Yesterday it was announed that WIF - Windows Identity Foundation SDK RC was released in public domain. I tried installing the msu file from MSDN on my PC which has Home Premium edition of Vista and it failed? Microsoft mentions that Vista is supported but does not mention any versions of Vista on the site...Does anyone have similar problems??
I have the exact same issue on a Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition box. I had the WIF Beta 2 uninstalled prior to installing the RC. Any chance that the .msu is confused with something that is left behind by the B2 uninstall script.

Update...
Found a thread on MS Geneva forum that talks about needing SP2 for WS 2008 and Vista. Just finished installing the RC.

Good luck.
I faced similar problem on Windows 2008 Server. MSU files failed saying "The update does not apply to your computer". Also prior to installing Windows Identity Foundation SDK installation asked for "Windows Identity Foundation Runtime". From where I can get "Windows Identity Foundation Runtime"?
You can download the WIF runtime for Vista/W2K8(win6) and Win7/W2K8R2(win6.1) (for x86 and x64 systems), as well as the SDK, from the MSDN Evaluation Center.
If you want the SDK, you have to install the runtime before the SDK.

We are trying to set up 10.4 Sydney automated builds based on the Delphi command-line compiler. Our build servers are Windows Server 2016, but RAD Studio 10.4 is supported only for Windows 10 and attempts to install on Windows Server 2016 have failed. Embarcadero technical support says to purchase RAD Server, but is RAD Server really intended to support automated builds?
Would manual setup be a solution? Is it feasible to manually set up the Delphi 10.4 command-line compiler on Windows Server 2016 (i.e. copy over needed files and import needed Registry settings)? Or will 10.4 install on Server despite this not being officially supported (with our woes being due to heretofore unidentified IS policies or security settings which are interfering with the setup)?
Edit: The error is "No valid license information found for Embarcadero Delphi 10.4. You must provide a valid serial number in order to use Embarcadero Delphi 10.4 Do you want to run the registration wizard again?"
The solution (suggested by our Embarcadero sales rep, not their tech support, who refused to help because 10.4 is not officially supported on Windows Server 2016) was to uninstall 10.4 (what little had installed) and then reinstall. Reinstalling, the installer found the manually-imported license (the same one that it had complained held no valid license information) and allowed the install to proceed. There were no further issues with the install and now both the Delphi 10.4 IDE and command prompt are working properly.
I'm trying to run an already functional application that requires the Windows 8.1 SDK.
I installed Visual Studio 2019, but there is no option in the 8.1 SDK.
This is for a Windows 10 using Visual Studio 2019 last update.
On my old computer, there was the option to select in "Individual Components", but now no longer the encounter. Does anyone know if there is no such support on VS2019? Or is it necessary to install something more for the support to appear?
This is expected as it is marked as deprecated in Visual Studio 2019:
The Windows 8.1 SDK is no longer available in the Visual Studio
installer. Please upgrade your C++ projects to the latest Windows 10
SDK. If you have a hard dependency on 8.1, you can download it from
the Windows SDK archive.
So download and install the SDK from here.
I have installed WebSphere 8.5.5 and then updated it to WAS 8.5.5.13 .
Now I am installing SDK 8.0.3 , it is not installing saying
Your operating system failed the prerequisites check because it is below the recommended minimum level for this product. For more information about supported operating systems, see the IBM WebSphere SDK Java Technology Edition Version 8.0 detailed system requirements Web pages - http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27045339
Please let me know how should I proceed further.
The issue is sorted.
SDK 8 will not work windows 2008.
It is not supported by windows 2008.
When Team Foundation Server 2010 was released, there are no Windows 10. I check its system requirements and found it supports Windows 7. So does anyone have experiences in installing TFS 2010 on Windows 10 successfully?
Thanks
TFS 2010 doesn't support Windows 10, it only supports the following client operating systems:
Windows 7 (Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate)
Windows Vista SP2
