much new to this. Please help me with a clear idea..Please
You need to create an ad-hoc distribution profile for this purpose.
Follow the steps outlined here to do so.
The provisioning profile will be embedded in the ipa, so no need to send anything else.
Sorry for the late answer.I have asked a no of questions above. And now I have the answer with me.
I have a distribution profile with me.So the only thing I need to send or use is the .ipa file which we can create using Xcode. No need to send provisioning certificate along with that or no need to register UDIDs with certificates.
