Do iOS App Short Links Take a While to Activate? - ios

I know that once your app is ready for sale, it can take a while to propagate to all of Apple's servers. Is the same thing true of short links of the form http://appstore.com/myapp?
I can find my application on the store through search, and it can be downloaded. Direct links using the Application ID lead to the app perfectly. However, using the short link created following the directions here gives me an "Item not Found" error.
My app has been up for about 7 hours. This is rather important, because I use the short link from within the app to invite new users.
Thanks in advance!

It seems that it does indeed take a few hours for Apple to link the short URL to the full one. In my case, it took 12 hours.

Problems activating Facebook Ads in iOS App

I am trying to integrate Facebook Ads in my iOS App.
I have the SDK installed and I also already receive test-ads. So everything seems to work fine.
BUT...
On the Facebook page inside the Monetization Manager there is a 4 step tutorial on what I need to do.
was Choosing the ad format -> Banner -> Done
Integrating the SDK (I'd say it's done cause I see Test-Ads inside my app) but here's the problem... Cause there is no Checkmark there.
Is the payment info. That's done.
Would be the Review that I'd like to do, but that seems to be deactivated...
So... It also says there, that I need to be logged in to facebook on my phone with an associated Account. I am!
I don't know what else I'd need to do in order for Facebook to recognize that I already successfully displayed a Test-Ad and I just can't find any contact phone number to ask somebody.
Any hints are very much appreciated.
Btw. I already tried yesterday evening (in case the activation process simply takes longer...)
I finally found the Problem after trying every single Setting on the Facebook page...
The problem was that I added my device as Test-Device.
So after removing FBAdSettings.addTestDevice(FBAdSettings.testDeviceHash()) it was working.
Did cost my a lot of time and nerves :) But now everything works as expected!

Is there a URL forwarding to the App Store review creator in iOS 11?

In iOS 10, I was able to forward directly from my app to its App Store ratings page by using the following link:
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?id=app_id_here&pageNumber=0&sortOrdering=2&type=Purple+Software&mt=8
However, in iOS 11 with its all-new App Store where the review page doesn't exist any longer, this seems to be broken now.
Does anyone know an alternative url that opens up the review creator page directly? Or does Apple want us to stop using such links?
You need to add a name after the app parameter of your url (here I use 'itunes-u') :
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itunes-u/id\(appID)?ls=1&mt=8&action=write-review
Also note that the scheme seems to be working properly so you could instead call :
itms-apps://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itunes-u/id\(appID)?ls=1&mt=8&action=write-review
What you should do is implement the SKStoreReviewController for IOS 10.3 and higher.
It's super simple,
import StoreKit
SKStoreReviewController.requestReview()
It turns out that the system will automatically limit the display of the dialog to 3 times over a 365-day period, so there’s no logic required to check this.
There is however a recommendation that you show the prompts at ‘logical points’ when it is clear the user has made some sort of engagement within the app.
The guides also say you should allow a week or two between repeated displays of the prompt so users don’t feel like they’re being pestered(this will require some thoughtfulness and implementation on your part).

First, according to apple guidelines you shouldn't do this,
but you can just add to itunes link of your game &action=write-review and just open this link.

Users can't find our app in the apple appstore

We recently published an app to the german Apple AppStore. Some of our users are reporting a strange behaviour when they search for our app (Couponiac). The search shows no result. But when they use our developer acc name (Couponiac UG) the app shows up.
While facing such issue there can be few possible reasons. Here it is:
First thing is after application approved & ready for sale it can take some time to come into search results
Second thing is if the application name or a part of you application name already taken by some of the apps who already on the app store from long time than it might not show you in results or it can show very far down the page
Make sure if they try to use full name of your application & search & see if shows or not. If it shows while searching with full name & not with the partial name of the app than you should wait for some amount of downloads of the app. Once your application downloads will be increased it will automatically up & will start showing on initial results
I hope it will guide you.

Why I Can't find my Application in the App Store Search

I just got an Email this morning saying my Application (Fuel+) is Ready for Sale. So I "Rushed" to my iPhone and typed Fuel+ in the App Store Search to not find my Application not there. Why is my App in iTunes Connect Preview but not in the App Store Search Menu. (This is my first App in the App Store.)
It takes a while (less than a day) for the App Store to index your application in the search engine.
Also, app listings on the app store are ranked based on popularity (number of downloads, number of ratings, etc.)
Seeing that you are using a very common term "fuel" in your app name, and that yours is a new application, your app could possibly be appearing at the end of the list, and there are 900 applications in that list in total.
It would be a good idea to use a name that isn't a common dictionary term to improve the visiblity of your application. Otherwise, you would always lose out in search results to over 100 applications that have been in the market for a while and has acquired a high number of downloads.
I believe, it takes time to update Apple's servers' caches. Stay calm :) It will appear in about 24 hours (in my case it took 8 hours or so).
App ready for sale, I can view it, but no one else can

UPDATE
My app is searchable aka findable in the app store now, I am sorry but I am not sure of the amount of time it took, it seemed to take a month for my app to become findable via search in the Apple App store.
It has been two weeks and I have had two versions "published" to the app store and still my app, by its very specific and unique name is not returned in search results using iTunes on my Macbook Pro. People have even installed my app through the direct link I provided them in an email and yet it is not found in search results:
I share this as an answer because it is informative. I will follow up with my resolutions. I am guessing, at this point, the only thing I can do is contact Apple Customer Support.
There could be many reasons for not showing up into the search results. Here are few explained :
May be the ASO changes you have done are not reflected yet so it will not appear in to search. In that case you should wait for 24-48 hours to let things go & settle
Another major & important reason is if App name you are using is very common or already is too much use in other similar apps which already are in the market before your release than also it will put your app far back into the search results that even don't show in limited search results
ASO factor will also effect your app to not appear into the search results. May be you should use more strong keywords which can help your app to compete with other similar apps. You can try & use ASO tools for that.
Last but not the least some times apple has some inner maintenance works which they do silently also affects sometimes to the search results
So from above points the solution is :
Wait for the few hours at least 48 hours to let crawl your ASO keywords & lets get effect in to search result improvements
If it not works since 48 hours you should appeal to apple review team for the same.
Hope it will work to everyone.

How do I check my ios app version history detail on itunesconnect

Now My app was update to version 1.4, So can't find my app's version 1.0 states on itunesconnect.
Now I really need my version 1.0's detail such as app create date or sth....
Does any one can help me?
In case anybody wonders how services like sensortower get this data:
Unfortunately there is no API for this. The iTunes App Page seems to get this info out of the versionHistory array deep inside its.serverData.
For the response to include this, the request needs these HTTP headers:
X-Apple-Store-Front : 143445-2,32
apple-originating-system : MZStore
Here link with sample request and response: https://gist.github.com/catlan/30b2e87dedb00733e4e223e60fd08c63
Notes about X-Apple-Store-Front:
iTunes: 143445-2,32
Mac App Store: 143445-2,13
Volume Purchase Programme for Business: 143445-2,14
Volume Purchase Programme for Education: 143445-2,11
JSON: 143445-2,20
This should also answer the (closed?) questions: App Store API for release notes / updates and How to access complete version history of iOS App
Any app's version history is now available in the iTunes application on the app's page, under Version History.
You could use a service like Sensortower.
It regularly lists charecteristics of every app, so you can take those infos from there.
This might be especially interesting, if you're looking for infos of a third party app, where you don't have the possibility, to log-in to the apple dev center or the like for detailed infos about your app.
E.g. details for Evernote: https://sensortower.com/ios/de/evernote/app/evernote/281796108
Actually you can via a Chinese site xinyou.com.
Search by app name in the top search box, then on the app page, scroll down on the right, you'll see the update history listed by dates.
Click on the version number (any of them) to see the history notes.
That said, I am not sure evry app is there and am still looking for an English site equivalent, and some of the version updates show up in Chinese (these may be actual Chinese updates as I only see them on the really popular international apps (i.e. Evernote).
Hope this helps and hope someone has a better localsite option.
