Is it possible to deploy an Adobe AIR desktop application to iOS? - ios

I have an incredibly basic Adobe AIR 4.5 desktop project that I just want to use to test an iOS deployment. Is it at all possible to deploy this to an iOS device as it is? Or does it need to be turned into a Mobile project somehow?
The steps to creating an IPA file in the guide on Adobe's site (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/packaging-air-apps-ios.html) seem to assume the project is already a mobile project. I'm a total newb here, but it sounds like this sort of thing is possible? Is it really? I'm having trouble finding information.

It is possible to create a simple Flash project and export it without modification for iOS. Obviously depending on what the project is doing, some things might need to be tweaked.
I am currently building several apps using the same fla and as files, which are targetted for browser and iOS use.
But in order to place anything onto an iDevice, be it just for debugging, testing or adHoc distribution, you need to be signed up to the Apple Development program, have an Apple provisioning certificate in place and have relevant apple provisioning profiles created.

How to share my iphone app still ind development using simulator

I am developing an iphone app and I need to share this app with some people that don't even have an iPhone or people that don't want to use their personal phone for testing purposes.
So, I would like to understand if it is possible to send them instructions how to run the simulator and bypassing the developer enrollment process for each of them.
Is that possible ? Android is so easy but I am facing issues with iOS.

Do they have MACs? Do you care about sharing your source code? Because you can have them install XCode, and clone your development project from GitHub or download your project files and then build/run the app in the simulator. Otherwise they're going to have to use their personal devices and download an archive build that you make.

IOS Key needed for Phonegap

I am designing an App with phonegap and have no Idea about Macs neither do I own one. I need to develop an IOS App and it requires a certificate. I was wondering if there are websites that sell these keys or something or how to generate one without magically turning my PC to a Mac. It'll be of so much help.
It could be best if you run OSX on a Virtual Machine. You can find them on youtube just search "Sierra Windows". The reason why I recommend this is because there are other required files besides the certificate. There are the icons and logos that you'll need to put on XCode before it can actually be built and send to https://itunesconnect.apple.com/.

Do I need an iOS device to test PhoneGap Built apps?

I'm a complete noob and figuring out all this as I go along so bear with me.
I've built an app using jQuery Mobile, used PhoneGap Build and it works totally fine on Android and I'll deploy it soon. I'm now trying to figure out the more complex steps towards getting it ready for the iOS market. I've got my developer account set up and have tested my app as built with Xcode 4.2 and Cordova.
What I'm having confusion over (well one of the things) is whether or not I need an actual iOS device in order to get the proper provisioning and certificates. Can I get those, run the package through PG Build and then test it with the Xcode iOS simulator? Must I bother my friends to give me one of their iPhones to test on?
If I'm being vague or asking this the wrong way I apologize.
I'm currently building an app for iOS using Phonegap and even though I have done some testing with a physical device I have seen that the simulator works really well. I mean it would definitely be a good idea to at least run one test of your final version on a physical device before you decide to submit, Apple and pretty much everyone else very strongly suggest that you do, but you aren't required to test on a physical device. All the provisioning and certificate stuff can be done through the Apple Developer site.
The only real reason I could see your app not getting approved relating to this topic is if there is some weird glitch that is only present on a physical device and looks fine on the simulator.
And keep in mind, though it probably won't get you disapproved I've noticed that Phonegap apps that use jQuery Mobile tend to be more glitchy on the transitions compared to when they are run on the simulator.
No you don't need an iOS device to get certificates. You can get them using OpenSSL. I created a GUI to help do just this for Windows users.
However Apple is one of the strictest in approval. It takes 8 days for them to approve an app. And they have been know to not approve apps simply because of there appearance.
Now I myself prefer to have iDevices to test apps.

You will need an Apple computer to submit apps to the App Store. Apple no longer has a web based App Submission

Titanium Appcelerator: iPhone Development without a Mac (like PhoneGap)

I am about to embark on some mobile development projects but I'm doing a little homework first. My primary goal is to deploy to Android and iOS, but the latter is posing some problems because I do not have access to (nor do I have any interested in acquiring) a Mac.
Phonegap offers a cloud service where you can upload your mobile development project and they will do the building for you - no Mac required. From the Phonegap Build FAQ:

JavaScript, or a single index.html file - to PhoneGap Build, point us
to your Git or SVN repository, or let us set up a git remote endpoint
that you can push to. Then we’ll undertake the compilation and

I am leaning toward the development and native UI capabilities of Appcelerator, but since I do not have a Mac, is there any hope for me using Titanium for iOS development using something akin to PhoneGap's Build service?
If you dont have a Mac you will not be able to develop, test, deploy, or put in the app store applications for iOS, with or without using Titanium.
Regardless, even if you were able to use a cloud build technology with Titanium (which does not exist) you wont be able to deploy your final application to the App Store because you have to have XCode for that, the same goes for PhoneGap. Check this here:

Bottom line, unless you use a mac, your not legally deploying to the App Store.
Don't be forgetting the registration fees that come with signing up as Both a google play & iOS developer.
I fear that using a remote service is going to cost you dearly in time, as you'll be significantly increasing your test cycle.
The cost of a second hand Mac mini is hardly going to impact any development budget, even charity work. And as the previous poster note, you can't legally deploy your completed build without a mac. If you made macs, wouldn't you do the same?
There are services cropping up like Mobundler.com and Foundry22.com which let you do end to end development without a Mac.
Foundry22 is a service similar to PhoneGap build, for Titanium SDK. Similar to PhoneGap build, it requires p12 bundle for iOS signing and Java keystore for Android. You can use service like Mobundler to create those using just your browser. You still need to pay to become part of iOS developer program.

There is an Icenium platform which will allow you to build and put your app on App Store without using Mac at all.

Problem signing BlackBerry apps

I'm making web based applications for BlackBerry using the PhoneGap Framework. I got 3 .CSI key files from the BlackBerry Dev-Center and signed my applications, but when I try to install an application in BlackBerry I get an error with information about signing.
Maybe I am having a problem with signing?
What is the best way to sign applications for Blackberry? Note that I'm not using Eclipse because it has some errors on my computer.

The instructions you were provided would've been the best way to do code signing. If you've lost them, they're on page 8 in How and when to sign.
You do not have to put your apps in App World to share them; however, you would lose the marketing and ease-of-access benefits that BB App world provides.
