Problem Flash8 lable - actionscript

I have a problem: I am using Flash 8.
I have a label. I gave a name to label this as myLabel.
code in the actionscript I need access to perform this label
scrolling text:
I try but with _root.myLabel.scroll _root.myLabel always udefined.
Why?
I'm trying this code in a complex template that I downloaded.
Thanks

Try just "myLabel". This really matters when we figure out WHERE your actionscript is.
It sounds like you're possibly creating a scroller. Here's a tutorial from Adobe on how to do it in Flash 8 and Actionscript 3. Flash 8 / AS 2 permeates bad coding-practices by having you place actionscript on specific object-instances (textfields, movieclips, etc.) without really telling you what you're doing. It's like asking you to visually program in OOP without the foundation of WHY and HOW.
If you can, it'd be better for you to use Actionscript 3, document-level classes, OOP, etc.
Where is your actionscript? Is it in a frame at the top of your timeline? If you HAVE to use AS 2, or Flash 8, then put all your actionscript in a locked layer at the top of your timeline.

Confuse in choosing autolayout in storyboard?

I am under one project. In that I am using some image files and some button.
When i use to place button in my viewcontroller and see that preview using
assistants editor. My button are mis placed in different places.so i thought to use autolayout. But small confuse in that. I am beginner to ios.I have some question?
METHOD 1
When I uncheck this autolayout option like image (A)shown below.its working perfect in all iphone simulator(3.5, 4, 4.5, 5.5). By setting autolayout using below option (B)
[A]
[B]
METHOD 2
At the same time when i put check mark autolayout option and use like this image show below.I am getting some misplace (Not in arrangement].I know I miss some constraints. But its not better than my above question
please give me some suggestion about this.Which one should I use?
METHOD 1 (OR) METHOD 2. I am new to ios .kindly suggest me something about this?
Method 2! Autolayout. It is very powerful and (if you get the hang of it) quite easy and intuitive to use. You can create pretty much arbitrarily complex user interfaces using it. It has its limits, but in most of the cases you don't encounter them and most of the times they are fixable using constraints set up via code instead of the interface builder if needed.
Method 1 was fine while it was the only option and may still be okay for simple layouts. But as soon as you want to have a little bit more complex relations between different UI elements, like one UILabel being half the size of a UIImage, you will run against a wall.
You may check here for differences between autolayout(Method 1) and autoresizing mask(Method 2). Apple suggests devs to have their view layouting using Autolayout so there is not actually a question in here.
You probably messed up with constraints as every beginner does so I would recommend you to take a time in here and try to finish this tutorial.

Supporting multiple screen sizes

I want to build a mobile application in Delphi, but I can't seem to figure out how to handle multiple screen sizes. AndroidStudio has a nice relative layout for this, but I can't find anything alike for delphi. Am I supposed to build a multiple form designs for each screen size?
I'm using XE6, I am requoired to use Delphi as the programming language.
I have already figured it out, you have to use the Align property on every single control you add to the form.

Monotouch, Monotouch.Dialog, the iPad and customization

I'm in the process of developing an iPad-only survey-app using MonoTouch. With monotouch.dialog (mt.d) I found that building these interfaces can come quickly, which is awesome.
However... I also found that mt.d only does about 80% of what I want. Makes me wonder: should I invest in extending mt.d to my needs or should I choose something differently over mt.d?
Some of my requirements:
Radiogroups without transitions: I like the options to be
presented right away (there's more than enough space on the iPad
screen)
A rating UI control, such as
http://www.cocoacontrols.com/platforms/ios/controls/dyrateview
Mixed radiogroups: like 3 predefined elements and a fourth which
allows for manually added content
What are your thoughts on this? Can this be done easily (I'm a trained programmer, but quite new to both C# and iOS development)? Do you guys know of any online repositories of custom UI components with C#/MonoTouch bindings?
Thanks a lot!
This is of course a subjective opinion, but my take on it is that if you believe you can do your UI in UITableView (which MonoTouch.Dialog is based on), then you should go for MonoTouch.Dialog. If UITableView will not fit your needs, you should look for a different approach. MonoTouch.Dialog is quite flexible, and open-source, so if you need anything to be different you can just use the source code and modify it at will.

Which text rendering framework should I use?

I'm currently scoping out a project for the iPad which is rather text and font heavy. There are many pages of styled text, which also need custom fonts. I have toyed with the idea of simply rendering PDF or PNG files on-screen, but I think we need to be able to dynamically repaginate the text.
We've used UIWebView in a previous project quite successfully, however there are a few things I don't like about it... Firstly, you have to hide all the silly drop shadow elements to stop them showing when the user scrolls beyond the bounds, and we had to add some JavaScript to find out actually when a page had fully loaded. Overall, the experience seemed a bit clunky, as well as worrying if the project could potentially break if Apple decided to update the subviews...
The other thing we've been looking at is Core Text, which looks very powerful. The only worry with this is that it appears to be a rather steep learning curve for us since we've mainly been working in UIKit (with a bit of Core Graphics). I couldn't even work out how to change the size of the font after a morning's work.
Are there any other alternatives*? Should I stick with Core Text? Is there any way of using UITextView with multiple fonts and styles?
Thanks!
:-Joe
EDIT: *by alternatives, I am really looking for built-in iPhone SDK alternatives only please... I would rather not mess with third party frameworks because I don't have the time... Thanks :)
You could use Pango, which uses CoreText when on iOS.

Delphi control/way to print text sideways

I need a way to have a label (or something like it) print sideways. I would really like it to work at design time if at all possible.
Is there any controls / mechanisms that anyone knows of to do this? (Not .net controls please)
You would probably get better results by searching the Delphi ThirdPartyTools forum archives using CodeNewsFast ( http://www.codenewsfast.com ) full text search, or by posting question on that forum directly.
Here's one label control that does rotated text, I think many controls are enabled to do this now, in one way or another:

Here's link to another freeware label component, from a guy that's always provided good quality stuff:
http://www.scalabium.com/anglelbl.htm
I haven't used Delphi in a few years and I don't remember exactly, but I think many of the third party component sets (e.g., DevEx, TMS) had rotation as one of the properties for labels on their edit controls back even five or more years ago.
Here's link with info on nitty gritty details on how to roll-your-own rotated text:
